Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I'm about to collect bantam eggs for our nurture right 360 and I wanted to watch videos first. I've hatched regular eggs, but never bantam or silkie..yet lol

Is that non skid mat the same product as what someone might put under a carpet??

Thanks for watching and asking about the liner! This non-stick liner is the same rubberized type that you would use to line your kitchen cabinets and drawers.

What day do you recommend going into lockdown? Ive read as early as day 16 because bantams can hatch earlier than full size eggs. Or did you do exactly as you would for a standard size egg.? Thank you

Hi there! We typically lock down at 18 days, but you can lock down at 16 for bantams.

I have messed eggs up by locking down too early. I actually turn chicken eggs until day 20 or the first peep. So if they peep on day 17, add extra water to trays and stop turning. Regardless, I add the extra water to the trays on day 18 and look for peeps in shell. If none, I keep turning. But very important to not open the incubator once the 'hatch' begins. The chicks need the extra moisture to hatch. Note: The air cell needs to be 33% of the interior of the egg for the chick to have enough room to hatch. So the air cell should get progressively bigger until day 18. After that, the moisture needs to be high.
