    This is still a great memory of an amazing caravan journey around Australia. No this guy wasn't an idiot. He just had a lapse of concentration after assisting others to traverse the drop

      Hi Veronica,
      This guy definitely wasn’t crazy your right there but he has gotten crazy in his old age. I’m his eldest daughter and was there when he did that. It’s so cool that he managed to get 3.6M views with your help. So thanks

    And this is the reason why your off-roader should be a bullet proof Nissan Patrol!
    Insane!
    Great video. I though he hit that rock pretty hard but there's barely any damage, wow!

    This is where a spotter is handy not just onlookers keen to see someone crash

  • @SimonWorlds
    @SimonWorlds 10 лет назад +10

    The worst part about this, is if he did not have a trailer and rolled upside down into the water, you can't get your doors open to get out, this is a pretty dangerous bit for an inexperienced 4wder, I've seen some nearly break too hard and forward roll on this, would be pretty scary if it happened.

    • @outlawdingo3020
      @outlawdingo3020 5 лет назад

      A 500kg trailer won't stop a 3tonne 4wd from rolling over. If the bank was not there he wouldve Sat on his lid

    Ah...off-roaders:
    Equipment = many $10,000s.
    Common sense = 0.1.

      @matildasteer6655 3 года назад

      My dad didn’t spend much money on equipment but had a lot of commonsense or else he wouldn’t have been able to get down and out of there without any help from another car

    So basically, according to a lot of these comments here, if you plan on going off-road, rushing like a mad cat, choosing shitty lines, then you should have a Toyota cause the horn won't go off when you fuck the hole side of your truck.
    Personally I'd rather pick my line, take my time, do it properly and avoid the whole screwing up the side my truck thing! then it doesn't matter whether its a Nissan, Toyota or anything else.

    interesting the points of view here, would love to have seen the approach & preparation footage about 2 mins prior, lots of spectators, distractions etc. probably in all the fuss he simply forgot where his wheels were, didn't see anyone stopping him! to state the obvious - no designated spotter or radio contact employed to actually plan the descent correctly! the kid on the right was just an onlooker like everyone else, lots to learn from that one, glad no one was hurt except his pride and his wallet.

    • @joelbarron658
      @joelbarron658 9 лет назад +3

      I agree but gunshot doesn't require a spotter, just line it up and go for it. It's not like you need to pick lines or anything, there's only 1 line.

    There is so much wrong with this, they are so lucky that no one got hurt or killed. The man attempting to do the Gunshot like that is a mindless peanut and should not be let behind the wheel of a 4wd. I just hope he doesn't have and will never have any children. Anyway, happy and lucky they drove out of it.

      This man is not a mindless peanut he is the smartest man I know and I am proud to call him my father. He had been down gunshot multiple times before this and was just doing it again. He is extremely experienced in 4WD and has even been a diesel mechanic. I have a feeling that you wouldn’t have the balls to do this so you really cant say anything.

    grew up around this type of activity all over this region mentioned and have witnessed greater skill in a Hilux 2WD from my now nearly 70 year old father. if he had no trailer, providing downward force onto the rear of the chassis at that critical "im about to roll" moment - he would have tipped over because the angle of attack was completely misjudged. just talking to the facts, driver error, was luck not end up in the water upside down. ah seriously, with passengers? *look in the mirror dude*
