I’ve listened to her a lot lately going to work. Two things strike me, first is how she has the confidence to take a great song and deliver it in her own style - seriously impressive, and second how her supporting band match her delivery with musicianship beyond words. Anyone can copy a song like the original but the artistry comes when the original is treated reverently and performed with pride. Cat, you’re a great artist and we love you.
saw her in Napa this past weekend and boy oh boy what a great show. smokey rich voice with Dylans lyrical masterpieces and a rocking band? good stuff

When she did desolation row I was wiping tears that ran down my face......then noticed the people to my left and right were doing the same.
Then I looked out at the entire crowd........same.

I was a bit self conscious when my tears started flowing during her opening song. Then turns out that the guy next to me cried more than I did.
I'm seeing her thus weekend. She us my jam bucket list her and pixies and for a bonus modest mouse.
Before tonight, my favorite CP late night performance was David Letterman Metal Heart. Tonight she sounds amazing and looks happy and healthy.

it's one of her worst albums for me, and I even love a few songs on it, it has a great song, I'll put it that way

That band is spot on. They evoke the sound and feel of Dylan and his band in 1966, almost like a time-machine.

My drummer called me a few years ago and asked if I wanted to go see Mumford and sons the next weekend and I didn't know them but said yes if course I'll go, Cat Power opened for them and both bands were amazing
I haven't listened to any of her Dylan covers from this album yet. Just bought tickets to her Feb show in Nashville yesterday and want to hear them live for the first time. I gladly spent more on the ticket than I ever have before. 2nd row seats. I missed out on seeing Chan a few times before in the 90's. Totally stoked for this!! ❤ Just wanted to share. 🙂

Bob Dylan understood and communicated about the soul of America better than any other artist. Cat Power's album covering Dylans Royal Albert Hall is a beautiful tribute to his poetry and a great cultural and spiritual moment for all of us, just as it was for those attending the original Dylan concert in 1966. What a special and amazing thing to get to listen to within our lifetimes. Its up there with my list of the greatest albums of all time, another being "Garcia Plays Dylan". So amazing to see these great artists covering Dylan later in their careers. As we all get older and wiser we realize how important dylan is to us, to our own souls, and to the soul of the nation. Thank you Chan for this loving tribute - it is a masterpiece.

Cat power is a phenomenal singer, I discovered her from the movie V FOR VENDETTA and after that, became a big fan of her work, and to see this for the first time and how she still rocks is great! 🎊 ❤

Wow, I used to listen to her about 15 years ago and had no idea she was still singing and performing. I like her cover of this song but would have preferred to hear one of her songs.

Seen Chan so many times live. As much as I love Dylan, this song doesn't suit her. The rest of the Albert Hall album is *much* better than this
agreed. this was probably my least favorite track on the album...but also probably the most well known of the songs (from the electric half), so I get why it was chosen BUT i think it was the weakest of the album. There are some fantastic songs they could've gone with instead.

Weird to have a fairly straight backing cover but an idiosyncratic vocal performance. I'd prefer a backing which suited the vocal more as I think my brain is expecting to hear the album vocal take when the music is basically straight from the album.

After listening to this performance last night (on my tv) and again today on my phone, something isn’t right with the mix. Her voice sounds like it’s being swallowed by the instrumentation, and I can’t understand a damn thing she’s singing. (I mean … this is Dylan … but …) And she keeps sliding flat, which makes me wonder if *she* was having problems hearing herself. 🤔 I agree that the overall energy of the piece is flat as well. But … now I’m curious to hear more about her. 🤷♀️ Everybody has off nights.

Nice rendition (but let’s face it, the practically isn’t a band on earth who can’t cover that incredible song and not make it sound more than decent. Hell I’m a total amateur and I can get people on their feet as I sing it especially if you use the same instruments like they are doing.). No offense to Cat Power at all who I love but it’s a bit of a cheap shot.
