Thank you for sharing your raw emotions and just pausing and zooming in on the artist lyrics. I NEVER UNDERSTOOD what my mom was dealing with for 40 years until I come across Dear Alcohol. Then he allowed these beautiful testimonies. I've listened to his song and artist for months now a hundred times. Thank you Dax. Brilliant!

Thank you. He is my best friend and will always be but we don't talk much seeing that he is in prison ATM. When he isn't he doesn't reach out because of his own reasons.

I listen to this for the first time about 3 weeks ago and it got to me like nothing else!! Im an alcoholic and i know it and i know why but my mind wants to only admit to half of why. But i think what Dax is doing and the courage that everyone had to send in their own fight and battle in a verse, is a beautiful, amazing, eye opening, releasing, comforting, and releasing blessed opportunity for us all. Not only to write a verse ourselves but also listen to them and know we are not alone! Thank yoi Dax, you are an amazing artist and person and to be honest, when i first saw you on "my heart hurt" ( which i actually really love), i looked you up but only watched one more video and i judged you by your cover. I don't normally do that. Thats a big pet peeve of mine! So i want to say otm sorry for yhat because the next day i told myself k shouldn't do that and inwent back to listen to more of your music and loved it!!!! So thank you! I for one have to put the title of addict to myself. I cant forget what I am so I never go back. Got 5 yrs clean after 24 yrs of being a functional addict. I always held a job so I thot I was good til I od'd in 2017 and lost the use of my legs for a while. Now the main thing that keeps me clean is my grandson. He is someone who has never seen me high and I want to keep it that way.
@@Tokin420 that's why it says RECOVERING and not recovered. I for one will never forget what I am, I'm recovering never recovered. One day at a time and sometimes 10 minutes at a time. I wake and pray to my higher power and ask HIM for the strength to make it one more day. I will always be an ADDICT, but I don't have to be an active one, and I always give back, what I receive. Just remember KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!! ❤️🙏❤️
@@ticamatthews i agree. I was just responding to the person who said to not put the title of addict to urself. Ur rite someday its 10 min at a time. Some days are definitely harder than others. But by the grace of God I have made it one more day for 5 yrs now. Now all I got to do is make it another day. Congrats on ur sobriety!!

My girlfriend of almost 4 years is an alcoholic (definitely a second generation alcoholic, probably third or fourth) and even as a loved one, this shit hits so, so hard. I almost had to leave her because of how bad it was getting and he drink frankly turned her into a demon and I had to tell her straight up, "I love you but this cycle is killing both of us." I was on the phone with her when she accidentally crashed her car under the influence and for about 5 seconds or so I thought the love of my life was dead. I've never dealt with substance use in myself, but I'm scarred by it on more than one front, and this is something that I can't understand DIRECTLY, but pretty close.
She's now over 100 days sober, but has nightmares every night about relapsing. This shit is REAL, and much love to Dax for spreading this message.

and do their best not to sin. We all sin and have fallen short of the glory of God. This is why God sent His only begotten son Jesus Christ
to die on the cross for our sins so that all those who believe in Him and do their best to live a life that is pleasing to God will not perish but have everlasting life. Heaven and hell exist and the things we say and do in this lifetime will testify for us or against us and determine where we spend eternity. I was born in a Christian home and went looking for The Truth because I could see lies and deception in religion and wanted to know why there are so many different beliefs and religions. God gives us choices but wants us to choose Him.
God allowed satan and his demons to test my faith with a demonic attack while He taught me a lesson about patience, holding my peace, and trusting Him no matter what. The Bible is true and this world is a lie.
Spiritual warfare is going on right now and demons are fallen angels that work thru all people tempting us to sin and trying to win souls because it hurts God. God has given me spiritual discernment wich is the ability to detect these spirits. God wants me to help wake up the walking dead. The walking dead are people who don't know God are what He expects from us. God wants us to love Him above everyone and everything. He also wants us to love everyone else like we love ourselves, to study His Word, and pray daily. Always remember our enemies are demons not the people they work thru. If we can't forgive others God won't forgive us on judgement day. God is love and love is the fulfillment of Gods law. This world rejects God because it is ruled by satan but God is always in control. God expects everyone who knows the truth to tell everyone who has been deceived. The only way to be saved from our sins is by repenting and excepting God 's only begotten son Jesus Christ because He paid the price for all sin when He died on the cross and rose again.

I'm the closet drinker.For the last 3 years I've been drowning myself in liquor and everybody thinks I'm sober,when I go out or I'm around my friends I only take soft drinks or a single glass of wine.The thing is I'm a pillar of strength to many and I'm scared that showing them that I too am in a battlefield would only drive them away as they'll think they're burdening me more and also I don't want to get people worried nor for them to know that I am not okay,never been.Sigh...
