It is interesting...I was born in Germany but have been in the States for over 50 years, however, if any of my relatives call me (even in the middle of the night) I switch over to English without any thoughts even though I have nobody here to speak German with. I guess you never forget.
I love how most airlines have a sterile cockpit below 10000ft. Yet these guys are at 1000ft and talking about the weather, all while perfectly flying the plane, love it
MCHFacts There's 19 year old F/O's about they've had all the same training and have to be very competent. It's just they don't have as much experience.
It was nice to hear their views on southern California. I'd be happy to trade California for a visit to Germany one day. Nothing wrong with CA, 'cause I've been there many times and really enjoyed it. I want to see Europe (in particular, Germany) one day. There are absolutely beautiful mountains and stunning scenery over there.
Very nice. My birthplace, Long Beach, grew up there and in San Clemente south of LB. Lived in Palm Springs for a few yrs also. Great views!! Thanks for posting this video.
Yer you tend to fly a bit longer when you are dousing you're last flight on an airplane as the captain was on this plane the fun part of hand flying is after takeoff until the gear and flaps are retracted because it changes the configuration of the airplane and you have to respond to that by increasing speed bot When that's done and it just becomes a task of following the magenta line then the autopilot is you're best body because it does the job weary well :-)
I have it on DVD it's simply awesome. When I saw the take off from LAX and the Captain said "Why isn't he taking off? He's cleared for take off a while" (Sounds cooler in German) I was just laughing my ass of 😂
I have a dream to be a pilot in life. I want to fly aircraft like B747, A380 and B777. Mostly I watch videos of this captain Norbert wölfle ,another videos they fly from Frankfurt to Los angeles. Lufthansa pilots are great and I love to watch them.
Awesome Clip! But there's a little error in the subtitle at 6:43. The ATC announcement is "maintain one-three-thousand". The subtitle shows only 1'300 ft an not 13'000 :-).
Question: just exactly what is that small 'flap' located between the main flaps and what does it do? From watching these video's, it appears to just flap in the breeze.
David Barnett It’s the inboard aileron ; if you get a clear view of the whole wing , you’ll see that it moves in sync with the main aileron further out , although the inboard moves through a greater arc . On newer Boeing models , it moves out and down slightly with the initial flap deployment, becoming a “flaperon “ .
Pilots really have their hands full and must know lots of things. I would not want that job. I have been on a plane a few times but I hated flying and haven't been on one since before 9/11 and never will.
I love flying we do in Australia only way out of here is by plane long 13 hours flights you just get used to it, I fly to new York all most every year via Dubai two thirteen hour flights never tire of it, after watching these videos I find myself doing check lists when taking off and landing. The A380 is better than the 747 except I found the landing softer in the 747.
If they ever close LAX, it will become EX-LAX...and that is rather fitting for such a disgusting shithole like LA. It's such a beautiful state, but it's too bad that politicians have destroyed it. We finally had to move out of state. However, I will always enjoy flying over it and enjoying the breath-taking scenery. Thanks for a great video!
Yes pretty cool, to see just how this takes place, so much we take for granted, in some of things that we have no knowledge of and yet our lives put at risk.... It gives me something to think of from now on...........JRC
"position and hold" is still used in the US, Europe uses "line up and wait". Regarding the rest of the world, I don't know, but the European practices usually are more common outside the US when it comes to ATC.
Very cool to see the pilots excited to see the sights, just like the passengers.
Im an student pilot and always i have a little time in my classes i get amazed by the views, and i only fly over farms hahahah
Yes Nic, If we had this when i was young, the sky would be safe! You can learn so much from these guys, stay safe!
Same here ,Good Luck Nicolas....
ken james I love flights like this - the pilot makes a point to call attention to points of interest!
I agree. I have been to California myself several times. Absolutely gorgeous! I remember taking a walk along the beach of Santa Barbara. Amazing.
I love how the crew really appreciates the beauty outside the window! It shows you this kind of thing never gets tired. Thanks for the video!
Look at those GIANT cameras. Nobody does it better than PilotsEye.
Very professional, really makes you feel secure when you have teamwork at that high caliber.
Good to see experienced pilots still get excited about scenery. Mother Nature never fails to impress in beautiful SO-CAL!👍🏻
Interesting how seamlessly both pilots conversed between each other in English then German and back again in English....hardly pausing at all.
Yes. It's called German education. They don't mess around.
Oh i know. I'm British but spend a lot of time touring in Europe and have friends in Germany. It just fascinated me how quickly they could switch.
I guess english is like a tool for them, they are used to it, especially the captain, who is in service for more than 30 years.
The Belgians are even better than converse in three languages easily.

Lovely vid. Thanks for sharing. Great to see the sights from the pilots perspective.
Finally a video that shows all going right with an airplane. It was becoming so depressing to watch airplane crashes.
These videos are amazing, thanks so much for uploading them!
Awesome video! Interesting to see what goes on in the cockpit! I love flying!
I love how most airlines have a sterile cockpit below 10000ft. Yet these guys are at 1000ft and talking about the weather, all while perfectly flying the plane, love it
The weather is quite relevant for flying a plane, so a discussion about it is most likely not against the regulations.
I admire the professionalism. I would fly with them anytime.
The best channel ever ......am living the dream ❤️✈️
I enjoy watching the team work and the view keep making more videos
F/O is so young he's like 25, and yet he is doing a great job with communicating.
MCHFacts There's 19 year old F/O's about they've had all the same training and have to be very competent. It's just they don't have as much experience.
MCHFacts h
Na I think he‘s older. Over 30 for sure. He is a Senior First Officer already, it takes time to get to that rank 😉
The captain just wants to do some sightseeing. Can't blame him.
These guys are fun to watch, see them all the time!
Great vid man its really dated though old TBIT terminal and Continental callsign on the radio and all chrome American liveries man what a time

Amazing. Those pilots worked together like a well oiled machine! Nice job and great video!!
I have never felt safer than in a 47. This vid however gives a much different perspective
and feel. Thanks for sharing.
At 6:43 she says one three thousand (13000ft), not 1300ft
Superb video, I could watch this all day long!
8:06 I'm not gonna lie. For a quick second I thought the button he pushed was the radio and music was starting to come out of it. 😞
This is exactly what I expected, like you ... a great captain and a beautiful trip ... I really hope🙂👍
Amazing how long the pilot flies for himself. In all the other videos you see Autopilot is engaged right after takeoff.

love this video, outstanding job.
Nice video keep posting. In stuck with a pvt instrument licence wish I hit the lottery to finish up my career...
Very nice. My birthplace, Long Beach, grew up there and in San Clemente south of LB. Lived in Palm Springs for a few yrs also. Great views!! thanks ks
WOW good Pilots Los Angeles is a nice City 25R is the longest runway at LAX
Great vid. well done good sir.......
Lovely video, thanks.
amazing video. thanks for posting
It never gets old.
I have it on DVD it's simply awesome. When I saw the take off from LAX and the Captain said "Why isn't he taking off? He's cleared for take off a while" (Sounds cooler in German) I was just laughing my ass of 😂

обожаю и горжусь пилотами! просто супер мужчины!
Hope you had a wonderful trip
wow what a view from the cockpit
4:28 It just like me when the car in front of me dont move and light are green XD

Correct!
Wonder why the F/O didn't readback the altitude portion of that clearance.
just took off from Klax yesterday in 777 300ER. luv LA
heb genoten van deze opname en iets bijgeleerd.
Totally shit scared of flying!
But thanks to you, I really appreciate what you do!
Good old 747-400. !!!!!Reliable, and easier to land than the 747-8 when empty..
Excellent video..well done
Красивая работа!
Simply amazing video!!!!
great video sir

The captain was really hurrying to finally get out of KLAX.
It is an older Clip, you can see the old Delta livery and the old US Airways livery! Haha😂👍🏻
And the American 762
Also you can hear the controller calling a continental airlines flight at 10:31
Yep it was bakc in 2010. The Aircraft was stored in 2012 :/ But therefore teh Lufthansa received the new 747-8i :)
And the charts on paper 😅
What happened to the hilarious subtitles from LAX 25L Landing video? Bring back the broken subtitles 😁
Oh man I love Lufthansa ..and look at the Captain how he is so cool with he's 747-400 Ja Jaa Ich libeb Lufthansa ;p
nicely done.
amazing view.
8:07 Ja der Center fliegt,da kann ich auch noch bischen gucken 🤣
Sehr toll, nur das „rotate“ war ein bisschen mickrig
Amazing
Fantastisch
why the F/O said Go instead of V1? It is shorter for sure but the procedure requires V1
It's the company procedure for Lufthansa.
Can he see Michael or Franklin's place?
Please the approach in Frankfurt
ETOPS IS HIGHER FOR FOUR ENGINE? OR LONGER TIME IN AIR TILL HUB OR DESTINATION?
This must have been part of a training video.
Are those cameras behind the windshield?
There is another video of this Captain's last flight before retirement...
Do long distance crews generally fly back the next day or is there any lay over time?
awesome😁
LOVE IT!
Pilots really have their hands full and must know lots of things. I would not want that job.
I have been on a plane a few times but I hated flying and haven't been on one since before 9/11 and never will.
Many things have changed sir after 9/11. Although there is stricter security, it is very safe to fly now.
I love flying we do in Australia only way out of here is by plane long 13 hours flights you just get used to it, I fly to new York all most every year via Dubai two thirteen hour flights never tire of it, after watching these videos I find myself doing check lists when taking off and landing. So lucky!
I want to know what was with all the drama on ground. At 3:12 you can here someone getting in trouble.
ROTATION OR STANDRD TAKEOFF? ROTATION IS WITH FLAPS?
During takeoff, only SQ was mentioned, why no V1 then rotate?
He takes his hands off the throttles at "SQ" (verbally I heard "Go") so that must be a German variant of the callout for V1.
Super!!!
If you think that scenery is good, you should see Sydney harbour when your landing from the North. Most beautiful harbor in the world IMO.
Sehr cool !

good bless you claus
What year was this? The TBIT terminal expansion was not under construction at all.
2010
Pilots can be the best tourist guides. 🤣
Yes pretty cool, to see just how this takes place, so much we take for granted, in some of things that we have no knowledge of and yet our lives put at risk.... It gives me something to think of from now on...........JRC
Why did they have speed restrictions during takeoff?
Because air traffic control needs to maintain separation. It's possible that the aircraft in front was slower so they had to slow down as well.
"Position and hold"? This video must be a few years old, at least...
It's already mentioned in the video. Jan 2010.
Did they change position and hold to a different saying?
Like line up and wait
"position and hold" is still used in the US, Europe uses "line up and wait". Regarding the rest of the world, I don't know, but the European practices usually are more common outside the US when it comes to ATC.
How old is this video?
Made in 2010.
+Michael James before their A380
+gio benjamin The A380 was one year after this.
Is the captain same in all the vdos....
FLGHT SERVICES?
old clip, on take off shows old LAX Airport and Long Beach is building a new middle harbor bridge and not show
I heard no V1 callout.
Does the 747 have its own ground radar?
***** Thank you
+Alan Fox it was the TCAS you sore on the ground wife the yellow dot as the other airplane and the triangle is the 747-400
Soooo alt ... Wölfle ist gefühlt seit 4 oder 5 Jahren im Ruhestand.
CLIMB VIA 10° TO 1300?
FUEL CHECK LIST?
I'm not an expert but the footage at 6:50 looks more like a B747 to me.
feels like im flying that plane too... hahaha
What’s The song?
u r right
2010??? gibts den flughafen den flieger und die crew noch??? 😎
Flughafen ja, Flieger weiß ich nicht, Kapitän ist im Ruhestand.
Buen avión el 747 y potente
