You uploaded the video just in time! We are about to start our roadtrip in Andalusia next Saturday! Thank you for all the helpful information, not from this video only, but all of yours!
Planning our first trip to Spain on a motorcycle and I quietly was worried about filling up with fuel, and being a man - I will not ask 🤣 so your video is perfect and perfectly timed. Thank you. Love your channel. 😎
Another great video Tony! Thank you! My personal opinion is that it is best to read reviews like Google of any car rental you are considering. There are many horror stories out there like being charged for gas when you bring it back with a full tank or for damage you did not do.
As far as i know the petrol stations work in very similar way to other locations. I lived in other countries and there was not much difference. In some of them you can pay with card in advance, fill the tank and just go away without any contact with the station personel, In others a man will ask you how much you want and will do it for you, and in others you can do it yourself and go inside to pay. All of them are allowed to pay with card. Its very rare to find a gas station allowing only cahs.
Hola Tony and Cecelia - You have done multiple excellent RUclipss on fast trains, urban metro / busses, and road trips with rented autos. There is a gap in there - the occasional intercity / regional bus (or train?). We will visit Manzanares el Real for a day from Madrid. Not worth renting a car for this single day trip. It took a lot of research to find the line (724), the schedule (several sites had errors), and the station location. Type of ticket and how to pay is still a question but we'll figure it out. For rural travel I think this fills the gap nicely between the bullet trains serving major cities and the multi-day road trip with a rental car. A suggestion for you once you finish catching up on the next 100 videos you have planned 😀
Hi Steve, thank you for your suggestion! While it is kind of easy to sink your teeth on the high-speed trains, regional trains and buses are a far more complex subject with a myriad companies and variations. We wouldn't know where to start. For that reason, we cover the specifics whenever we deal with a destination or a day trip. All the best!
The part at 7:00 was super important! I wish I knew how the card would be debited ahead of time. I ran into a station that only had 5, 10, 50, 100 euro increments and knew I had about 40 euros worth of petrol to fill, so I paid the meter 4 times in 10 euro increments. The service lady looked so confused 😂

We've never had that problem, common only with low cost operators that offer their services at lower than average rates.
Thank you for this video!
Our pleasure!

Very useful video. Do any screens at the pumps have the option of showing instrutions in English (or other languages)?
It depends on the petrol station, some do have other languages available.

I can imagine the surprise! 🤣
Hi , i'm just wondering - can a card with 6 digit pin works to pay for petrol in the machines?
Don't have a definite answer for you, cards here have 4 pin numbers. Have a back-up alternative.
How do I know which type of deisel fuel to use? I just got half a tank of Repsol e+10 diesel.
the credit card that i have uses 6-digits numbers unlike those in europe. does any the gas station in Spain use wave payment method?
We don't know the answer to your question.
is contactless credit card payment available at all/some spain GASOLINERAS?
@@konghl6043 it is available at some.
