So all that anger, hatred building inside him found an innocent defenseless kid to take it all out. Klaus was *The living reminder* of his wife's betrayal. He was too weak to forgive or to get it out like a grown man by talking, by yelling or worse punishing the real culprit. He wasn't leaving the woman who wronged him. Then she dares to go to dahlia for help and get mad at dahlia for granting her wish but putting a price on it when Esther could’ve help herself if she didn’t stop practicing 🤦🏽♀️ 2. Esther knew her husband was being distant to her so instead of leaving him she decides to have an affair and have a child from that affair! Cheating is not right regardless of circumstance. Then she lied and withheld this information from both child and husband. And willingly made her child weak knowing how her husband is a Viking and values strength! 3. After turning her kids into vampires she then talks of her distaste towards them and calls them abominations and verbally abuses them for centuries! Torturing them for centuries blaming them for what they’d become when it was her fault in the first place! Then she tries to make everything good by trying to turn the mortal in which she failed to understand that “you cannot undo what’s already Been done” So in conclusion Esther was definitely the villain and not a good person!!
THE FACT THAT HE APOLOGIZED TO FREYA NOT TO KLAUS. Not to the person he beat to the point of nearly dying. I don't often root for character deaths, but I take no small amount of consolation in a world, fictional or no, that has Mikael ejected from it.

Third reason, realizing Nik wasn't his son and his wife betrayed him having an affair with a werewolf. Losing three children with one a result of a betrayal? Man I'd be mad as well.

This......this is the reason Klaus is the way he is. Mikael loved the child he knew for only 5 seconds more then the son who he knew for centuries. Klaus poured his heart and still all Mikael couls think abt was Freya. He apologized to her instead of the son he wronged the most. Mikael reaches out for Klaus as he dies, showing that in his finale moments, he realised how he had failed Klaus. I love this show because it shows that no one is pure evil, they’re just either a product of their time period or a product of their environment, but they never chose to be evil. (Mikael chose to abuse klaus, don’t get me wrong, but he was a Viking father who was trying to protect his family in violent times, trying to raise them to be warriors so they wouldn’t die. Nowadays, this wouldn’t fly, but Mikael’s era didn’t understand abuse like we do now, he didn’t have such a luxury). I do like how Klaus acknowledges that Mikael’s father might’ve treated him the same way. Such a well written show
I wish they gave Mikael a redemption arc and be a part of the family. Imagine him being the protective grandfather to Hope, that would’ve been interesting.

This......this is the reason Klaus is the way he is. Mikael loved the child he knew for only 5 seconds more then the son who he knew for centuries. Klaus poured his heart and still all Mikael couls think abt was Freya. He apologized to her instead of the son he wronged the most. I feel so bad for Klaus, if only he had better parents he could have been a better person. His parents were the cause of his treacherous ways.

I love this show because it shows that no one is pure evil, they’re just either a product of their time period or a product of their environment, but they never chose to be evil.
(Mikael chose to abuse klaus, don’t get me wrong, but he was a Viking father who was trying to protect his family in violent times, trying to raise them to be warriors so they wouldn’t die. Nowadays, this wouldn’t fly, but Mikael’s era didn’t understand abuse like we do now, he didn’t have such a luxury).
I do like how Klaus acknowledges that Mikael’s father might’ve treated him the same way. Such a well written show
