    We will rent on arrival at the Madrid airport, then head north to Bilbao, and west to Altamira, then Gallicia, then down to Seville , with side trips around Andalucia. Finally, back to Madrid. After returning the car, we will enjoy Madrid. We always like to stay in the old part of town, and no hostals or hotels have parking. It looks like we will be paying $25 / day to park, for a car that costs less than $50 ! Thanks for sharing all your wisdom, Tony.

    Ugh! The thing I hate most about traveling in Spain...PARKING! Another thing that makes it complicated is that parking spaces can have different color lines (blue, yellow, orange, white, etc) with each having certain restrictions. Some are pay spaces. but even then, that doesn't apply all the time. Sundays and evenings after 8 PM can be free. And our little tourist town removes the pay kiosks during the low season. It can be nerve-wracking. Otherwise, thanks for another informative video!

    Another excellent video with very practical tips. My family of 7 will be renting a 9-seater to tour Spain and while researching for places to park, I found out that not all parking garages can accommodate such a big vehicle. Most have height restrictions that one needs to be mindful of. Perhaps you can include this information in your video.
    Also enroute from one city to another, we plan to stop at some attractions along the way but are concerned that our luggage will be in the car. The vehicle does not have a covered boot. Any tips on how to minimise the risk of break-ins?

    • @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal
      @ROADTRIPSpainandPortugal  2 года назад

      Thank you, Catherine. We would need additional resources to devote time to research the issue of parking lot heights. It's important indeed, but we would need to tour the main cities of Spanish looking specifically for it.
      Stopping with your card loaded is always a huge concern. What do you mean when you say your vehicle doesn't have a covered boot? A 9-seater should have one. The only foul-proof way of preventing a break-in is to park your vehicle reversing it against a wall. And even so, if the thieves felt the reward was good enough, they might attempt to break in through the sides.
