Hey Big Ducks! New player here. I ignored your advice that this build isn't for new players and went for it anyway. I started PoE this league with an ED/C trickster and was looking for a build to swap without leveling a new char. With all the ressources you have given in this guide and all the tips you have revealed in this guide it was even possbile for a total beginner like me to make a build like this work! I just killed my first elder and shaper EVER with this build after i struggled a lot with bosses on my OG build. So big, big shout out to you that you make so comprehensible guides which i would have never ever even thought about trying to puzzle together otherwise. Thanks! P.S: As much fun the build is to play, making the build was even more fun! So always happy to see more content like this!

Hey bro, love the vid as usual I was running my own version of this build (Assassin first, swapped to Inquis as it's better) up until a few days ago. Abusing phys gained is just way too easy. I went the power charge / badge of the brotherhood route, with both my phys and lightning converted to cold. Pros: Multi-multi-multi screen/offscreen as your phys gained boosts your explodey chest insane amounts. If you using Blast Freeze, you never die. Being Ranged boosts survivability big time compared to BV. Cons: Pricey if you want single target damage too. Boss dps very lackluster when compared to things like minion builds. Pen Brand dmg is not instant if there is nothing nearby for the brand to jump to. Seeing how well it smashes 100% deli, Pen Brand seems very overlooked this league :)
Love the build , great video! Personally i enjoyed assassin version better was pretty cheap to get your foot in the door . The ceiling for this build is insane with harvest craft , did the lightning to cold with 7 power charges currently doing 37 million dps per brand (4). Got about 85ex into the build atm . With better wands and 1 tripple crit multi jewel i can double that damage . Its insane. BRANDS ARE LOVE!
I played full shaper penance brand almost all the league (beside others cheap builds) and i have some advices that might help with all the respect that you deserve for this amazing job. the first one is about brand duration, is not really important the brand duration if you manage to hit some cast speed breakpoint, because on clearing the holy conquest is jumping 3 times per seconds and for bosses if you spam the brand quickly the brand duration is almost unncesary (i know i have over 20m dps per brand with my current gear and is not a good example). What i mean with this is more important get all the +1 spell and extra phys and lightning that you can over the brand interaction. Second, seeker runes pasive is not that great, prob is better to get grand desing for more damage, because you already have a lot of attachment range, but yes, those one are more expensive. third, and probably the most important advice is orb of storm is prob one of the worse skills for proc the ele weakness that i tested, if you want almost same effect the hydrosphere is really nice, better range and more duration, or you can use void sphere for more range and a bit of slow and control (with second wind the void s. have full time up). I want to say again that this is an amazing video and i'll share to my friends that wanna test the penance and idk how to say them that i can't make it with low currency because mine is super expensive.
Looks like a pretty cool build. I would prefer if the game was more like this with screen clutter, it's one of my biggest gripes with Deli and Headhunter. I love using builds like self curse, but you can't see anything on the screen so you're just staring at the overlay. Much prefer this style.
I really like this take on the build. Might give this a try next league since it does seem more entry level than the 2 Mirror versions with Assa, even with shaped Call of the Brotherhood.
I've been instinctively ignoring legions that aren't in New Vastir TBH. It does okay in legions, not the best but can fully clear them in time on most maps. Ele Hit Deadeye much better for legions.

I think 2xshaped CotB is like, 50% More damage, if not significantly more. You’re doing significantly more chaos, your chaos damage is about doubled because of the resistance ignored, and you’re also ~doubling your ele damage vs bosses by being allowed to use ele weaknesses and removing half of boss resistance
There's a guy on PS4 servers who delves day and night and he's into like depth 7000 something, people had been asking him for weeks what his build was and he finally revealed that he's running Penance Brand, had to check it out..
i would really suggest you try out 1x grand design + holy conquest and 3x grand design + remarkable for your mediums the extra cast speed on grand design doesnt seem that strong but it actually feels a lot better for both single target and clear also divergent swift brand feels really damn good (been playing penance brand almost the entire league)
Trying to get damage right, but not sure how to manipulate the hit rate on brands. Cast speed is obvious, and so is skill duration, but how do you get the higher hit rate?
Yeah and they might be even more next league. Ritual is pumping out Trash to Treasure, thankfully the build doesn't absolutely NEED them. I played it and cleared most content before borrowing the rings.
I was looking for bosser and ended watching this video. There might be an issue with spreadsheet. The reason 1st brand is on 11 stacks and 2nd one on 8 is because it assumes you need to cast two brands with cast speed 0.3 and during that time, 1st brand will activate almost 3 times with activation frequency 0.12, right? But what it doesn't take into account is Grand Design. Casting two brands with no delay between them makes both of them reach 11 stacks in 1.36 duration period. Hence you had too much duration playing this build if I'm not mistaken. Nevermind if I'm right or wrong, the vid is highly informative. Thanks.
Working for 3.14? Have a trickster im playing right now so i can reroll, if the build works for 3.14? What amount of currency you need to start? If you dont go for shaped rings.
This isn't a cheap build / league start and I'll be spending most of my time on league start testing / builds. This is a end of the league higher investment build.
Are you totally sure that brand loyalty works, I have my doubts, cuz penance brand doesn't do dmg the explosion does, and the requirement for an explosion to happen is the brand been removed, so brand loyalty would not give you dmg per attetched brand, and even if you have more brand on the ground they don't instant atetch they have i travel time

30ex min. for 1 shaper Call of the Brotherhood ring on standard. yep. and can these things be made any certain way, and if so how much does it usually cost to make? nvm you addressed it somewhat. If I were to go the the trash To Treasure route with a cold/lightning shaper based 2-stone ring, what are the probabilities that I'll end up with Berek's Grip or some other unique 2-stone ring like precursor's emblem? 22ex for 1 prophecy cost on that one. Might just be cheaper to chance orb regularly at that cost dont ya think?
Berek's Grip is a league specific item to Domination / Nemesis. Don't be in that zone and you shouldn't have a problem. Precursor's Emblem is a Delve upgrade path item I'm pretty sure. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you can chance it.
I thought the gain phys as extra elemental on weapons was nerfed back in the day to be only applicable for that weapon's actual attack physical damage? O_o You know, in that one patch which "killed" statsticks?
iirc the nerf was that you could no longer get multiple 'gained as extra' affixes and the values were reduced substantially (from up to 30% to up to 12%) edit: it was just the values and a mechanical change for melee abilities, it still works for spells
Ele reflect is a no go without the sextant, beyond that there are annoying mods but most things are okay. No regen is rough and requires you to movement skill spam sometimes to get mana back. Less recovery rate is a big nerf to healing.

endgame always looks great but after spending ages trying to get currency i'm spent, this game requires way too much time to get to the fun parts. it has it's ups and downs but when you are sort of mid end game the grind gets too tedious
This is the thing I still dont understand in PoE, imagine if we convert 100% lightning damage to cold and then 100% cold damage to fire, shouldnt that mean we do 0 lightning damage and 0 cold damage? 5% of 0 damage is 0 damage right? :/

cotb is more expensive now cause it isnt guaranteed to get it with trash to treasure anymore. also, did you even watch the video? he said many times that you do not need the shaped rings

It is not very expensive. I don't understand why he didn't demonstrate it without the 2 expensive rings, but you can use the regular COTB just fine. The shaper ones are a min-max thing.
@@Bauermayers like he mentioned, he borrowed the shaped cotbs from cori, one of the mods in his discord server. and he demonstrated the build with plain cotb on stream plenty of times
@@fikriamsyar5698 I might come as a shock to you, but most people watching this video don't watch his stream. There was no reason not to demonstrate with regular COtBs here. Using 2 expensive rings he had to borrow only gives fuel to negative comments about how much the build actually costs. He got flack for something like this before, by using a 15ex bow to demonstrate his TR Trickster when he could easily have used his cheaper 6L Silverbough.
@@tylordobey7543 because inquisitor has ailment immunity, MASSIVE REGEN of both ES and Life because of reworked node, easy damage from Battle Mage with certain items but not sure about last one. But it's so damn tanky now while still having more or similar damage vs situational damage boost of RNG chaos node from Trickster
Before I borrowed the rings I paid roughly 8-9 Exalt I think? You lose maybe 25-30% damage by not using the rings. You could also cut a lot of corners and save 20-30% on the costs and lose maybe 10% dmg. Mostly in clusters.
@@BigDucks idk man Penance Brand is notorious for being hard to get going and requiring currency. Even OP build need quite a bit of investment nowadays.
@@ILikeGuns1992 I agree with you, that is why I was interested as always in seeing if I could get it working without completely breaking the bank. I managed to get a pretty good result out of roughly 10 exalt which I think for penance brand is pretty good.
autoclear comes from holy conquest notable and the damage IS huge because with full shaper gear, you ignore their chaos res which results in big ass pops from the brands.
Sure, I have another build coming up that can do like 50M dps on a shoestring budget. But unfortunately not every build is like that. If I decided to invest some more this build could be doing significantly more damage. However I just wanted to play a brand build and this was one of the best ones available for the budget I wanted to spend at the time.

I was finally able to save up enough to get the shaped rings, and the build melts bosses, feels great though those rings are way too expensive

Bigducks could you do the same thing but with split arrow, in a doomfletch prism? Prism specal effect of all physical dmg gains 100% EACH ele dmg

if you REALLY wanted to, you could start with toxic rain and later do a full respec into penance when you have currency rolling

Can't do ele reflect, since brands are not like totems or minions, it's your damage.

Don't you use brand recall? The moment I use it on left click was the moment I really enjoy brands
These brands disappear when they explode at the end of their time. Brand recall instantly explodes them so it isn't worth it.

when you post a guide start with what type of toon to make, some of us new users have no clue what to make.
The toon is in the title. "Trickster" is a sub class (ascendency) of the "Shadow" class

Atziri can be challenging. Any good build that can do bosses should be able to kill feared.

cotb is more expensive now cause it isnt guaranteed to get it with trash to treasure anymore. also, did you even watch the video? he said many times that you do not need the shaped rings

It is not very expensive. I don't understand why he didn't demonstrate it without the 2 expensive rings, but you can use the regular COTB just fine. The shaper ones are a min-max thing.
@@Bauermayers like he mentioned, he borrowed the shaped cotbs from cori, one of the mods in his discord server. and he demonstrated the build with plain cotb on stream plenty of times
@@fikriamsyar5698 I might come as a shock to you, but most people watching this video don't watch his stream. There was no reason not to demonstrate with regular COtBs here. Using 2 expensive rings he had to borrow only gives fuel to negative comments about how much the build actually costs. He got flack for something like this before, by using a 15ex bow to demonstrate his TR Trickster when he could easily have used his cheaper 6L Silverbough.

@@tylordobey7543 because inquisitor has ailment immunity, MASSIVE REGEN of both ES and Life because of reworked node, easy damage from Battle Mage with certain items but not sure about last one. But it's so damn tanky now while still having more or similar damage vs situational damage boost of RNG chaos node from Trickster
Before I borrowed the rings I paid roughly 8-9 Exalt I think? You lose maybe 25-30% damage by not using the rings. You could also cut a lot of corners and save 20-30% on the costs and lose maybe 10% dmg. Mostly in clusters.

@@ILikeGuns1992 I agree with you, that is why I was interested as always in seeing if I could get it working without completely breaking the bank. I managed to get a pretty good result out of roughly 10 exalt which I think for penance brand is pretty good.
Autoclear. where? Huge boss damage. where? According to video montage Sirus dps must be 5-7mil max ;)
autoclear comes from holy conquest notable and the damage IS huge because with full shaper gear, you ignore their chaos res which results in big ass pops from the brands.
Damage can be converted only 1 time.

Sure, I have another build coming up that can do like 50M dps on a shoestring budget.
But unfortunately not every build is like that. If I decided to invest some more this build could be doing significantly more damage. However I just wanted to play a brand build and this was one of the best ones available for the budget I wanted to spend at the time.
