    It's as if you've been following me around.
    I started Archery (Recurve) just a few months back and I've never made my own knocking point so while I was shooting today it started coming loose and I was talking to another new archer about me wanting to learn this and have it done.
    So thanks for this. Perfect timing :)

    At the nocking point RUclips channel, we endorse this method! :-) Great tip on the hot melt! Thank you.

      Hutchie 2112 I am pretty sure the headgear does make all the difference. did you also try different models? I stick with the tropical hat, it works flawlessly for snap shots
      Sincerely,
      a bare bow shooter.

      "a typical day at the lake with frieds" end up with me having a crapheap stick bow and at least 5 (working) arrows xD ...

      Hutchie 2112 We won't hold not having a nocking point against you. Just as long as you have the information about how easy it is to put one on. It's all about choice. I like not having to determine the arrow angle, when I nock an arrow.

      Hutchie 2112 Just watched your video on the new hat. Do you think that we should have this conversation on a forum or our RUclips channels? :-)

    What's the advantage of tying nocks rather than just getting brass ones?

    • @bluebow68
      @bluebow68 5 лет назад +4

      several reasons..1/the brass nocks add unnecessary weight to the string..and 2/ The brass nocks have sharp edges and can tear your tab up somewhat..at least ware the tab more..3/The string or dental floss method makes for a smoother release..hope this helps..

    • @erg0centric

      The first one is a stick of hot melt glue at 0:40 , the bottle at the end is cyanoacrylate

    Good and informative video...however you left out how many knots you tied .

    • @zoxwolf2133
      @zoxwolf2133 7 лет назад +2

      One knot up, one knot down x 3. No need to go in another direction with enough thick serving thread. If you go in another direction one more time you will have one fat nocking point which is useless weight on string and further more if you dont use glue it can become loose in time. If you aply glue it can stick to your serving and you cant fine tune later. So one direction is enough, apply enough pressure and melt ends nicely. Now you can screw nock up or down like nut on thread for fine tune. Later you can decide to apply some CA but it is not necessary. I use Angel Mayesty 0,26" for my nocks and never had loose one.
      Cheers

    I guess if u need to change it, you won't be able to. So initially maybe don't make it so permanent until you know it can be permanent and then make it permanent.

    No need to go double on nocking point. Just in one direction with let say Angel Mayesty 0,26" and melt it with lighter. No ned to aply CA glue. It will stick to your serving and you cant fine tune nock point afterward. I am shooting like this and never experience loose nocking point.
    Anyway nice video World Archery

    There is only one nocking point. Stop calling the knots nocking points. The the nocking point is the area between the two knots. The ''nocking height" is the vertical measurement on the string horizontal from the arrow rest.
