As a late diagnosed, PLEASE parents, prioritize your child’s MENTAL HEALTH first. As they said in the video, it’s never too late to learn everything else. I am very intelligent but at 27 my mental health is shot and despite decades of effort I am struggling to get it back on track from all the years of trauma from my school/childhood experience.
Please parents just realize how much the stress of your child feeling so different from everyone else can affect their self esteem for life. PLEASE prioritize their mental health first! Education second ❤️

I agree. I’ve chosen to homeschool my children because of this. We spent 4 years in the school system and my child wouldn’t talk and was very anxious.

Wow…currently working through burnout. I’ve been relaxing, listening to various RUclips videos while playing ACNH. Suddenly I realized my heart was beating faster. It started in the first minute or two this video started. I think school was more traumatic for me than I thought…😢

There is permanent herbs to improve and heal autistim. It’s a medicine you can get from Dr Oyalo RUclips channel, his herbs have made my son improve perfectly in his speech and social skills. He is now verbal, responding to name and instructions. Bear in mind that you don't need to spend a fortune on therapy that won't work.

one problem can be when teachers dont implement the agreed accomodations that have been made thus causing the child and parents anxiety because they dont feel heard. So frustrating!!

I'm sure I experienced this when I was at Junior School in the early 1970s. I can still remember several incidents, that still affect me even though it was 50 years since they happened, and only now know what it is!

We do mental health days for our children, and it makes a tremendous difference. This was not a consideration for me as a child, and that was when they still used wooden paddles as disciplinary means. Can you imagine an anxiety riddled child being spanked with a paddle for something that was horribly misunderstood? What was looked at as misbehavior was something that should have been investigated. I only recently got an official diagnosis for autism, and I see those traits in my children. They’ll have it much better, for sure!

Thankyou for this video and the focus on mental health over academics ❤ I'd love where to find some more info on charting anxiety for kids, this sounds exactly like what we need to do at home

Hi, i really enjoyed your video. I feel like there could be explored further. Some techniques for getting your child to school would be good.
I get allot of heat from my mother on giving my daughter mental health days at home. I think this should be normalised as I really feel that a full week at school for my daughter is overload for her.

I'm lucky to have the best services at school for my 8 y son . He have a very high performance anxiety . Double that with a obvious dyslexia and ADHD , school is very hard for him. He just hate to make mistake ( crying, giving up right away, pushing away the help) . Unfortunately I can't see how exactly they approches him when he gets trigger or the exact wording they used :( so it is a bit hard to talk with him about the situation and make him understand why he was angry if I only have one side of the story . And as a french Canadian....french is a nightmare to learn..so much rules and exception . I understand why he can get so angry sometime 😅

@@shabanasharif2210 with my son we evaluated what triggered him and adapted what we could. We have changed our way of teaching too. He do best with pictures versus just verbal so we use pictograms when doing homeworks and setting a routine at home. For the ADHD he is now on medication which made a huge difference. It is also important to let them move..a lot. My son hates team sport but love running so he do track and field and we have a Ninja Warrior style indoor playground near where I live so we take him there once in a while. We also have a small trampoline at home that helps him calms himself when in an episode. We have a lot of fidget toy in the house if he needes to calm down. We have set rules for screen time with a system of screen time earning if he do good in school. Setting up small goal can help and praise him when he do good. This help with their self-esteem and reduce anxiety. If he is harmful to himself and you, it is important to evaluate what triggers those episode to better understant the situation and seek help from professional who knows those kind of behavior in case it becomes too dangerous. Do you have ressources where you live ?
