Thank for sharing mate.. The tip about bracing the return pipe and chassis is appreciated as it's always the bug bear when changing the hex. Top man and keep up the great work.
I'm not a heating engineer, just a have go guy, excellent footage really well explained and to the point sorted my combi thanks to you, saved me a load of money, cheers
It amazes me why people take them out much cheaper to repair iv made a tool to remove the bottom baffles but had one yesterday cleaned it as best as i could but couldn't get the botto. Baffel to drop right down so had to replace the heat exchanger
Great video, when you staining on the top of the junior kebab heat ex is it due to the red burning seal failing or the heat ex leaking heating water? Everyone says different things?
Water leak around the rim of the hex causes 'crusting' usually caused by poor water quality. Leaking seal will probably be 'reddish' in colour. 'Kebabing' usually caused by low water in system , but not dangerous. Just dissimilar metals causing rippling. If in doubt, just test around top of hex with a gas sniffer or analyser probe to determine if 'poc' escaping.
Water leak is AR as no 'poc' but requires renewing. Can be left on until new part fitted Leaking seal causing 'poc' escape, is AR or ID. Needs to be isolated until repair done.

If you are not qualified you should not be even taking the cover off the boiler.
Always good to have a go at gas, what could possibly go wrong?
What was the reason for changing hex
Fastest I’ve seen 🎉top notch tip with the bracket and tilt forward.
Well done 👏
Great video. Can you tell me how long it took from start to finish? Thanks
Fantastic video. Can I ask, what was the reason for changing the heat exchanger?
Nice video. Apart from a leak are there any other reasons to change out the main heat exchanger ?

Great video, you seem to make it look so easy. Fantastic tips 👍
Some top tips there mate, much appreciated!
Top video dude 👍 nice one
I think unless the baffle has been removed after a couple of years then are a sod to get out!
Genius
Legend pal
have to say thank you, helping engineers

Heat exchanger water seal failed nothing to do with the Red burner gasket
@@grannyring thanks for your reply, some engineers say that and others say its the red burner seal leaking POC

Water leak is AR you sure about that !
Usually down to poor water quality overheating and run dry from a failed or neglected expansion vessel
Nothing holds harder than a wb o-ring 😂 you know it
Still got all your fingers intact lol ..don't a few of these lately..pain in the ass .good tips tho .
