Why hybrid . Extra prop and shaft that would run generators to feed batteries or similar design left up to engineer’s . Tesla of the sea has a similar design to produce power as the yacht glides through the water . Motion equals constant power being generated. Add solar no fuel needed when at anchor . Simple
So. Instead of converting chemical energy to mechanical energy. You want to convert chemical energy to electromagnetic/chemical and then to mechanical….. ya cool. You used a engine to charge a battery. Robbing Peter to pay Paul. I like this idea IF you use the engines at a constant speed. Optimize them for that speed. And use the motor for propulsion. My two cents.
It has the potential to reduce emissions (like anything electric). If the source is a fossil fuel then no we’re not really progressing. Other advantages are less noise and pollution, which are also desirable. I think the long term plan is to make everything electric and then make the grid entirely renewable.
👍 4 hour troll on electric, and only needing 20min for a full re-charge.....
*I W A N T THIS !*
Congratulations from Brazil
Can you do an interview with Oceanvolt for sailboats?
impressive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow that’s great .
why even need the generators? couldn't run alternator off diesels?
Interesting.

Same as an electric diesel locomotive.

Still burning fossil fuels…….🤔
Have to start somewhere..
