I have a 2017 Street Rod and I love it! The first few days after I bought it I thought I had made a mistake because of the riding position. As soon as you learn how to properly sit on this thing it really gets comfortable and a lot more fun. You have to slide up on the tank pretty close, get the balls of your feet, or toes, on the pegs and squeeze your knees in tight. It really does make a huge difference! With a K&N intake, FP3, and exhaust this thing rips pretty good and sounds awesome!
Thank you J&P cycles!! Finally someone recognizes the potential this bike has! Just needs a few tweaks to be really something special. 10-15 HP more, little better ergo setup and its an all out winner for HD. I was so impressed with the Street Rod I sold my 16' FXDLS and bought your exact bike, 18' XG750A in Black. I hope someone makes a cam and full exhaust for this bike. I'm sure there is plenty of potential locked inside that motor. Maybe ask HD what they are doing with their flat track bikes? Let the mods begin.
im 29yrs old ive had numerous sport bikes r6's triumph street fighters ect. wanted a harley in 2018 i went and looked and saw this i test rode it and i bought it i actually bought this exact one black.. i had screaming eagle plug wires and i took the baffle out that requires a dye grinder but it was simple i loved the bike it does wheelies very easily its a blast on a back road i road 6800mi on it before on drunkin night with some buddies i totaled it and snapped my clavicle out through the skin the bike was destroyed im married now so this spring im buying a street glide to slow things down but this bike is truly amazing for the price
Handy tip, the street models DO have a tach and a gear indicator. You have to cycle through where the miles and trip is at and it'll have rpm/gear mode. Rented a Street 500 while visiting my brother and only figured that out on the last day!
What a great review! Intelligent, honest, and a great sense of knowing what makes sportsbikes good while at the same time knowing what makes classic Harley's good too. I really enjoyed watching this video.
I have this bike black and all. With the screaming eagle intake V&H slip on and tune but I get soooo much shit from other Harley guys making fun of me thats it’s not a Harley until we hit a curvy back road and I’m gone then they say man that little thing is quick lol but yes throw some drag sportster bars on it throw mirrors in the garbage no one needs them
So, I like the potential this bike has, but I'm 6'1" tall, a fairly strong but lean kind of build. On any motorcyle if I feel too cramped in my legs because (a) the saddle is too low or (b) the pegs are too far rearwards while also being too high.... it doesn't take long for me to start feeling uncomfortable. It seems to me unless the exhaust system on this bike is redesigned, the only place the right footpeg can exist is where it currently exists. And for me, that's a deal breaker. I reckon that would be a deal breaker for most guys my size too perhaps?
I really want to like this motorcycle. Will Harley keep it around? Will it have a healthy aftermarket culture? It the pipes could be relocated so foot doesn’t rest on it would be great.
The right foot peg is higher positioned than the left one. Bizzare and uncalled for. I don't know wtf they were thinking. Correct me if I'm wrong I think Harley doesn't have an aftermarket "pack" to change the footpegs position. Which means you'll have to buy whatever you find on Ebayand mess with the bikes ergonomics even more until you find the sweet spot.
I like the idea of the Street Rod 750, but to me, it's a typical Harley: It's too big, the ergos suck, Harley's engineers seem to know nothing about lightweight metals like aluminum and magnesium, the brakes are machined out of solid oak, etc. At least one can be had brand new for less than 9,000 bucks. Although I'm not in the market right now for another new bike, I was looking forward to the Bronx, but I'm sure that would have been a disappointment too. Under powered, overweight, overpriced. Sigh.
Lol, Dodge inspired mirrors... Could be worse, remember 1st gen Guzzi centaros?!! They didn't even take promo shots with the mirrors on! Oh well. Harley needs a brawler. Just an "up in your face" naked bike. Not a "oh I'm just trying to fit in" bike.
Hey, great review of this bike. I actually bought one a year ago and love it. In your sweepstake link, is that an S&S slip on exhaust on the street rod? If so, how does it sound?
What kind of motorcycle is that. I mean the genre? It looks super cool, but I cant find similar vehicle in other brands (prefer Japan). I read a lot of bad reviews about this unit, but it is soo good looking bike. I know Kawasaki Vulcan S is super cool cruiser, but ground clerance and more sporty naked look on this HD is amazing.

No, no it's not. It "could" be, but if the Motor Company wants to be competitive, they need to put their purse down, drop their shorts and let it all hang out. Look at what everybody else is doing: Indian, Guzzi, and the kids that wrote the book: Ducati.
@@jpcycles I haven't, but I'll look for it. Don't get me wrong, the Street Rod is cool and it has tons of potential. But I know you guys will make it better. And Robert D, I apologize if you thought I was going off on you, not my intention.
@@tommyt2854 no worries man. A motorcycle is very personal thing. You are just very passionate about bikes.as am I. Keep the rubber side down now I'm going to get on my Electra Glide and go.
Full credit to the Indians however.... the Asian sub-continent Indians I mean. A decade ago who would have thought they'd be pumping out high quality world class motorcycles? Sure, there's improvement yet to happen, but a lot of their product is pretty bloody good.

I'm 5'6 and in totally comfy. Love this bike and on the used market you get amazing value. I am having a blast on this bike!

Great review. Just changed my mind about this bike!
I just got one recently, and I agree with you about the foot pegs. I'm definitely wanting to do something about the mirrors as well.
I sat on one in the showroom - I’m 6’ - those foot pegs were a deal-breaker. Massive shame, ‘cos overall it’s a great package.
Great video! I love my 2018 HD Street Rod 750, its definitely a lot different from my 96 Super Glide.
Thanks for this honest review, you just saved me 10k

Great video. I agree, its way to cramped, those foot pegs need to be moved either forward or backwards.

Kevin Slater get bro! It’s worth the money I own one, the best looking Harley ever. Really fast
Maybe if they offer more custom parts I hate that your foot rests on exhaust. It is great looking though
Kevin Slater that’s not a problem at all the exhaust it’s really well placed and it doesn’t move at all
super fun ! to prawda ! Super motocykl.
Can you shift it with your hand? Very important for shifting contest...with gorilla masks on.
☹️I wish I could work on my motorcycle but it will void the warranty
harley davidson its just a name
