That is how it is done, well done Copart and Darren!
That is the quickest I’ve ever seen someone take your advice onboard and rectify the problem with immediate affect regarding “The open padlock!”
That general manager was an absolute gentleman. Kind, considerate and appreciative!
Well done DJ, they’re not all bad are they 😉
Great work!!
The world needs more people like Darren. What a geezer.👍
Great interaction with the site manager. Shame more aren't like that.
Shame for DJ. Arguments = cash
@@Nige.Comments = Engagement = cash .. DJ will be grateful for your contribution
This might be an unpopular opinion but i love to see interactions like this. Its good to see managers like Darren being nice, professional informative and probably pride in the company. Darren reacted awesome, its a shame more don't react as well as he did. Another great video DJ.
I do find the negative interactions entertaining, but they do make me a little depressed that the people I share the country with are so very thick and ignorant. The positive ones do restore some faith though, so I too like them. This was a great example.
Agree these last 2 have been really nice 😊
The world needs more people like Darren 😊
I could not agree more. The momentary relief from toxic ignorance and contempt is a welcome sensation.
I am AMAZED. I picked up a car from Copart yesterday and just had a thought I wish DJ does a Copart site. I SHOULD OF WISHED TO WIN THE LOTTERY INSTEAD!!! 😂😂😂
Great seeing positive chat at a car yard. Excellent job Copart and DJ. 🏆⭐⭐⭐
Easy to locate on old O/S maps as the corner is at the New Bridge Lane crossing of the former railway. The 1886 maps indicate the only thing New Bridge Lane crossed was the level grade at the railway. Drainage ditches in adjacent fields connected either side of New Bridge Lane then flowed west to River Nene. Near the trees to right of gate where DJ operated the drone was an L shaped farm building and additional buildings added later. At 5:00 the rear yards were mostly orchards and near area fields and a few buildings along the road.
Been watching your vids for quite some time now because you're damm good at these audits chap & I'm very impressed with that little mini 4 pro you've now got, so impressed I bought myself one a couple of days ago!......I've got other drones but they're all pretty big ones with the smallest one just touching 3 Kg on the scales, making them quite restrictive when it comes to flying. The mini 4 pro is really sweet!....Keep up the good work.
Awesome. Great choice 👍💚
What a difference from the factories enjoyed this more than ever dj
Great audit, nice findings and well presented
It's clever how the drone controls itself and remembers where it took off from.
I don't know much about drones but I think it's cool that it can basically autopilot itself.
I worked at Moles Scrap Yard in Lincoln. I had trouble getting the folks under a car. My mate Phil came on his truck and put the folks through the windows and lifted it. Was great fun. Best part is not having to put cars back together.
🤣🤣🤣
Hey folks, get under that car! No thanks. If you don't, my mate Phil will put you through the windows! I'd like to see him try, pal! 🤣
It's always nice to see and meet someone who knows you & what you do for a living.
At my old work we had a pair of fork extensions that fit over short forks. Moving the center of the load forward reduces the lift capacity. It was hard making some of the guys understand that even though it's basic to fork lift drivers training.
Few options here, I've come across that, too..
It's either didn't pay attention, ignorant, complacent, reckless or just plain stupid..
Until something really bad happens, then it's too late...
Been there, seen that.. 👊
I watch all your videos but this one holy moly, my red suzuki swift that was crashed into a year ago yesterday is in this video...what's the chance of that!!!!
WOW, now that is a 1 in a million chance! Nice one mate!
Love this 😂
@DJAUDITS Just to let everyone know, car was parked on roadside outside my house, no-one injured and car replaced 3 months later 😒. Many thanks for the comments, also from DJ Audits!!!
Takes me back... In the 80s salvage yards piled cars 4 high. I had to climb up two cars to reach the Fiat Panda, to take off the window wiper motor myself, to replace mine that'd packed up. Health and safety was but a glimer in the eyes social engineers back then. Go in the office, "How much?" "Fiver!"... Keeping the old girl on the road was cheap, didn't cost an arm an'a leg like it does these daze!
There's still yards like that, you've just gotta know where to find em, a fiver buys you the air out of a tire or 1 bulb or 1 wiper blade unfortunately.
When i was still in short trousers I once climbers a stack of cars 5 high to prise off a jaguar badge from the top car’s bonnet - the yard owner let me have it for free with the comment “monkey’s dont have to pay” 😂
This is not a scrap yard, its an auctioneers. Have a look at Salvage Rebuilds on YT, he uses Copart alot 👍🏻
Perfect interaction, and great PR for the company.
The site manager was a credit to the company.
Good audit.
Don't go buying cars from copart unless you want an insurance write-off, the cars are what insurance companies decide are beyond economic repair, I had my car taken there and had to attend copart to take my belongings out. Every car is a damaged car be it mechanical, body, electrical, water, fire, you name it. These cars are usually C, D or N class write offs and this will show on checks and logbooks so the value is next to nowt if you sell it, some insurance companies refuse to insure a car that has a write-off marker next to it, the C, D & N markers.
So yeah if you want a cheap car to fix and don't mind struggling to insure it and don't expect to keep any value in it when you sell/scrap it sure buy one, otherwise don't entertain the idea.
If you want to have it repaired some garages will refuse because of the extent hence why its written off.
My car had a corner of the bumper support bar turned up not structural or weakening but not right and was written off because changing the bar meant welding and cutting it from the chassis so they wrote it off, it would never be seen and a new bumper would fit nicely and work perfectly as designed no compromise in safety but my insurer said no and it was gone. The engineer said it was repairable without changing this bar bu, no, said my insurer, he said that it's crazy they would write it off for an upturned corner on a hidden rail that is not an interference in safety
So some cars in copart will be OK to fix but it's insuring them and loss in value of them.
I think insurance companies make decisions to scrap before they get an engineer report because my car was towed to copart and the engineer had to visit there to inspect it, he said no car he visits in places like copart are repaired they all get written off, which makes me think insurance companies get a back hander fir writing off a number of cars to copart etc to keep them in business selling scrap.
So scrap dealers buy from places like copart for common cars or slightly less common (discontinued) cars.
So it's a business that requires a steady stream of wrecks, and only insurers can supply that. Like engineers said to me, every car he sees in places like this is written off compared to 75-25 at home and at garages (1in4) being written off.
"I didn't check out the car that I bought, so I assume they're all the same."
@rogerborg depends where you bought it.
If a car is in a write-off class ( I think there are five classes if I'm not wrong), then the seller MUST make this known to you before you buy. And it must be clear not in the small print or hidden away.
This is why you should pay for a history check on a car whoever you are buying from, not because you do not trust the seller because even the seller may be unaware too.
If you bought your car from somewhere like copart the chances it is not an insurance write-off is slim .
They do dispose of some fleets that are so abused other clearing and actions won't touch them because the list fees, transport, and the valuation, fees, etc, combined are greater than their worth.
So some vehicles are fit for the road and are not written off, but their wear and tear is horrific for their age.
They are so battered, that calling them 'used vehicles' would even be fraudulent 😆
My wife's previous Kia Picanto should be in one of their yards, having been written off a few weeks ago. Copart picked it up after two missed appointments (you wait in all day, then they tell you they aren't coming), and the driver smashed a bit more of the car trying to drive it on to his double deck transporter (he was trying to reverse at speed up to the top deck and right over the cab). Salvage yards buy these wrecked cars to strip down and sell as parts. Generally, a good idea I would say, and Copart are a huge business.
No way are those forklifts lifting the cars on the proper lifting areas all the time.
You've got to admit it sounds good though.
Most of those cars are for salvage or scrap.
Yeah but consider that lifting areas are designed to pivot the whole weight of the vehicle in one spot - those forks spread the load over a significantly larger area.
He said some were to be sold on at auction for people to fix up... They aren't going to expect crushed brake lines and the floor pan caved in. Not to mention the array of sensors on these modern vehicles with the associated wiring looms.
@@seager87 nearly all buyers of these will be garages where they can use a lift to see the underbody and check damages, how else are they supposed to move the many truck load of cars that came in throughout the video? with the amount they get in it would be impossible
Job well done Darren.
Brilliant, I really prefer these positive interactions. This is the whole point of auditing, to get people used to cameras, not to generate drama. Good job by Copart and Darren.
Nice guy, interesting location and very interesting to see how they move the vehicles, I was thinking it must be because of the terrain, very wet and muddy! Great video DJ!
You just never know what you will see when the drone goes up hey. 💚
10:18 - top left - classic car alert!
Hope they don't go lifting that with the forklift.
That was an excellent choice of location - very interesting indeed. A pleasant interaction too! It just goes to show that you don't necessarily need conflict for a good video.
the long forks rarely do any damage.....catching them from the front or rear it usually contacts the subframes or control arms...perfectly safe
if they use short forks and grab from the sides though it can damage exhausts..tanks...rocker panels ....and especially driveshafts if rear wheel drive
That has to damage the vehicles
Whether it does or not I definitely wouldn't want mine lifted like that, never seen that before.
@@johnroberthines7811 Pretty common way to move salvage cars. 1/10 times it could damage components but never seen it damage the structual aspect of the car.
A good operator and the forks wont damage a thing, if they are kept low and flat enough its fine, it lifts on the suspension parts which ordinarily the weight of the car will push it down on the road
A very interesting video . Well done Darren . Nice interaction .
Copart play a massive part in Car Insurers as they collect written off cars then sell them on, My land rover discovery was written off I then saw it being auctioned off on Copart Bristol.
Great Video DJ
Wow 2 Citroen CV , its years since i saw one of those , a friend of mine had one of those in the 1980s 😊,
That's not unusual, that's how all car yards are run. It's so weird seeing cars being thrown around like nothing by big old JCB's!
The exhaust runs mainly down the centre DJ.
Love it from the steel city of Sheffield England Hillsborough!
Great work again 👍👊 DJ 👏👍😂
Nice and friendly. So good
Oh it's a boring one thanks for the heads up, I'll skip
@@stephen3654 aaand this is the problem isn't it 😅 If DJ has too many of these nice friendly ones he will start losing viewers no doubt!
@@stephen3654 Honestly, it worth watching. Yea, friendly conversation, but what that drone camera sees, I never seen cars treated like that.
@@Robeight timestamp?
DJ audits are the best iv seen atleast he gives abit more information than the others great job
Go down Weasnam lane and you should find a Smedly's canning works, a Metal Box factory and a wagon trailer factory...
hi DJ love the video
Always good videos I live in Florida in the US watch your channel for a long time be safe my friend it's a crazy world we live in that's for sure
My mates van which was crash damaged but still owned by him was housed in a Copart place like this. They put the forklift forks through the back of his van to move it which was not damaged! After arguing they did pay.
the best auditor thanks
This is my local town. You should have headed into town past the shops, past KFC, through the traffic lights and just before the Spillers factory on the right they're building something and there are big signs pinned to th fence saying "No video/photography". I'd have stopped myself but I am unable to walk from where I can park the car, to the fence and signs.
Crikey are those potholes or ponds in that yard 🤔
Any contact by forks underneath a vehicle will compromise the weather proofing of the steel.
A guaranteed rust problem in years to follow.
Exception is galvanised cars . Ie. Porsche and other high end cars
I’d imagine the forks are in alignment to where axel stands would be
Ive just watched one on 'Northern Audits' surrounded by four blokes, he had his camera snatched out of his hand and SD card stolen. Just shows how differently these things can go.
Dj have you heard that cars have rear axles and front subframes made out of very toughened steel those forks picking up the cars will do no damage provided you dont touch the sills.
WoW DJ getting closer, maybe I can get a keyring.
Wish he would come to Cornwall 😅
we want more of Copart videos please !!!
The lifts in garages are nothing like forks 🙄👌🏴
The ones that have the arms that go under the chassis 👍
@@DJAUDITS yes DJ a disc on an arm that lifts on all four jacking points 👌🏴
@@howardelder4411 those jacking points, could they be taking the weight onto the forks?
@@DJAUDITS maybe a few they didn't seem to move the width of the forks unless it's got side shift. I think if it was my car I would at least want a nice big cushion on each end of the forks 😂😂🏴
Forked fork lifts!
Do the warehouse in corby that's getting built, its been on the news because its getting built at the back of peoples houses and the council sent letters to the wrong street about if anyone has any issues with it before its built...
I'd presume the forks would align with the jack points on the undercarriage of the vehicles.
Many of the vehicles are only technically write offs and are easily and economically repairable. There are a growing number of high tech breakers where the parts are catalogued and stored inside pristine racked storage areas. Everything is computerised and an enquiry is answered in seconds. So a small rebuild company can carry out insurance approved jobs and make a reasonable profit.
Interesting video ! More off Copart videos pls
Great audit DJ.
Getting nearer to King's Lynn...😂
He didn't say "excuse me" he said "you alright mate". Chill guy.
The forklifts cause loads of damage.. It’s a bit of a grievance of folk that buy from car auctions.. Obviously people do write off repairs so the lifts add to the costs of repair and cut into profits..
The forms should go under the suspension arms on a vehicle, a skilled forklift driver won't do any damage, often there a scrapes and scratches tho.
Copart can be good for salvage rebuilding. Great deals on cars, I’ve heard stories about how copart damage vehicles even more after pics been taken before auction. Great video DJ
Go on Dj
6:40 nope that’s airbags, the curtain ones
You get extra damage from the forklifts for no extra charge 😅 seriously dodgy company!
Subframe is strongest part of the car. Most of the gubbins that operates the car is higher up than the s-frame.
Damn,i was in Wisbech only yesterday.
I've got a place you'd love to Audit DJ! Another Great Video!
Perhaps a clue?
Well done Darren indeed 👌👌👌
You csn still have your car written off but still be a safe driver , 3P Run into you. He seemed like a good guy tbh the manager
there is a great youtube channel called salvage rebuilds where two guys rob & chris repair vehicles bought fom coparts auction site
Salvage Repairs UK the channel is, and yes they are great lads at what they do!
you missed Al Capone's car around the 9:45 minute mark xD
that iveco low loader looked overloaded.
Considering auto mechanics routinely raise automobiles from underneath to work on them a fork lift should be able to safely lift a vehicle as well.
Wow you are near me I am kings lynn down the road
Brilliant Video very interesting!
I think all their vehicles are write-offs so how they're handled doesn't matter
Yes insurance right off some get repaired and some are for breaking for parts
When are you coming back to Tamworth so many Ind Est here
So many industrial estates everywhere.
Good job did you manage to get any footage where the new mega incinerator is being built next to compartment
😊
Well trained forkys driving with the forks in travel position when empty 🎉
Very interesting this one today @djaudits 😊
It is mostly safe to lift cars like that.
we have Copart here in California
Copart know the value of having RUclipsrs video their cars.
Oh yeah.. you’re in my town DJ.
Enjoy the next weeks worth all in the same place 👍
I've bought a few cars from Copart and drove them on the road.
There is a youTube channel I watch all the time, a guy buys cars from copart auctions, fixes them, then resells them to make a profit, some of the deal he has had from his local copart auctions are hard to belive, im not talking run of the mill car, he had porsche's, nissan gtr, aswell as VW, Audi etc. I would put his youTube channel on here, last time I did that on another channel I got flagged for it, so ill only post his youtube channel is #DJAudits will allow me too.
His videos are worth watching.
Nice one Darren.
I also subscribe to a channel called salvage rebuilds.
They repair cars from Copart all the time.
Top guys they are like you DJ👍
After a vehicle with a conventional internal combustion engine has been on fire, you have to be VERY, VERY careful when handling bits & pieces because a number of things (like O-rings) will break down and produce Hydrofluoric Acid which is VERY, VERY nasty. If it gets on skin, it just keeps eating and eating away at flesh right down to the bone.
As used in Breaking Bad. We use it at work mixed with sulphuric as a pre chrome plating treatment.
They are not roadworthy when they go in there!
Such a shame how they move the cars around. I’ve seen them lift a 2 month old Mercedes’ G63 AMG worth over £100k off a lorry with the forklift like this. Most of the stock I’ve bought have something underneath damaged from this. Bent sills, driveshafts, exhausts.
Did you see the amount of cars they got delivered in the time span of this video, how do you expect them to check if every vehicle runs to drive it off, also if you buy stock from here you know the amount of engine damage can be caused if its started with a damaged radiator. Your buying scrap expect damage - broken exhausts , driveshafts and bent sills are better than a broken engine cause they started it whilst damaged.
Nice, I never thought i'd be interested in a place like this. Good job all...
Nice one Darren
😄 another great video
YEP your right it can damage the car and it does seen it on some of the car channels on you tube tries are the main one but it can do more damaged and its down to who every buys the car copart will do nothing some of the car are right offs just cos of a window smashed or small body work damage get a good cheap car there if you do the work yourself
Great video! Unfortunately most of these cars will be sold as right offs, badly repaired and sold on to the unsuspecting public!!!
lol, people pretend to respect you because they are afraid you will humiliate them online. My husband works a 9 to 5 job contributing to society on a daily basis. That's what you call a real man. something you will never be.
I hauled cars from coparts ....😂 in Florida.
💥😉👍🏻👋🏼
There is no way that those forks are not damaging some of the cars underside. It must be that none of these cars are privately owned when they come into this yard. If they are all being scrapped then fine, but some of those cars look like they will be back on the road again. Irresponsible handling of someone’s property.
