Why the hell the whole RUclips isn't full of videos like this?
I've watched many of marking tools videos, but none of them was that informative, like yours. Many, many likes.

My sewing and patternmaking teacher always use soap to mark her fabrics. I found out it worked better than my chalk for knits specially.

Hi Shae, I finally was able to aquire the simplicity draft n cut ruler, that you use. This has been a game changer. I could not get this in NZ were I live but ebay had them in a pack of three, so even thow it cost me a bit it has been worth every penny.

Keep up the teaching, I love to sew but altering is so out of my expertise, you help sooo much. Thank you!!

Great video! I recently marked alteration lines using contrasting thread with long tails so that they could not fall out. It was a very fine fabric and I was afraid even safety pins were too much. It worked great! Think red thread on white, or white thread on dark green. The contrast is the trick.

What brand of tailor’s wax chalk and the safety pins do you recommend?

Love your program! Where do you get your apron? What is the brand and fabric content? I have tools at many work stations at home and it would come in so handy. Thanks for your expertise 😊

I have a question for you: how would you reinforce the knees on a linen pant before sewing it up so that it looks professional? Thanks for your videos; I love them.

Could you talk a little about your apron?
What items do you keep in it? 😊

Great question! I might have to save this one for a video so I won't share everything but one unexpected item; a lighter! And always my fiskars spring snippers.

With heat pens the marks will disappear with heat. However the marks will reappear with cold.

Is that Carmel super glide? I can't find anything even remotely similar in the UK - any tips?

I use a company here in American out of New Jersey called Wawak for all my supplies and yes I believe this is carmel, I find it to have the smoothest glide.

@@sewshowwithshae Thank you so much for your answer, that's really helpful. We can't get hold of carmel over here, and Wawak don't ship internationally sadly. I have some wax chalk but it's not nearly as good as yours - I've been on the search for a UK supplier for ages!

So in your opinion what is the best marking tool on polyester? It seems a lot of dresses are made of this material. Thanks 😊

Right now I'm going with the heat pens, they're the most exact and seem to disappear the cleanest!
