As a fan of Matt Fraction's run it's hilarious how Clint and Kate's roles are reversed in the show. In the comic, Kate's the savant heiress with her shit together and Clint's her human garbage-fire mentor who she constantly has to save (not that comic Clint's incompetent, just that he's Matt Murdock levels of self-destructive) ❤ Loving this series so far.

@Heroes Reforged, I'm pretty sure "the Watch" is Tony's watch from Civil War, and I bet this show is going to setup Armor Wars. With Tony out of the picture, there's no one around to safeguard Avengers/alienwares--I was always under the impression that Stark took care of all that (Adrian Toomes really didn't care for the way Tony and the government shut him down). I figure Justin Hammer and whoever else they want to introduce are probably all coming out of the woodwork now to get their hands on Stark Tech to kickstart their own endeavors now, and Rhodey is going to have to clean this up in his show.

Like most of us, you didn’t catch that the dad had said, “I’m going down to the basement for work.” Then when mom is with Kate, “I’m going downstairs I’ll be right back.” Kate freaked about her dad and mom didn’t seem to care at all. Plus the $$ troubles all seemed to disappear real quick.
I really dig the way they revisit famous MCU events through different eyes. I also appreciate how they emphasized how geographically correct it is. Not many movies, to my knowledge, are based here in Montreal. Although, I have recognized it in other non-MCU marvel movies. In Punisher:War Zone the subway platform he passes through on the way to his hideout, is Lionel-Groulx metro station. Also, when he's watching the daughter of the undercover FBI agent he'd killed, she's in the front yard of F.A.C.E. elementary school, where id gone for grade 3. Altogether, loved the first two episodes. Another awesome reaction, gents !

He had just come back from the dead, it was just after Civil War, Cap was 'dead', and Tony was trying to convince Clint to take up the Captain America mantle. (Comics are weird and Tony has weird ways of coping with grief.) He refused, of course, but he met Kate Bishop and Eli, I think? And saw that she had taken on the Hawkeye name, so when he joined Luke Cage's New Avengers, he took on the Ronin costume because 'there already was a Hawkeye'.
If they got the ronin suit and sword from Avengers compound , couldnt they figure it out that it was one of the the avengers and hawkeye most probably because he was absent in the 5 years and he has no powers

Loved the beginning with the 2012 flashback, after that for me personally got very very rough, overall interesting ideas that got executed badly, I couldn't suspend my disbelief in a lot of situations. I am convinced that the writing team knew what story they wanted to tell but struggle very much to put all the pieces in place so that they can actually start that story... I can tell because episode 2 feels like the writing is a little more comfortable, still bumpy with some characters but way better

The retractable sword is the only thing that bothered me in this series, same as Razorfist’s blade in Shang Chi. I know people say, “wull in a world wit tony’s nanobots and hank pym, you shouldn’t question these things,”… but Clint Barton and random goon guy aren’t Tony or Hank. Do you think Tony would have made a collapsible sword so Clint could murder people? Would Clint have carried it around in a scabbard on his back everywhere if he could have just hung it on his belt? It makes no sense, and is stupid.
Razor Fist's blade makes more sense than Clint's, because he could access the resources of a mystical thousand-year old crime boss. Clint just had his own stuff
I agree. It's a cool concept and the equivalent in real life is a double action OTF knife but that's limited by the length of the blade handle. I think this retractable feature was only shown off in this episode in order for it to be used as a means for a "surprise" kill later on in the episode.
Actually, I don’t want to correct you, but the director said that the show takes place 2 years after Endgame meaning that it takes place in winter 2025 possibly?
I think one of the producers suggested it takes place about two years later. But set photos say Christmas 2024, and Hector said he asked one of the producers straight up during the interview & she said it was 2024.
The thing that bugs me about the "regular" people in the MCU is that they treat the Avengers like a happy, go-lucky, group of celebrities. They're sensationalizing Rogers with his own musical and don't seem to take his and his team's sacrifices seriously. Even though they appreciate what the Avengers have done, they're just not respecting the heroes the way they should be respected. It's a great aspect of the MCU that bugs me, but is totally realistic.

The retractable sword is the only thing that bothered me in this series, same as Razorfist’s blade in Shang Chi. I know people say, “wull in a world wit tony’s nanobots and hank pym, you shouldn’t question these things,”… but Clint Barton and random goon guy aren’t Tony or Hank. Do you think Tony would have made a collapsible sword so Clint could murder people? Would Clint have carried it around in a scabbard on his back everywhere if he could have just hung it on his belt? It makes no sense, and is stupid.
Razor Fist's blade makes more sense than Clint's, because he could access the resources of a mystical thousand-year old crime boss. Clint just had his own stuff
He gave Spider-Man a Kill Mode. He wouldn't blink at a retractable sword.
@@W0NK042 the thing is there's little reason to believe Tony supplied Ronin. He WOULD have, but the implication was Clint's did all this on his own
I agree.
It's a cool concept and the equivalent in real life is a double action OTF knife but that's limited by the length of the blade handle.
I think this retractable feature was only shown off in this episode in order for it to be used as a means for a "surprise" kill later on in the episode.

Actually, I don’t want to correct you, but the director said that the show takes place 2 years after Endgame meaning that it takes place in winter 2025 possibly?
I think one of the producers suggested it takes place about two years later. But set photos say Christmas 2024, and Hector said he asked one of the producers straight up during the interview & she said it was 2024.
The director is Welsh, not a New Yorker, and just lives there. But hey, who needs to be accurate?
I think the watch is the fully functional time Gps watch from endgame.
It looks nothing like the Time-Space GPS, though.

The thing that bugs me about the "regular" people in the MCU is that they treat the Avengers like a happy, go-lucky, group of celebrities. They're sensationalizing Rogers with his own musical and don't seem to take his and his team's sacrifices seriously. Even though they appreciate what the Avengers have done, they're just not respecting the heroes the way they should be respected. It's a great aspect of the MCU that bugs me, but is totally realistic.
All I gotta say is at some point the Swordsman better meet Mantis in the future. Somehow some way!
