- The optional slide F and C notes can be handy tools as expressive devices and also to help keep phrases in the same breath direction. Students should become well acquainted with both options i.e the "regular" AND slide versions of the notes. I eventually get into demonstrating which options I use on 4 different kind of F arpeggios ; the major triad, major 7th, minor 7th, minor w/maj 7. I actually wish I didn't skip over the minor triad. For that I would use all the blow note options. Anyway that is a saxophone neck strap around my neck. Enjoy the trippy color changing I'm currently arm wrestling with cameras and lights.

Oh! I loved your concept of "Harmonica ergonomics". 😀
Good instruction. My muscle memory does the job for me; always automaticly right :-)
I love your videos! Thanks for doing it!
Excellent Tutorial: I'm an experienced Player. Before I play a song I read the score and map out sort of speak those C and Fs as to proper phrasing.I read music Lead Sheets and I can visualize where I am going ahead of time.I agree with you those duplications are very important. However with beginners, they have a lot of problems with the Double C and its confusion with playing a song and losing their place. I called this the "break point".in my vernacular. I like the C on the 4 hole draw slide in very much and handy when a song is focused in the Break area.between the 2 octaves.I suggest that a video should be done on this matter. Thanks for this topic.
Great stuff Ross!
I hope are you plan to teach harmonica lesson .Gary skiller s a Australian stansbury s a.
Ross, why do you think they have the C and F option? Just curious your thoughts.
And why two C's?
It's actually not set up to be an option its just the nature of the pitch going up a half step when you push the slide in so when E goes up a half step it becomes F and the same with B going up to C. By a happy coincidence it proves very beneficial ergonomically to harmonica players.
@@ross-harmonica I know but how would’ve the forefathers of the chromatic known this arrangement?
@@ross-harmonica I, not knowing this final arrangement might have done CEGCEGCEGC BLOW.
