mago is the evolution of the original testarossa and a competitor to the new testarossa, how does it compare in your eyes? Have you climbed in the new testarossa?
@@alexbarcovsky4319 indeed i own both and climbed in the testarossa (new and old model) until the sole was gone (still thinking about a resole or not). testarossa new is softer than mago at the tip and takes a long time to break in (while changing its stiffness in the break in time) while mago is good out of the box and stays exactly this shape and offers always the same support due to its clever rubber tension system (rubber never wears out while conventional midsoles do). testarossa feels for me unsecure on rock (a lot of foot pump on small footholds) whereas the mago boosts toe power and offers really good support all the while adapting to all angles. tried it since heinz mariacher designed both (testarossa new is testarossa old with a new heel cup bolted onto it and new color) you can see the Mago as the evolution what Heinz has learned the last 15 years designing climbing shoes. If you want to compare shoes of similar technology level you have to compare booster with boostic, mago and chimera new. I also quite like the chimeras and there you could argue it comes down to fit...mago or chimera if you like shoes with laces. for me the mago is a better fit my wife prefers the chimera.
@@Natheliss Welp, that settles it. My rossas are coming from their 3rd (and probably last) resole right now, so after they bite the dust, Ill go for the magos. Thanks for the reccomendation. Maybe one last thing - hows the shape? Are they as wide as rossas or narrower? What I love about rossas is the suction fit for my wide ass feet, zero deadspots.

@@alexbarcovsky4319 i would say they are a bit broader than testarossas but with the laces you can customize it quite nicely
