  • Custom Roof Basket and Ladders for the Hummer H2 are DONE!
    When I picked up the Hummer H2, I planned to use it mainly for overlanding and knew instantly it need much more room, so the idea for a custom roof basket and some ladders started to come together. Over a month ago my good friend Jeff with Black Label Speed Shop and I began putting those plans into motion, and today we are finally finished!
    We added a set of Rough Country pod lights in the rear, and a Rough Country 50 inch curved lightbar up front, all tied into an Auxbeam 6 Gang switch panel with a standalone fuse box.

    SWEEET!!!!!! I'm doing the exact same thing with my Hummer!!!! I took it on a trip to TN during the recent fuel crisis and was looking for a fuel carrier just like you showed. Got 13 mpg at its best!!! 😁 Definitely show that set up. I have an Iceco VL60Pro portable refrigerator/freezer in the back and all my recovery gear and camping gear. This truck is a beast! Looking forward more videos!

      Yeah it definitely needs more fuel - we're also looking into adding a fuel cell, there seems to be enough room in the back so that might be an option. Jerry Cans on the rear tire or roof basket is the 2nd option. From what I've seen, breather mods (intake manifolds, intake, exhaust) and a tune are netting people 16mpg average on a lift kit and big tires. So that's also on the agenda. Sounds like you have a good setup! If you have an IG let me know and I'll go check it out!

    Logo or vinyl decal would take care of the scratch roof panel

      We thought of the same! I'm about to mount an awning and a water tank up there so those will cover it up some too lo

    Once the sunroof is open. Press the open button again and it will go back farther and be out of your way

    Cool! Any chance you could list cost of materials!?

      Metal was pretty high when we did this, I don't have exact numbers but between materials, labor, and powder I'd guess around $4000!

    Do you offer the ladder for sale?

    • @TonyMaples
      @TonyMaples  2 года назад +1

      Hi Paul, we don't exactly offer these for sale . However any decent fabricator local to you should be able to make you something similar very easily, and would guarantee fitment. Would also be much cheaper this way. Thanks for watching!

    you want to make me one

      Since this was one off, it's not very cost effective to try to make another one without having the truck here in person, but that being said, any fab shop that's local to you should be able to make you one similar or even better! We definitely could, but would really need the truck in person to make sure everything fits just right, and shipping something like the roof basket is impossible as it so heavy, we had to use a forklift to get it on top of the truck 🤣
