Nice to hear people talk about the Mark 56. Feel like I have t heard much since it’s release 6 months ago. I personally love the Rod. It will throw a 6” mag draft as well as a 3oz glide. It’s just the perfect rod for those lighter swimbaits. You can throw it all day and it’s like you’re fishing any other rod
Does shaving the front of the joint down with a dremel tool make the Gancraft 178 glide better? Or should I just try downsizing my line from 20lb flourocarbon leader?
Some guys like the swim after using a dremel, I personally like the swim of the gan craft stock. Downsizing can also help with the swim overall as well
Thats why a lot of people including myself ground down the joints on the I-slide 185 and gancrafts cause it just gave the bait a more level glide almost similar to a chad shad really but. I know not many people are gonna do that to a $50+ dollar bait sometimes. So this could be a good option.
u def gotta be careful I use some electrical tape as a marker to get them as straight and close as possible to each other but u ain't wrong it works.@@The_Bass_Stunters
Need some help, answers. It seems the high float K9 is easier to get ahold of than the low float. When is the best time and conditions to throw each of these two baits. Can I turn a high float into a low float by adding weight? WHAT'S THE DIFFERNCE?
i thought i was the only one who thought that the islide187 just didnt glide that well...guess i was wrong lol. Fished it a few time and it just kept blowing out and not swim/glide right...i had to put them away..and havent used them since...kind of glad they made new versions. Definitely going to buy the new ones .
That mat shad color looks great I filled down the backside of front half of the bait at the hinge with my old versions makes them glide way tighter/choppy. Just can't file down into the body of course. I would like to check out the new ones
I love your channel and your content. Keep up the great work. I love fishing glide baits and you have helped me out a lot when it comes to fishing glide baits. With that said, I need your help. I can't get my Megabass Islide 187r to swim right. It does not have the same action like yours. I bought 2 floaters and I added a 1 gram lead strip in order to get the bait to suspend and/or sink very slowly. I added the 1 gram weight in the same spot as you, right on the bottom of the bait just in front of the front hook. My bait glides OK in the first 2-3 reel handle turns. But, by the time I reach my 3rd or 4th reel handle turn, the bait will 'BLOW OUT' and do this really weird dolphin dive where the head comes up and than the bait lunges forward and nose dives really sharply to one side. I usually have to stop and restart my retrieve in order to get the bait to glide left and/or right again in the correct way. This is my setup for throwing the Megabass islide 187r... Hooks _ I changed out the stock hooks to #3 BKK Fangs 62 UA. Some questions... 1. What are you using in front of the bait to tie your line on to? Are you using a snap/clip or are you using the stock split ring? 2. What brand and LB line of fluorocarbon are you using anyway? What is the diameter of the fishing line you're using in millimeters? 3. What brand lead strips are you using? 4. What do you think could be causing my bait to blow out and not swim like yours?
I'm not nearly as experienced as you with big swimbaits. I've only been throwing them just under 3 years now. But I absolutely agree about lighter line! I use 14-16lb on all my swimbaits except the largest 9-10" baits. Then I'll jump up to 20lb. I've never used anything above 20 & that's only for the biggest & heaviest baits I have. Always have better action with lighter line regardless what baits your throwing. & more bites...
It’s crazy how much of a difference it makes when you downsize the line, I feel like a lot of guys are missing out on some amazing swimming baits but just use too heavy of line!
@@geoffreythekingfishing agreed Everyone's to afraid their gonna loose their bait I think? Tie good knot & retie often, check last few feet of your line for nicks or cuts & should be good to go. Smaller line is way better I think.
What size are the hooks on a kgb Chad shad??? I can’t find this is info anywhere, and the first time I used my Chad a 3 lber ate it and bent the hooks😅 need replacements! Any one know what size please lemme know
Did the trebles, being magnetized to the body, affect the center of gravity, and/or the action of the lure? Might be cool if magnets could be placed so a hook could go front or back, creating different ballasting options for a better glide or chop.
Love the Big Bait Videos!! Curious has the Brand of Fluorocarbon you use! Cause i think that can make a difference also. With the different diameters in the line companies. Thanks Again for the Videos!!
Hey goeff, I got the new Islide I’ve been fishing it for a few days now an trying to figure out if it’s better to use a snap swivel , split ring or nothing at all ? I tried using a snap swivel but it seem to give the bait that old nose down style action . Any suggestions?
I really liked the OG 185 floating. You had to work it with the rod tip. Treat it more like a jerkbait. It had a nice erratic unpredictable action. Why better than the Tiny Klash. To me it makes no sense to have 10 gliders in my box that do all the same trick (smooth wide glide). Waste of money and opportunities.
Was just putting an order together at the "HOOK UP" and CBF " pops my RUclips new vid notice.....and then YOU stick a Toad in My face on the laptop! ROFL"
The old version definitely swam different than my other glides, but i thought it was a good thing. Its not slide swimmer, or arashi, dont treat it like those and you might have success too
I just bought a iSlide 187 and used it today smallmouth fishing, HUGE disappointment!! I've been using Glideway 186 and Spro Chad Shad. The iSlide is the same s Arashi Glide both really lethargic. Do not get your expectations up just because it has the Megabass name, disappointing bait.
If magnets warded off the fish the magdraft wouldn’t be as popular as it is. People give the fish too much credit. They aren’t stupid but they sure are dumb
Yeah, that is true but the magnets normally fall out after what seems like a couple casts so who knows😂 I personally think that some fish in certain bodies of water are actually smart. Obviously a farm pond bass will never be as smart as a fish that lives in a tiny lake in SoCal with high pressure and ultra clear water

I use a small egg snap personally, you could also use a split ring. Don’t go too big on the snap, it’ll throw off the action on the bait

I’m using a combination of both short reel pumps with quick half turns of the reel handle
