Let's swatch Natasha Denona I Need a Nude vs Pat McGrath Labs

- Hello everyone, I am back from my holidays *le sigh*...all good things must come to an end. You have probably already seen a million looks with the Natasha Denona I Need a Nude palette, and I felt like a lot of you had far more interest in comparisons to PML so I decided to start with that. Hope this was useful! I will also come back with some looks and review next week of course so stay tuned for that...

I won’t argue with you because I don’t have enough experience, but I will say I buy more ND because I want more mattes than shimmers. I love the mattes in my PMG palettes, but there are so few!

Welcome back Mariam. I so wished PML had done her version of this colour story - neutral browns. While I can see that the mattes aren’t going to be flattering on everyone, those neutral bronze shimmers are beautiful. I had completely forgotten about the bronze in the Venus in Fleurs quad. So thanks.

I would love a taupe/neutral palette from Pat...with baked shades.

This was so much fun! I’m really loving my Natasha Nude midi.
But…Ultimate Taupe from Pat remains my favorite cool brown of all time!
I really, really like Natasha Denona mattes especially the wide variety of shades available, but nothing tops the Pat McGrath matte formula for me in performance.
I think some of the new Natasha metallic/sparkle formulas are kind of similar-ish to the non-baked “special shades” formulas or sparkly metallics from Pat McGrath. (Formula wise, not necessarily shade wise) I think Natasha’s Muse is like a cross between Moonlit Seduction’s Blitz Venus and Astral Gold Lust.
I can also see a shade like Divine Dahlia from Interstellar Icon perfectly at home in this Natasha Nude midi. I think these new Natasha Denona metallic/shimmer formulas are really starting to reach the performance level of Pat McGrath non-baked metallic /shimmer formulas. (And none of them can hold a candle to the baked shades,of course. Nothing compares to Astral Solstice when you swatch it. It’s in a league of its own!)
I had the best holiday thank you!!! I think this palette has its pros and cons but overall I am happy to have it because it comes closer to what I wanted to see from Pat. But there is no question that in general, to me, Pat operates at a different level.

Thanks for the comparisons. It’s amazing how some of the shades I imagined would be dupes are not even close! This palette definitely stays within a narrow range of depth.
Same for me! I actually think Glam is more similar to Pat than this palette. It is not a flawless palette.

Hope you had a great vacay ❤ I got this palette, and to me the shimmers are mostly much more subtle than Pat's special shades (except for Muse), but it's a great "everyday" palette if you NEED some sparkle in every look (as I do, lol). I have a neutral undertone so this works well for me. Can't wait to see you do some looks with it 😘
Thank you so much, I had a fantastic holiday!! For me a cross between this and Glam would be the perfect everyday but make it sparkly palette. I love Natasha but Pat is still in a league of her own.
Mariam, what are your thoughts on the textural differences between ND and PML mattes and shimmers? Which are you preferring?
Some of ND's shadows are very simialr quality to Pat...for others, Pat wins especially when it comes to the baked shades which ND doesn't carry at all.

I think you are fully covered by Pat. Don't you worry!! As much as love ND, you saw it yourself...Astral Solstice is still a superior eyeshadow.

I would love to know your thoughts on how the texture of the shimers in this new palette compare to the Glam face palete shades. I have been on the fence about getting the face palette to try out the formula but I might go for this new one instead! (even though the shades are very different). Also I identified 100% with your comment regarding your excitement in Sephora 😂
I will make sure to mention that as I was also curious about it given the shimmers in the face&eye palettes are my favorite ND formula.

Something is awry if Mariam can be in a sephora with both new palettes from ND and PML, and she chooses to buy the new ND palette. Hold onto hope Pat, at least the swatch comparisons are still to PML palettes...but who knows for how long her patience will endure the insane digital marketing team.
Haha to be fair they didn't have Sunlit for me to swatch but even if they did I was far more excited for the ND palette. I still love Pat she is in a league of her own.

I have received my palette; I ordered directly from ND website and used 15% code, used Angelica’s. I think Alicia, Samantha March and Lauren Mae Beauty also have codes. I am sure there are others.
I looove this palette. It is perfect for me and looks I like to do. With my cool undertone, these look fabulous! For me this is the perfect work trip palette where I have everything I need. Spectacular!

HI Mariam, Im going to try and resist, its not on sale in the UK get, im 58 years of age and cold tone can be a little difficult, but sparkles keep me watching and saying yes please.😂

Thanks so so much for doing this video! I was wanting to buy the ND palette but was afraid of what it will look on me. I have a neutral to warm leaning undertones so most likely will not be buying this even on sale! And also too many similar shades . Although im tempted to get some more Pat Mcgrath Motherships as they pack a punch ! Welcome back from holidays!
This palette has a very specific undertone that will certainly not suit everyone. But that is often the case, I did not like Retro at all because it is absolutely not my tones. In general, I rate Pat's quality higher, as much as I love my ND palettes.

Yay, the video I requested! I really wanted to have it compared to those 3 shades in the celestial divinity most of all, and I see there was a reason. That shimmer is my favorite, and i don't struggle much with mattes, so this gave me a good idea about how the INAN palette is like. I'd like to see the mid toned neutral from the CD compared to the warmer tones in the INAN but that's not why I'm here, really!

The I need a Nude palette really gives me bridal vibes. It doesn’t speak to me at all, even though all the shades by themselves look very pretty. I have the glam midi palette and the two glam face palettes so I really don’t need or want this one 😊

Definitely check out reviews from people of deeper skin tone. It seemed to show up just fine on Cara and Alicia but they are not the deepest out there. I think on very deep skin it will certainly hit limits.

Although PMG is better quality, Natasha is a close second. Love them both and really loved this video idea.
