7 years sober. My separation and subsequent divorce nearly broke me completely. It took losing everything and everyone to sober me up. Keep fighting the war everyone in my shoes. It never ends.
Congrats on getting sober! That's a hard thing to overcome!
That last part where he say *"i'm glad that you're finally happy...now i'm the one who will suffer. You was the one with the problem...now you're gone and i'll never recover"* hits hard literally EVERYTIME i hear it....
Yeah, that part hit hard for me. We always think of how it affects the addict... but what about those left behind?
@MrsRealistic hey I dunno if you have got the notification but there is another dax dear alcohol mega remix that I would love for you to react to I have tagged you in the video but its not on dax's channel its on another channel
“If someone screams, and no one hears, do they even have a voice?” 😮 What a brilliant and incite full line.
Very deep!
Sky just has a way with her lyrics that make you pause and go damn that really hurt for it's so true.
I was in the military for a little over 10 years and I was deployed in both Iraq and Afghanistan during that time. I can def. vouch that you cannot drink your demons away. You truly have to face them head on and find a way to fight them while sober. I was an alcoholic for a few years and thankfully it didnt effect my marriage. I finally came to terms with what I had to and now, my wife and I only drink 1-2 drinks a year. I absolutely love this song on many levels.
Yup...alcohol will solve nothing... you can't run away from your issues, no matter what they are. Thank you for your service. God bless you my friend. 🙏
Thank you for your service!!!
Having lost 3 friends in Afghanistan, I see the other side of war. But know you're loved and appreciated. You did good things in Afghanistan. Women were free for 20 yrs because of my 3 friends, your fallen brothers and sisters and you! If anything... take pride in that! You saved a lot of women's lives! God Bless you!
Hey man. Never met you but I'm proud of you!
@@WWII_buff ty for the support :)
@@tenngirl4trump sorry for the late response, just saw this...ty for the support :)
I think it is safe to say Dax is a generational talent, his songs hit hard while sending a message. He is a conversation starter and in 30 years his songs will still be relevant. We are blessed to be around to hear him spread the word.
I agree 💯!
I’ve been addicted to alcohol for 8 yrs, I need help. Thanks for the song.
You got this! I believe you can beat it! Believe in yourself! God bless you my friend!🙏
Same. 5th of vodka every night since August 2019. Seems like every day will be the end. Dont even know what to do anymore.
I pray you find that help. Love yourself enough to take that first step. I promise you won't regret it!
11:20 "and it took my soul, that's why they call it spirits" gave me goosebumps
No kidding! It's so true!
dax's mega remixes are something else
No doubt!
I flat lined nine times going through detox they had an IV directly to my heart. Was a twelve day process. Hallucination strapped to a bed. I started just like you said till I was drinking a half gallon of vodka a day. I made my own prison. I was 32. Now 47 and healthier than I've ever been.
Good for you! That's amazing that you're here, sober and healthy! I'm sorry you had to go through that tho. God bless you! 🙏
@@MrsRealistic thank you.... It did leave me will type 1 diabetes the alcohol killed my pancreas but a couple shots a day I'll take it no problem!! Love your reactions it sounds like we grew up around the same kinda crowd. I just waited to long to walk away.
@davidarmes747 Yes, a few needles over what the alternative that could have happened isn't a bad trade! I was big into partying when I was in my teens... (in Canada where I grew up, the legal drinking age is 19, and 18 in some provinces). But I got into the bad scene when I was much younger. By the time I moved away from that city at 21, I was over it. I had seen a few friends go down a bad road and I didn't want that to be me. Living in a small town, bored, drinking and drugs tend to be a large part of people's lives. The only time my husband has more than one drink is when he's going to "build something" in the garage 🤣 The only thing I "drink" now is Kombucha that I make myself. 😆
YES!! Glad you're still here and found your way through to the otherside of that!!
9 times… I’m so glad you’re still with us.
My dad was an alcoholic that quit drinking when i was 3. When i started drinking i thought it was great... For a little while. Until i had the shakes when i was sober! So i stopped drinking after a Dr put me on pain pills. When those stopped, 20 years later, i turned to cocaine. When that almost cost me my family i went back to a pain DR. After 15 years on oxycodone and Opana, the maximum dose of each plus extras i bought, i got Covid and got so sick i was hospitalized for 2 months! After that i went into outpatient rehab. 4 years clean and i wonder to myself, Why did i do all that? I had/have a good life with a great family!!! Now i hold my head high and help others struggling for sobriety. This song isn't just about alcohol... It's about all chemical addictions. Thank you Dax. Your music is real and the heart!
Thank you for sharing that! And I'm so glad you got sober! God bless you!
so many talented singers in 1 video and im only 3 mins in
When I turned 18 years old I started drinking. And used to drink a lot at parties and my brothers were drinking a lot too. When I turned 27 years old I got the courage to stop drinking soon after that my brothers stoped drinking too. Then I realized that I was being the example for my brothers. I stoped drinking at 27 and now I’m 40 and since then I haven’t touched a bottle and I feel proud of my self because my brothers followed me.
That's an amazing story! Thank you for sharing it with me! God bless you 🙏
Thank you for being an amazing person.
Lead by example! Just as God leads us to live and nurture one another!
when i was a drinker, it was getting to a point that I was drinking my days off away, sometimes i'd go in to work with a bit of a buzz from teh night before because i was that hooked onto it. But i put it down, I kicked that habbit same with smoking, both quit at the same time, cold turkey it was tough but it was the best decision i made for me. that's the thing folks need to think about, if you won't do it for anyone else at least do it for yourself, even if it's hard.
Bravo 👏 👏 👏 That's amazing! You're right, you have to do it for yourself, and know your future will be better for it!
The first and third chicks hit me right in the heart. The guy talking about feeling alone...
Thanks Mrs. R - I've watched this track numerous times... it's so heartbreaking... 💔💔
Great reaction! Love that song, you should consider reacting to lil b- I love you or lil b- age of information or February's confessions also by lil b
I lost my mum to alcohol 7 years ago on May 30th. That last verse hit so hard. This extended version has also made me realise I'm heading the same way drinking cider most days I'm not at work. Time to face the demons sober, you can't fight when your drunk
Thank you for reacting to this version, I didn't know about it until I saw this video
You recognize it and that's the first step! I wish you healing and health in your future! God bless you my friend! 🙏
@MrsRealistic I'm considering myself lucky. I've only been drinking regularly for the past 6 months so should be easier to recover from than years of addiction.
@@markgr1nyer absolutely! That's different than someone who will have to go through heavy detox!
@MrsRealistic my mum did but the damage was already done, she died 9 months later from multi-organ failure. Life is too short to make all the mistakes yourself, so learn from others
@@markgr1nyer I'm so sorry about your loss. 😔
I want to say Ty to ur channel and reactions
And your kind words
I’m a stranger miles away
But you took the time to respond
3 months sober from pills
It has been a struggle
Weather it’s alcohol or pills
Addiction is addiction
My heart goes out to all those struggling with it
Congrats! You've got this! I wish you continued success! One day at a time 😊👍🙏
Another great reaction🎉
Thank you 😁
Love it thank you for the reaction 🥰💚
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
@@MrsRealistic Chinchilla has got a new song coming out soon please react to it when she releases it🫶🫶
RKB- i drank from the time I was 16 and it started off just weekends, i went to the hospital 5 times last year. i had it when i fell and could not move. The bad thing I knew what I had done and had help to get me up and walk with me to my house. I had it after that and stopped cold turkey. I am 6 months clean just a couple days ago on the 12th. I hope my mind does not drive me to start again as I scared it will kill me. Thank you so much for your words. One thing though. I hurts when you say we can't be a good person when you drink. i know you are correct in most cases however it makes us feel we are bad people when deep inside we are far from it. I get you though. Don't know the proper words but I know you get what I am saying. If you can write me back that would help me greatly. You are a very special person.
Congratulations! You've got this! It's just one day at a time, one foot in front of the other! And I didn't mean that you're not a good person when you drink, I was just pointing out how some people can be mean or combative simply due to the way alcohol affects them...I also know people who are a total blast when they drink! It depends on why they're drinking, I suppose? And alcohol affects different people in different ways. My best friend got addicted to alcohol very young as well. She's now been sober for about 15 years. I pray you have health and happiness in your future. You can do ANYTHING you set your mind to! God bless you my friend! 🙏
@@MrsRealistic I understand! You are correct! Thank you so much for a response. It means the world to me and your words will help move forward without a drink. I was at a dance and the only one not drinking but i stood tall and not it's over and I am so glad it's over. I love you for your response to me. I pray for you as well. RKB
Hey everyone, if you are struggling with any addictions, I PRAY FOR YOU and hope that you find a place that will bring you back to being sober and in control. I cannot speak of addiction i was fortunate that i never had them but i try to always be humble and put myself in others shoes, now i can never know the real feelings of this terrible feeling and what people feel for real but i know there is always help and i hope you all find that place, MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL. Thanks for the video.
I like your comment... But want to add.
Those of you suffering with addictions of any kind or are thinking of harming yourselves, please call 911 or your local suicide prevention, mental health line, or even a local AA meeting ( they will send someone to your home to help you, even if you are falling down drunk when you call, they don't care!) And from experience I tell you, if you don't call because you are afraid of withdrawals (believe me, I was terrified of the sickness so I started my recovery at a methodone clinic) check about Suboxone or methodone as a starter for your recovery. It is possible and doable as long as you are truly ready to take that first step. Every step you take after that one, you will have people walking with you and you will not be alone!
Love yourselves as God loves you. Remember That he didn't make any junk! You are worthy and loved. ❤❤❤
Talking about those mean drunks and the singers feeling alright. The thing about it first is some of the singers were affected by others alcoholism and as for the mean drunk just because they are being mean and affecting those around them doesn't mean that they are not actually feeling temporarily better themselves. J/s
That's a good point!
Have the hubby react to this one!
I think he did the original... but not this Remix.
I think you will find something in this song. Gordon Lightfoot The wreak of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Your 70's child and this happen 1975 so baby but important and really well done song
I grew up on Gordon Lightfoot... great music!
I drink to forget, to never dream. It doesn't work. Almost died because of it. Been doing it since 2002. Want to stop but cant seem to.
You can do it! One step and one day at a time! God bless you my friend! 🙏
Please talk to your Dr or go to just 1 AA meeting. I promise once you take that first step, you will never walk alone again! ❤
@marylynncates7561 Thank you for adding this Marylynn!
Finally
😆👍
I was hoping you would react to this. I've heard it many times and it always makes me weep. I've been there and done that. Thanks for you and your husband's great reactions. Keepin it real.
Thank you 😁 Dax makes some amazing music!
i dont drink because i know i get agressive of it
Dax has a new song it's called A Real Man I'd love to see you and your husband's reactions to it
Thank you for the heads up! 😊

Thanks! I love Burden!
I'm going thru achohalism or how ever u spell that not this song makes me push everyday not to get black out drunk left my now ex wife of 20 years and it kills me everyday to be alolive without her I'm lost but I'm trying daily to push thru it but it's hard
You've got this! It all starts with the first step! God bless you my friend! 🙏
My parents were both alcoholics and I had to watch it kill them. Plus my mother drunk when she was pregnant with me and now I have foetal alcohol syndrome for the rest of my life which is why I hate her but I dont at the same time. I'm 32 next month and I used to love alcohol. Now I hate it. It changes people so badly. They are not even the same person. Its so sad 😭
I'm so sorry to hear that! My dad gave up alcohol completely a few years ago and he said he feels so much better for it. I actually used to work with FAS and FAE kids when I was a teenager. It's a really sad thing to see and for those kids they need special care especially when they're young in school. God bless you my friend 🙏
@@MrsRealistic so true. Thank you so much for everything you do.
You should check out God Mode by Tom Macdonald
Helps to kill the pain of my life. Not fair to my loving wife so sorry 😢
God bless you my friend 🙏
You should check o Dax to be a man it's a good one.
I've done all 3 including the remix, and the Darius Rucker version :) They're in my Dax Playlist if you wanted to check them out. My husband asked me to watch the reaction to HIS reaction for the first one. ;)
Fix your title! Devastating is spelled wrong sweetie
Shit... thank you!! 🙏
That sucks I was excited. The remixes are all garbage, they just ruin the great songs with people who suck
Everyone is entitled to their opinion 😊👍
Fuck your opinion scott
