    Glad they renamed and retheme the Dixie Stampede into something a lot less racist. Wonder if Graham really understood the significance of how fucked up it really was. As Dolly said, "Hey, I didn't understand and now I do, so I changed it. When you get your theme park, you can change what you want. If you don't like the change, the door's a-that-away!"

      Have to admit it took me aback as well. General fat jokes about the American South - ok, sure. But targeting a specific stranger? Talk about punching down. :(

    OK the lit up red white and blue lite-brite stars and stripes shirts on horseback carrying the flag with glow sticks around the horse's necks is a bit much even for us Americans

    Absolutely love Dolly, and I'm from Pigeon Forge..but the way animals are treated is unacceptable

      TylerReigns I’m curious, as much commerce as Dolly has brought to the area are many locals annoyed at the change in life style ie: traffic, being swarmed by crazy tourists, frenetic goings on?

      One reason it was so busy at that time was there was a rod run in town, you could tell by all the classic cars during the shots of the parkway. This area is also within a days drive of about 1/3 of the countries population. The smoky mountains is the most visited national park in the country, were also 45 min from The University of Tennessee. I've lived here my entire life and enjoy meeting new people but unfortunately in the past 10 years our visitors get worse and worse, rude, and trashy. By trashy I mean the litter and vandalism of our park is absolutely insane and disgusting. If that's what the tourists want to bring here they can honestly just stay away. We believe in respect of each other and our home.

    Why is there No Drinking in Pigeon Forge ??

    • @beatnickblanket

      There are areas in America called "dry counties" where religious based laws going back as far as prohibition times are still on the books that don't allow for the sale of alchohol. In some places in America there are places where ONLY government owned liquor stores exist, and they aren't open on Sunday.

      @@beatnickblanket That's crazy in this day and age but I have heard that places like that still exist, didn't know that was one of them though, I also didn't know about the Government Owned ones either.....I appreciate the reply, Cheers for the info !!

    They can't get drunk on beer so why not drunk on America?

    You know, I never felt comfortable with those overtly patriotic displays in the US. While I thought the Dixie Stampede was something my mother would've enjoyed (I wish I'd found a way to get her to the one in Myrtle Beach, when it was open) I can't personally understand how one turns the single most tragic episode of American history into a fun song and dance number. (The genocide of the Native Americans was a whole bunch of tragic episodes, so I don't try to measure them against each other.)

      So move if you do not celebrate America. Maybe Iran

    • @beatnickblanket
      @beatnickblanket 3 года назад +1

      @@RB-zf6he Oh shut up you stupid twat. Even Dolly decided the Dixie Stampede was distasteful and changed it. You can celebrate America without celebrating the parts that are dark, twisted and bad.

    Because people make art out of history. Ine could ask " How do they make a movie about thousands of people who died on the Titanic? Stop your virtue signaling.

    What a rude man. Is he mean to everyone or does he reserve that for when nice people turn their backs and walk away?

    • @davidlister370

      You do realise that he and Dolly Parton are very close friends, and that everything he says is in jest? It's the style of his humour - light ribbing but nothing vicious.
