You know things are not going well in the universe when you're happy to hear the Sith won a big battle.
Lol
Adas, the gigachad himself
lol fact
@@user-nf3kz9ee2n
Adas?
@@thalmoragent9344Adas was the first Sith Emperor that died in battle leading the Sith species to victory against the Rakata.
You know what's scarier than being a Jedi during the March on the Temple?
Being a Rakaatan during the slave revolts.
It was not revolt,...it was revolution,
😧
@@alexandarvoncarsteinzarovi3723
I mean, isn't the difference between revolt and revolution just a matter of who wins?
@@prestonjones1653 A revolt can be put down with sufficient firepower because it's just 1, a revolution puts down the empire or regime running said nation or in this case space empire, because it is a mass event that can overwhelm the whole thing, plus it organized, by leaders who had people on the inside,
Oof
The Rakaatan species enslaving every other species in the galaxy was wild when I read it for the first time 😂 Authors must have had Lucas’s head spinning with all of the lore reaching that far back
I always found that history fascinating. I wholly expect Disney to ruin it at some point 🙄
Oh yeah, it would've been interesting to hear Lucas's reaction
Lucas is destroying the Star wars legacy with his movies
@@loeunsaing329you’re smoking crack if you think lucas’ movies wasn’t good for star wars

I do love the Old Republic Era. But I also love reading about the Era of the Infinite Empire. It's always awesome learning of this stuff.
Yeah, they are both so interesting
My High School Senior English Final project was about the Rakata. In 2011. I got like a B+ on it. I would have gotten an A, but I went over the time limit for presentations.
The celestials need to be delved into more in canon.
100% I would love to see more of it
Great idea, but they are SUPPOSED to be mysterious and unknown. They are supposed to make us crazy due to the lack of knowledge
@@celestialyagg804 Sure, but even the Halo Precursors have cannon stuff on them now.

Wow, so the Rakata MADE Tattooine's Sand... Anakin would've wiped out their entire race 👀
Rakatas: "THE WHOLE GALAXY WILL BE OURS FORE..."
The Force: "Hey, I just got tired of you. Bye!"
Rakatas: *Lose their connection to the Force* "F*ck..."
Around 37,000 bby Abeloth broke free of her prison in Maw cluster and unleashed chaos upon the galaxy. In an effort to weaken her, the Celestials employed the Tho Yor to transport Force sensitives from the lesser races across the galaxy to the planet Tython. With galactic civilization all but destroyed Abeloth grew tired and retreated beck to her world within the Maw. The Celestials had the Killiks rebuild the devices that maintained Abeloth’s prison.
Over the next 2,000 years, Rakata used the Infinity gates and hyperspace drives to become to fill the power vacuum that was created by Abeloth. The video covers the rest.
Where can I read more about Abeloth’s imprisonment & escape?
@@SportyMabamba I think that it might have been the last book of the legacy of the Force series. Which I don’t remember where I have it. I would just look it up on wookiepedia or fandom. How they format isn’t the best, but they do list the source and references.
@SportyMabamba should be in one of the "Fate of the Jedi" books. I think it's "Apocalypse."
@@eds1942 some things seem to be missing in appearance section in some Wookipedia articles.
@@solomon1995able It might not be on the page, being that this story line, the Dawn of the Jedi and the Ones were a late additions before the Disney sell, but the parallels are. Assuming what the Killiks said was true, then it can be inferred that the Tho Yor would’ve pickup Force sensitives to deprive Abeloth for when she broke free the last time around. And I’m unaware if there was any official statements about it at the time.
I admit that my timeline is a little conjectured. But I feel that it was a reasonable conclusion.
I love this part of the lore. There are so many interesting stories that predate the OG trilogy and they are so interesting. I also like how the design of the rakatan race looks and their star fleet design & architecture. Thanks for this video
Yep, there is so much to talk about with this stuff. We could've covered so much more as well but there is just too much knowledge 😂
Its very interesting how the Force just abandons the Rakata for being entirely too evil. It reminds me quite a bit of how the Force basically abandoned the Yuuzhan Vong. I feel like that could have been a very interesting connection that we just didn't get to see.
So, in legends the Yuuzahn Vong lose the connection to the force because their home planet explodes in Star Wars fashion. I know it doesn't make sense but that's why it happened at least to my knowledge. It would be interesting if Geetsly did a video talking about how different star wars races lost their connection to the force or some variation of that concept like how it works or the contridicting nature of how the force operates in legends.
@@charleskeenum5372 I don't think that's what it is.
The Vong's connection or lackthereof to the Force is clearly contingent on their physical form, because the deformed Shamed One Onimi is Force Sensitive, and even used the Dark Side of the Force to subtly influence the Vong. However, as soon as his deformations were undone by Jacen Solo, he completely lost his Force Sensitivity.
So something about their physical form is so repulsive, the Force abandons them for it. Likely having to do with their practice of organ grafting and sick genetic experimentation on themselves and others.
Considering the level of heinous shit the Sith did, you know you went waaaay too far if the Force abandons you for being too evil.
If the Kwa become the unwittingly reason why Rakata enslave the Galaxy, what would happened if Kwa visit the Sith instead?
It probably wouldn't have been as bad for the galaxy, which says more about the Rakata than anything else.
A sentient species in the corner of the galaxy: I sure do love being an isolated society enjoying our own planet’s natural resources!
The Infinite Empire: *it’s free real estate*
They also made the force saber, which inspired the lightsaber.
I just had the misfortune of finding out a character I respect and like turned into an insulting hot mass. You've made my my day with this unexpected treat, Geetsly. Thank you
Hahahahaha!!! No problem 😂
What character?
Which character?
What character would that be????
What character
- Celestials kinda create the Rakata.
- Rakata then rebel against the Celestials
- Celestials become one with the Force during their "defeat".
- Rakata are eventually purged out by Force ailments and the appearance of Force users.
- Star Wars history as we know it happens (at least, in the Legends universe).
What is this, the history of the Precursors and the Forerunners from Halo?
Ikr?!
I kinda want to see a Rakata Didact-eque character now.
Don't think we didn't notice the Warhammer 40K artwork. Sneaky Geetsly's.

Love the "prehistory" of any setting.
oh my poor well intentioned Kwa.....
and yes please more about the Kwa, Gree, Killiks, Rakata.... the old history is best, would love to see you do more one the very old races
nicely done yet again chaps :)
How to make sure people are watching your video, add a random 40k image in a Star wars video lol. I would love to see more of the Rakatan.
Damn, those Rakata had huge balls to challenge the Celestials in war and win through sheer courage and ruthlessness.
Rakatans building their hyperdrives.
Galaxy: I'm in danger
Also Rakata: *manage to defeat the Celestials aka Space gods*
Galaxy: "Oh shit!"
Now the ricotta are primarily used in the making of a human Earth delicacy: lasagna!
Celestials: We’ll destroy them internally by creating hyperspace anomalies and multiplying them, then waiting it out as they implode from within.
Rakata: 👁➖👃🏽➖👁 - It’s war, then!
I really wanted to see the confrontation between the Galactic Republic and the Infinite Empire! Man, it must be quite something! I can imagine the Rakata returned to the galaxy and wanted to revive the Infinite Empire at the expense of the Galactic Republic.
I actually think it existed after the fall of their empire.
I like the Gloriana battlebarges at 9:23, ahaha.
I love talking about the ancient history of the galaxy. It's cool hearing about a time before the Old Republic.
God I love this era of Star Wars lore. Its just so superior to anything I have ever read.
The last Rakarta on Kashyyk: "Did i switch of the teraformer? Nah what is the worst that could happen."
*The Rakata return in the OT era*
Rakata: "Did you know why Tatooine has so much sand? We did it..."
Darth Vader: "I WILL DESTROY YOU."
No mention of how the rakata invaded the Jedi planet of Tython and lost?
I mean, damn Geets, I love your videos but how many times can you make virtually the same video a different time? Lol
1:10 hey Geetsly, thanks for the nightmares later tonight, much appreciated 😬
I am imagining that the Celestials either gave up fighting the Rakaatan and left the galaxy or were overwhelmed by sheer numbers despite their more advanced tech, much like the Ancients were by the Wraith in the Stargate series
I like the idea that at least some of Star Wars’ mono-climate planets are the result of ancient terraforming efforts… “glassed” planets are another interesting trend, more so in the extended legends lore.
I would love such a video about the human race, like calling wars infighting and stuff, putting a perspective on us as a species
you could cross-shoutout your other channel, the front since wars are a part of it
Really love the video, if you can, could you please make a few about
the Rakata's other wonder machines; The Foundry, The "Mother Machine,"
and Their unnamed Planet Terrafomrer.
Thank you.
Rakata so powerfull they even brought war to the emperor of man
I really enjoy your videos, they're not overly long and you get to the point. I'm also really enjoy pre-Republic and Old Republic era lore, so this was quite enjoyable!

Why else would she stay with Anakin after he admitted to slaughtering an entire village? Granted, they killed his mom first, but still!
I'd be especially interested in the Rakatan/Celestial War
I find it a Shame that the rakata end up extint at the end, after trying to reintegrate to the galactic comunity for milennia, after abandoning all their bad habits…
I find the rakaata interesting because they are extremely similar to the Sith, both being species strong in the dark side. It’s is really strange to see how despite the similarities the Rakaata were able to dominate the galaxy in a way the Sith never got the chance to. Infighting has been a weakness that has rotted every Sith empire from its inception but only became a problem for the Rakaata well after they were on the decline. It goes to show that the dark side can never truly win. It will just keep pushing its users to feed it until they are destroyed, the difference is that the Sith were destroyed by external forces whereas the Rakaata just rotted away over time.
I recently rented (from a library) a visual dictionary/guide on the Old Republic. It touches on all of the weapons, ships, factions, wars, and just about every other event that went on in the Old Republic.
(I had placed a hold on this Old Republic guide before and I was never notified and then the hold on it just got cancelled months later lol./
This video made me think, what would it have been like if the Vong invaded during the peak of the Infinite Empire's power? Who would win that fight I wonder 🤔
Rakata have the tech but the Vong have the numbers.
Love this old republic stuff!
This part of star wars history is so interesting, i loved the story in SWTOR but it takes quite a lot of time to play through that game.
Imagine if the Rakata genetically modified other species. Either to make them more like them or to use them as tools or to make them into obese delicious food stock.
In swtor it's discovered in one of the campaigns (can't remember which) that the rakata helped create certain species like the zabrak and the twileks to help them reestablish their link with he force
The Flesh Raider are a Rakata artificial subspecies.

Excellent post-rock music layered behind the narration.
Sounds to me like the Not So Infinite Empire. Cool stuff. Love me some Star Wars lore.
Absolutely insane
I love this lore so much.
That's very fascinating.
ITS me or the Star wars Galaxy jump into one dark age to other you never get bored
The most interesting thing about this is that Stargates exist in the Star Wars universe. The Rakatans invented hyperdrives to go against that.
Then the Rakatans fought the fucking gods of sentient creation and won, resulting in the weird Star Wars universe we have today. Thank you for reading my vague summary of this video lol
WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE IT HAPPEN BY MAKING A MOVIE ABOUT ALL OF THIS
What I am curious about is if the Rakata never made the star forge would they have actually been able to conquer the universe?
Top video!😎🤝❤️
You have done well
Love the 40k image in a star wars lore video lol
This was a really good video I enjoy it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's hoping you'll explore the Supernatural Encounters: The Trial and Transformation of Arhul Hextrophon in the future. That novella changes a lot of how you view Star Wars (yes, even "Disney Canon"/the Alt-universe) as a whole... two examples being the existence of a Multiverse (eat your hearts out, naysayers) and some connections with other stories like American Graffiti, Alien, and even The Cthulhu Mythos.
I want to know more about Marka Ragnos, his disciples, plans and his conversation with Plagueis
The Rakata: I fought the gods, and the gods FUCKING LOST.
9:15 the corpse emperor approves
Sweet 👍
I also liked the 40k naval battle art in there.
9.15 - 9.29 its settled the imperium of man performed exterminatus on the Rakatan home world XD XD
Niche star wars content is what makes my day
Sooooo from the one picture , seems the Emperor of mankind finished them off ! Damn I wish I’d known which of my brothers were involved with that!!!!
Yes more Rakahtaa plz
I want to see a video on the founding of the Jedi Order and about their predecessors the Jeda’i
I would love to read a story in which we see a slave freeing himself and his people from the Rakaatans!
can you go more into what the individual force powers of the species was like and not just what they could create with the force
We need to make a movie out of this
The Ricotta may be gone from galactic rule but the legacy of the cheese lives on!
The eyestalks on the Rakatan species kinda remind me of Jar Jar Bi--Oh my God.
I'm really wondering what came before the celestials. If they where among the first species to make a civilization and somehow never succumb to infighting, they could understandably so evolve both their technology and themselves at a rapid rate becoming the masters of the universes fabric itself
Just as you say "Weapons of Mass Destruction" you show a picture of the Imperial Navy of He On Earth?! The Inquisition will hear of this!
Didnt know that the Empire was involved in the Rakatan Civil war. XD
The subtitles worked weird for me after 5:00
Did anyone else have this problem?
Maybe they speak like yoda?
Is there a video that show citizens or soldiers of defeated enemy planets were treated by the opposite side? Like, how the Republic treated the Umbarans after they were defeated?
I'm pretty sure there is a rakaatan jedi on geonosis in the arena
9:15 mark… PURGE THE HERETIC! FOR THE EMPEROR!
I just can't get over the fact that the Rakaata fought a war against godlike beings like the Celestials and won. It makes me wonder who would win in a war: The Infinite Empire or the Yuuzhan Vong.
The Yuzong Vong are lucky they didn't come around while the Rakata were still in power.
Those terraforming machines remind anyone else of mass effect Andromeda
I think it would be really cool if we learn that the Rakata and the Zeffo went to war, and that is what caused their fall.
Im sure there is two planets some were very far into the unknown region that has raakatans that are trying to reach them selves to the force I might be wrong tho it's been a long time since I heard it
This would have been so much better than the sequel trilogy
I feel like either the slaves scientist or celestials made some sickness through the force or science both are powerful.
Any story featuring the Rakata would have a Scifi/Horror angle to it.
Humanity First!
The Rikata are probably the most mysterious group in SW
Neat
Interesting.
*the hyperspace anomalies were put in place to stymie the Mnngal-Mnngal not the Rakata.
Who is the most powerful character among the Rakata? Who is the leader of the infinity empire?
Serves the Rakata right, I mean frankly they could have easily built some computer-interfaces (some of those do exist, so why not make manual controls for their tech? Might not work as well as being force-sensitive, but frankly they could have kept control - especially if they bolstered the falling numbers of their force sensitives with combat-droids! They had those and thus they could have easily kept their empire for a while longer - probably not forever, unless they could have cured their force problem!)
more plz
Would love for the Infinite Empire Era to become canon.
I love deep lore 🥰
