sorry for mis-speaking...I do realize that Stevie Wonder is still alive. ;) I said in the clip that he "was" a good player. I was referring to his recordings...he's still great!
Gregoire Maret for Jazz, Paul Oscher, William Clarke, George harmonica Smith, Carey Bell, Norton Buffalo and Steve Guyger are all worth a listen to. I can see I've duplicated some earlier posts but these would be my go to people. Going to have to check out some of the others as I've got the bug and love the different sound of the chromatic for blues
William Clarke and George Harmonica Smith are a few more. Dennis Gruenling is also great current chromatic player. Joe Powers plays some killer tango on the chromatic!
You sound pretty darn awesome for someone who normally doesn’t play chromatic! For me, trying to play blues on a Chromatic harp ain’t chromatic but Traumatic!😂
I was first inspired by Studebaker John's track Nasty Mother in Eb, I got the same 16 hole chromatic he used and picked up the rifts quickly. The button is in nearly the full song. But that little simple trick at the end play a rift you like on diatonic and pick out the notes on chromatic is simple but I've never tried that and yet pretty easy as all the notes are there you just gotta find them. Great vid

I have a few 16 hole chroms. But on some models I own (pertaining primarily to Swans), when I'm playing, I tend to breath through my nose & the condensation forms on the covers. A major distraction. But I never have that problem on my Chromonica 280. Strange, but that's me
Very nice videos you have made me want to grab a chromatic and start playing as you said I don't actually own one so I'll have to go shopping around a little bit but I want to say that you generate great tone that's the thing that makes it work
An easy way too to play blues on the chromatic is to play in Eb minor with the slide in all the time. Just like Dminor except that you keep pushing the button.
hi ronnie. between hohner 64 280 and suzuki csx 64 chromatix harmonicas. which is better?. Could you give me your opinion on these harmonicas? thank you so much
Sounds fantastic,I'm inspired to try one although they are notoriously difficult to learn,I have a vintage one from the 1930s that I'll never play so I'll be checking the hohner catalogue for a good starter model...
Waww...Waww...Waw...!!! HOHNER IT'S OKE ....Ronny Shellist saya mengeruk banyak ilmu akan harmonica dari Master Ronny Shellist....thank You verry much....anda tahu saya bicara apa....? (I am Indonesia)
Which key chromatic would you suggest . C is most common but in chromatic I hear we can play different keys even on a c chromatic ..is same true for chromatic of other keys that we can switch keys in them as well ?

I have just been given a 10 hole chromatic off a client. Very old but in full working order . Having a lot of fun figuring things out. Great video
Thanks for this recording. I've been thinking about getting a chromatic, and this has convinced me to add one to my kit. Thank you.

Jason Keane AKA Bluesbop is an amazing chromatic player on RUclips. He plays a lot of classics, very skilled.
Yvonnick Prene, William Gallison, Gregoire Maret! Three of my absolute favorites, but these are primarily jazz guys. Great video Ronnie!
Really great playing, you put so much soul in this short improvisation. Awesome! all the best. Holger

Antonio Serrano. His clips on RUclips are insane.
Ronnie escucha a un gran exponente argentino llamado Federico Aristimuño aquí en RUclips, publicó un disco muy bueno de blues con cromática.
William Gallison and Yvonnick Prenne!
Hugo Diaz, Franco Luciani,
Toots, Ronnie. Don’t forget Toots.
yes! thanks! the master himself. and hendrick meurkins
The greatest. So lucky to have seen him live.
William Clarke has to be up there with Toots.
Yo that was great!!

Tongue blocking is key to play blues on the chromatic (Little Walter's style or George Smith).
Did anyone say Larry Adler?
I simply cannot handle this much excellence..... 😩👌💖💕💕💖
*Has a damn heart attack from the eargasm*

Ronnie, it would be a big help to jumpstart my chromatic playing if you would break down some of what you were just playing.
might be able to do that for ya
If you would rather Skype that, I’m cool with that.
like as in a private lesson?
Ronnie Shellist, no free lessons then 😂
should i get a 270 or 280? i'm confused on what the differences are
270=12 holes, 280=16 holes so you get the additional lower octave. I personally like the 12 hole and my favorite is the 270 deluxe.
Anyone looking for a master of the blues chromatic looking at Bill Barrett he's amazing 👏
Robert Bonfiglio!
Um...Toots Thielmans?
Check out Max de Aloe for inspiring chromatic playing
That tone is so awesome. Is that the regular 270 or the Deluxe?
can't remember (I own both). I think the Deluxe.
That is the regular 270. The deluxe has round holes. In this video the holes are square on the harmonica.
Toots Thielemans!
Saya mengamati dengan seksama tutorial dari Anda Ronny Shellist..
