I'm from Ukraine and I support our army. And the reason I'm asling you is a request actually for active night vision cameras, that you might advice for travelling in night without lights (whether it is possible)
Its the same as US night vision gogle for military personnel. They use light intensifier approach.
But military grade uses bolometer in enhance light while this cam uses amplify ISO CCD.
By the way I'm satisfying for the cam quality picture as it work at night consider you drive alone in dark condition. But for standard frequenly uses road with roadside lamp its no need using.

Great video but I got distracted by the thought of nanotechnology bog roll. It’s surprising nobody’s had the marketing cheek to try it. Imagine, “New Andrex nanotech bog roll, guaranteed to remove dangleberries, tagnuts and clingons in a single wipe!” I’d buy that for a dollar.

I was looking for good DASH CAM for my car to be able to record continuously in car parks especially, so if someone runs into the car at least there is a chance of catching them also plus the other good feature. I was seriously considering buying 2 x of this LANMODO VAST M1 night vision system after seeing the other reviewers, but something inside was holding me back and today THANK GOD I ran into your review and analysis which confirmed my suspicions. It goes to show that the wold will never stop scamming people, but thank you again that there are people like you!!!! Keep it up my friend the good work. Oh if you can suggest a good dash cam with night vision system, that would be appreciated very much.

Iti urmaresc filmarile de cand vazusem testele pentru ulei. Ar fi interesant de testat si aditivi auto, si aici sunt mai multe categorii gen cei pentru curatarea injectoarelor, cei pentru senzorul catalitic, mai nou pentru curatare dpf (chiar ciudat sa mearga).
Let’s hope that the new version M1, is better enough to make it a useful option. I’m waiting to get one that was crowdfunded. Should be next month.

Hi Sergiu! Greetings from Bulgaria, I'm loving your approach of delivering somewhat scientific, but really pratically applicable comparisons.
Here are some ideas for future videos: Car batteries (I'm looking for a lipofe4 battery at the moment and I really hate the CA vs CCA indication and the messed up capacity compared to Pb batteries). Maybe something with bushings (engine mounts, or plainly suspension bushings... with our "nice" roads there, we all know there are certain brands that do well, and others that you just buy twice...)... Spark plugs (is more expensive more better...?) coil packs (NGK, vs bosch vs beru etc... VAG r8 coils, maybe also vs yaris coils... these are popular retrofit for performance cars).
I like your series of filter comparisons, maybe you can figure out a methodology for fuel filters?

Also, IR light waves cannot go through glass.
So the IR illuminator must be placed outside, and the lens must also be outside to receive the reflecting IR radiation.
So any night vision camera that is mounted inside the cabin will not be a true night vision camera
Not quite correct. FLIR can't see through glass, however NIR lights and passive image intensifier tubes can.

Can an IR camera work through glass? I never tried.
Activ IR yes, passive IR may now have such good results.
First things first, SWIR and NIR are more expensive than LWIR as overall systems to build, second, military grade technology is LWIR not NIR.... But overall this video is a good comparison reference between cheap Chinese stuff and the automotive graded products. keep up with the good work.

Speaking of LED bulbs, could you review the D1S LEDs from Bullvision or HLXG or any other aliEx brands for that matter? Seen a lot about the new XHP70.2 HighDensity Cree Led chip, being mounted on regular h series (H7 etc) bulbs, would you be so kind as to review them as well?

@@jean23761 went with Aileo brand, (Bullvision had not released it yet when i bought them) pretty content with these bulbs, aside from the separate canbus driver which is kind of annoying.
I was looking at bi-LED projectors for a retrofit, as the high beam on the LED bulbs is not concentrated enough to provide a satisfying high beam range

Help ! I just watched your video . I purchased and waiting for my AKY-NV-X Super Night Vision System Dashcam to come in mail . It was around 300 dollars . I wanted something little more for a dash cam and it some good features . Do you know anything about it ? Now I’m afraid I’m going to get hosed . I did research looking at reviews , videos ,etc . Looked like this was my best option for what I wanted . Any feedback appreciated. Thank you !

Best night vision for car is to slap some Sony A7s and a screen somewhere :P Real color night vision with good performance possibly surpassing at least some of the actual automotive solutions. Wouldn't even cost that much. (600€ for camera+lens+monitor)
@@d.e.waters883 I can see some eBay options for a bit cheaper and thus you can probably find one from classifieds for even cheaper. In Europe you can get them for 380-450€. A 35/50mm lens is 50-100€ and a monitor can go for whatever ofc depending..
"light magnification" is another way of saying light amplification .. this is what all night vision cameras do, they amplify the available light (they will not work with NO light) Note: they will still work without an infrared light source, streetlights or moonlight is like daylight, and you can even see with just starlight (not talking about thermal imaging cameras) EDIT: I think you are right about the sensor just being a high ISO sensor, no light amplification at all .. wow, what a pile of crap! .. while you can see "something" in the dark, it's totally not useful ... I saved all the wiring diagrams for the Cadillac thermal night vision system, after playing a bit with the system at a GM training center, thinking it would be cool to get one from a wrecked car (but not likely, because that camera is in the grill emblem and not likely to survive a collision)

I would imagine that a system that utilizes real night vision glasses would be safer as your attention would not be taken from the road ahead.
The downside to good night vision devices such as gen 3 un-filmed white phosphor is the cost and lack of peripheral vision. A gen 3 monocular such as a PVS-14 only gives you a 40º FOV, no depth perception and will cost you between $3,000 and $5,000. If you want a dule tube setup you are looking at $8,000-$13,500.

For people with trouble seeing at night, this is better than nothing. There need to be MORE solutions in this market space, but unfortunately there aren't. If you have a better product to recommend, many people would benefit from your
guidance. Meanwhile, seems like this Lamodo is the only option.
The Flir pathfindir2 is the best automotive thermal camera, although $2.5k. The flir ADK is 3k and double the resolution and framerate, but requires another component to process the video. Speedir makes a similar cheaper one, also nightride.
What you think about akeeyo dadhcam
you want night vision? here are the steps to get it
step 1: gets some osram or philips extreme racing bulbs for 23 euros
step 2:polish and clean your headlights on the inside and outside
step 3:adjust your headlights
step 4:maybe get some good bulbs for high beams too if you have separate bulbs for low or high beam
step 5:if all of those above didnt work slap a 150w xenon kit and call it a day
bonus step:if all of these didnt work for you go see a eye doctor
