Hi guys!! I got my PCT permit for a May 15th 2025 start!! I'm so excited to follow you 2 and to blog my trip. I'm only doing the first 600 miles this year, but I'll be back the following year to push on further!! Safe trip my friends!! 😎👍✌
If you take it slow enough! We're going to be starting slower than we want because we need to avoid the snow in the Sierra. If you have a trail name, please share it so we can look out for you.
As a Oregonian enjoy our state, it is beautiful. Definitely hit crater lake, ramona falls and tunnel falls detours. They are beautiful and basically PCT at this point.
Thanks for the recommendations! We were planning on moving there, but maybe someday much later. We were going to hike every inch of the PCT, but my wife convinced me that we should hit all the great detours instead. Continuous foot path is our goal so we can hit all the good spots.
Thanks for the info. Had a feeling it was going to be at least 2 days, but 4... We're going to have to look into it more. We might end up just doing a shorter hike that takes a day.
You gotta see and take the Crater Lake and Tunnel Falls detours (Oregon) as well. In Washington, should plan on resupplying in Leavenworth and Stehekin. Enjoy and see you guys on the trail!
as a 2024 sobo who just finished 6 weeks ago, i walked The 2 to get through the bridge fire. no one hassled me and in fact there were other people out walking the road too (not thru hikers).
As for Bridge Fire, the PCT was initially closed for about 20 miles. The latest closure order is 12 miles. Hopefully there will be more revisions to the closure order to come. Keep our fingers crossed.
Fingers and toes crossed. If it's still closed we're going to have to make a long reroute. We really don't want any breaks in our continuous foot path.
We're not exactly sure where those places are at the moment, but we are planning on hiking with our bear canisters from the beginning up until the last point we need them. If that's just a little bit beyond the Sierra, we'll keep them until then.
Hell yeah! My start date is April 5th!! Maybe I’ll see yall out there!
If we take the Arizona trail, you may pass us! Have a trail name we could look out for?
@ hippy Gandalf!
That's badass.
Oh goodness😬Thanks for sharing ❤️❤️🎄
You don't like the screaming?
@ no I don’t like the screaming🤣
I'm starting in late May so who knows when I'll catch y'all, but holler if you see an orange guy! -Gato
We'll be looking! When do you aim to finish? Our target is August 15th, but we doubt that'll be the case.
No idea, I'm just taking it a day at a time. As they say, planning is essential, but plans are useless

The ending is,.. chef's kiss!
We are relieved to hear it! We were laughing, but thought it might have been a bit too much. Comments like this motivate us to keep on keeping on.
@JennickHikes I was cracking up! I was surprised no one else commented about it.

Just watching your video. I'll be a day behind you. Supposedly it's going to be a light snow year in southern part.
That is fantastic news! How fast are you hiking? You'll probably pass us. Hiker name and/or partner(s)?
Grand canyon: 2 days minimum. 4 days likely.

I believe that's the plan! We originally wanted to stick to the PCT as mush as possible... but HYOH!

Thanks for the info. I've heard conflicting reports of people getting ticketed. We will assess the situation when we're closer.
Good Luck ! (subscried)
I'll watch you two prior to my start 01MAY
Awesome! Hope you have fun out there, and we can help give you important info.

The Scoots presents itself!
@@JennickHikes I do like my Goats. 😁
Oh BTW, did you plan for bear canisters between KMS and Donner?
