People of today getting into kettlebells are so lucky to have this level of teaching for free. Back in the early 2000s you pay a week's wages to learn this.
When I saw you put the book under your arm to teach arm body connection something in my mind just clicked ! i got it now!!!!!! thank you sooooooooooo much!
This is the best instructional video I have seen on the snatch. You covered all the elements so precisely. I was particularly looking for dropping the bell and holding and pushing it back as I tend to rip my hands often with heavy weights. Now I know the trick, I will implement and see how it’s gonna improve my snatching. Thanks a lot! 🙏
Picking my kettlebell back up tomorrow for the first time in a while, thought I'd get some technique tips. I've learned so much more then I ever new. Thank you so much 🙏
Happy to jere that Scott, and I wish you the best. Reach out when you need guidance. I also have started offering 30 and 60 min consults and/or training and if you want some help there, just let me know
Killer instructions Steve. Thanks for all your years of demonstrating and explaining. Of all the instructions and tips out there, yours are the ones that seem to help my clients break through sticking points more often than not.
Absolutely fantastic instructional video! Very clear as to what to do and why in all phases of the snatch. Thank you so much for sharing this outstanding knowledge!
I think you're one of the best coaches out there. I've been sporadically following your stuff even sinse I saw you in Pavels book Beyond Bodybuilding, back in like 2009.
Hey Steve, thanks so much for this breakdown. At the top of the snatch are you pulling the shoulder of the active hand down in an anti-shrug for the lockout or do you let the shoulder come up?
Hi Eric, Shoulder is neutral not protracted or retracted. Do you want to keep it in the socket so definitely not shrugging. You could say it’s more of a pull down but it should be done through skeletal position not through muscular tension. Basically relax and let the shoulder settle
ThankQ Steve, u applied the nature's mechanics movements like Taichi or martial arts principles...it make more sense. (Using the Yin handle the Yang) thanks
Late to the party here. Great Video. Does anyone know what weight KB's he's using? Also if you can't lock your arms, should you stay away from snatches? Thanks!
@@IKFFChannel Thanks for all your answers, appreciate that a lot. Maybe one more? After now 4 years of Kettlebells and especially many squats I started Competition Tennis again on a decent level. But ultimately I got quad tear, espec. rectus femoris. Only Leg exercises have been now double squats. Maybe incorporate some kind of lunches or slpit squats? I have the feeling that I am just conditioned on the squat range. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Thank you. I love India. In fact, I am teaching a special 1 hr class for India on Sep 20. Will teach kettlebells and mobility. Info here: instagram.com/p/CExUHrmDtlj/?igshid=vb4v0ve0bg4o

Thank you sensei! Three breaths as in short 3 exhales right?
Yes, it’s three breaths but always focus on the exhale. Let the inhale follow but don’t think about the inhale.
Hi Steve, can you recommend us a Snatch workout to get these techniques ok? many thanks in advance! José

Coach, what's the lightest weight you recommend for practicing the snatch? Thank you. 🙏
For healthy men start with 12kg
For healthy women start with 6 or 8kg
Is it the same hand insertion as in the clean and press?
Yes, the hand insertion technique and position is identical for Snatch and Clean
