I am in love with your channel! It really is one of the best motivational tools for studying. I will most definitely be recommending your videos to my subscribers :)xx
can you share how you figured out your living situation after getting accepted to med school? what went into deciding on your apartment, roommate vs. living alone, etc?
Hey, I want to be a surgeon too! How far along are you? I'm currently a sophomore college student. I'm a biology major and an English minor (thinking about becoming a physics minor but I'm not sure if it's possible time-wise).
ahhh so good to see young kids aspiring to be a specialty that changes once they enter medical school. TBH, youll probably end up way outside of surgery(statistically speaking). Keep dreaming though! never give up
Your videos are incredible, thanks for sharing your life with us. Another thing that I would add in night time routine is just going through the previous chapters. I personally dedicate 30-60 minutes to go through the topics that I learnt previously to accelerate my memory recall. What I do is I just go to Lecturio and watch the videos in a quick pace, then I do the questions they give me in the end of every video and move on. I've been doing it for a longtime now and I highly recommend it.
"Everything looks more business-y under a white coat." PREACH girl! I'm a third year too and enjoying following along with you. Though we got to wear scrubs for inpatient internal medicine, which was a nice bonus.
I ordered your pens from your store and SERIOUSLY they have CHANGED my life. I had to order more 2 days ago because I fell in love with them. I wish I had these while I was in my undergrad!! But thank you for helping me find MORE stationary!!
its funny because as a nursing student (RN) the first thing i do is take off my scrubs before entering the house and throw them in the washer. maybe i'm being overly cautious with all the patient interactions ^^;
First year dental student dinner-> a bag of chips, a diet coke, 2x girl scout cookies, and a banana. Hopefully dinners get better once I hit the clinic ;-p
Even though I am not a medical student and not really into the subject, I love watching your videos! They are so inspiring and motivating! Just wanted to say thank you for that. Greetings from Germany :)
S&tC! When you said it was 20 years old, I felt really old bc I watched it in HS, early college. 😢 As a psych intern who gets out of group therapy late, my essential night time routine is cuddling with my German Shepherd. ❤️🐾
how do you have the energy to study efficiently after a whole day of work. I am a second year med student and i find it really hard to study if i come home late at 7 pm or something and i usually sleep from 7pm to 10 pm or 12 am. And stay up the night after that. I just want some tips on how I can change my routine.
Sizzy Hawk my exact issue. the only solution I've found is something that sorta ruins your life in that you spend less time at home with hose you love, is not to go home immediately. you find a study room where you work, or a nearby library or dedicated study centre that stays open for the time you need it, and you study there. this will train your brain to not go into the 'nap' mindset you have or 'relaxation, i need a rest or i cannot do any work' feeling you get by coming home. you instead get to keep the motivation you felt at work. then once you're done, go home and enjoy your night. going home to study just doesn't work for a lot of people
keep in mind that she does well in med school, has time to go to gym, has time to make quality content on youtube, she manages her own merchandise store (quality products), and still stays motivated---she either has some great time management skills, or uses cocaine
How do you know she does well in medicine? also how well? and She probably doesn't film on days she can't sleep at night and then sleep through the morning. She shows this permanent perfection on camera which is very misleading honestly.
Hi Jamie! I really like your videos. I think they give us, aspiring med students, a good idea on what med school is like. Its just that I feel like your videos are a bit repeating, in a sense that the setting is almost always the same and it kind of gets boring over time (IMO). But other than that your videos are awesome and very inspirational! Keep up the good work! :)
Hi Jamie, I'm hoping you can answer a question of mine. How much work do you get done in one hour? You get home at 8pm, feed Candy, make yourself dinner, and eat it while watching a show. That should take about one hour? Then you shower, brush your teeth, etc., which takes maybe 30 minutes? That leaves you about 1.5 hours to work on your studies. How much material can you get through in that hour to an hour and a half? It's probably hard to quantify how much learning/reviewing has been done; perhaps let us know how many pages of text you absorbed or something?
I love your videos so much and you inspire me to go to med school one day. I'm going into my first year of university in the fall and I talked to a few doctors that will let me shadow them once I start university. I was wondering if you could do a video as to what to wear, what you should and should not be writing down while examining a doctor, what should I be doing while shadowing and anything I should buy such as a stethoscope and lab coat. That would be so helpful and thanks so much for taking the time to read my comment 😊
I love your videos! Thank you for making them. Totally motivates me to stay on track in medical school. How do manage to maintain your concentration after a long day to be able to study as well? Do you take caffeine?
Thanks for making this video? When do you workout (i.e. in the morning or afternoon)? And how many times per week do you workout? I'm in my very first rotation right now and I find it so hard to fit workout into my routine. Please answer. I'll really appreciate it. Thank you!
Jamie! How many videos do you come out per week? Looking at how busy your schedule is how to do manage? ! Also i was thinking about making a video on how to develop a passion for studying and make it more enjoyable! Because as a doc you will be studying lifelong! So by making it a passion studying will not be painful anymore but satisfying! DO you have any tips on this?
Hi Dr. What is the dental floss brand? Do you recommend any dental product to clean hard crusts on dental root. I don't know what they are called! Thank you
I recently turned 17 and am going to be starting medical school in september. I am really nervous and excited to start. I am really worried about the workload. Any tips you could give a person just about to start med school? X
I'm new to your channel and really like your videos. Your videos make me want to pursue medicine and go to a med school and I thank you for giving me that inspiration. Also, I want to know what med school your attending to?
wow! i liked your night time routine its very detailed routine... i loved it. 👍. By the way since you have brought out your field of medicine and what your are handling may i have you as my advisor for some inquiries or question i may have in my mind when it comes to hypertension? Coz i have a lot of questions though since we have no time to go to the doctor.
How do you decide when enough is enough studying during the evenings? I feel like you need to evenings to decompress, but it's also important to review cases, class notes etc. I feel like I'm going to feel guilty (I start school in August) not spending every minute at home studying during the night.
Hey I'm not Jamie but I hope this helps. So I used to do exactly what you're afraid of, like every spare moment was used for studying otherwise I thought I would fail. Like, it's fine for a couple months but you experience burnout very quickly. What helps me now is making a timetable and if I finish my work for that day, I stop working. That's a rule. If that doesn't work my best friend has this thing where she will not study after 930pm. That's her rule
I just love your vlogs! and got a slight infarction the other day when i saw you comment on one of my vlogs saying you love the videos. Literally nearly died LOL #fangirl
Hi Jamie! I'm only a college freshmen but plan to attend med school. Im just wondering if you listen to music when you study. And if you do, what kind of music do you listen to?
100% ACCEPT! If Medicine drives you and challenges you, then highly consider the oppurtunity but only if you have a strong love and passion for Medicine.
hey Jamie! I just love your videos so much and they motivate me. My finals are coming up soon so please can you make a video on how to study for a exam and give some tips to get A :)
Hey! :) Can I know what of your application made you more likely to stand out and get into med school? I saw the other day a forum thread where people posted their stats and the result of their acceptance. It is very shocking to see that some people had 3.8 GPA and a lot of volunteer, shadowing, tutoring etc etc but who still got rejected...(not even into interviews) It seems crazy how amazing must be the people who get into med school and I respect you a lot. I still have two years before applying and much more to learn.
We had a lecture about a week ago in which they showed the levels of satisfaction that doctors had and internal medicine had the lowest on all graphs (dermatology was the top ) any idea why ?
I spoke to a doctor about this and she told me it's because Dermatologist don't have to worry about dying patients. Few mole removals, acne, etc. It's more cosmetic than anything
hello! i was wondering how you create the animated picture of you and your cat at the end of your video... i would like to do something similar for a business pamphlet! thank you
how many hours of sleep do you get on average ? I watch friends when I'm eating, the best stress reliever, old but doens't age and makes u wanna live in NY even more) I can't get myself back on the desk after 8-9pm though.. just too tired to study after eating and after the night has come.., any advice ?
could you possibly do a video on how hard med school actually is? I know its a pretty obvious question but your videos make it seem so easy haha so im just curious like how many hours you devote to studying and how hard the material actually is (compared to highschool even) and if theres a GPA limit you would put to med school just stuff like that because even with my researching about med school ive never really had anyone say how difficult it really is and what its like other than rotations and stuff Thank you so much
This is how you procrastinate in med school. Watching med school related video
I do not understand how you seem so put together while going through all these crazy schedules and intensive studying! WOW
I am in love with your channel! It really is one of the best motivational tools for studying. I will most definitely be recommending your videos to my subscribers :)xx
Thank you! I'm so glad to hear that :) xx
omg u r here ❤❤
Such an underrated channel, keep it up, love your content!
thanks 😊
can you share how you figured out your living situation after getting accepted to med school? what went into deciding on your apartment, roommate vs. living alone, etc?
I'm also in med school and I do the same thing when I eat dinner, I just watch Friends! :D
I love Friends!
Jamie, have you always been so organised? I'm in my first year of med school and I'm in absolute awe of how put together you are!
What an incredible tip, to stay in your work outfit to remain in the productive mindset. Thanks!!!
Your videos inspired me to try my best to become a surgeon.Thank you
Hey, I want to be a surgeon too! How far along are you? I'm currently a sophomore college student. I'm a biology major and an English minor (thinking about becoming a physics minor but I'm not sure if it's possible time-wise).
Young currenty, 16 so got a long way to go lol but I plan to one day be a surgeon

Infinite Knowledge my uncle told me the same thing when I told him that I'm interested in neurosurgery.
I love how well you control yourself and how you spendt your time big respect
I love how you watch throwback shows. I have been watching The Office when I return home while eating dinner.

I ordered your pens from your store and SERIOUSLY they have CHANGED my life. I had to order more 2 days ago because I fell in love with them. I wish I had these while I was in my undergrad!! But thank you for helping me find MORE stationary!!
I love how you explained what SATC is 😂
its funny because as a nursing student (RN) the first thing i do is take off my scrubs before entering the house and throw them in the washer. maybe i'm being overly cautious with all the patient interactions ^^;

I wish I could go to medical school
Go for it! What is stopping you ?
MedicEne you're right man. We only live once right so why not try the best we can. Thanks
Especialy if you live in the US there is nothing stopping you. Other countries it is so much harder to go to med school.
Ronnicus yeah I'm older now though I'm 24 so I feel like that's too late for me. Is it though ?
No not at all, the oldest person (that i knew about )on my course when i started was 39 years old
lots of people were 24 and above
I'm new to your channel and really like your videos. Your videos make me want to pursue medicine and go to a med school and I thank you for giving me that inspiration. Also, I want to know what med school your attending to?
Can you do an apartment tour? Love your videos :)

We had a lecture about a week ago in which they showed the levels of satisfaction that doctors had and internal medicine had the lowest on all graphs (dermatology was the top ) any idea why ?
How so ?
i dont get it . Internal medicine is a lecture or a speacialist dont have one in my country
We had a lecture on dermatology and at the end she showed us a list of the specialities and how satisfied the doctors who did them were.
I spoke to a doctor about this and she told me it's because Dermatologist don't have to worry about dying patients. Few mole removals, acne, etc. It's more cosmetic than anything
That is a very good point, the work hours too is a plus
hello! i was wondering how you create the animated picture of you and your cat at the end of your video... i would like to do something similar for a business pamphlet! thank you
Dr. Monica Pardo it's a "bitmoji" I believe
Always love your videos :)
