What a great tip to turn your seam allowance and press the casing in place prior to sewing it up. I also use the same color coding pin trick. Always, two different colored pins where I need to leave a gap. Awesome tutorial!
I’m just finishing my last two dresses which I’ve done in the largest size as I believe they are in short supply? Received my labels so hoping to be able to send them off next week. Thanks for letting us know about this project Sam 😊
Thank you Sam. I've made 5 so far, just received my labels today from Jacqui. This is thanks to you and your good information. Really happy to help. Take care Dorothy x
Hi Sam, I received the labels today Thank You so much. The confusion around my name stems from childhood. I was Christened one name then called by another at home in school and by friends. Crazy makers. 🤣😂🤣
Thanks for the “Sew Through”, but I’m wondering if it might have been easier to complete the sewing of the neckline channel BEFORE you sewed the side seams (while the garment was still flat), running the neck elastic as the last step of the garment. In the same vein, I might be tempted to sew the SLEEVE casings and run the elastic through before sewing up the sides, and even anchoring the elastic of the bottom of the sleeves at the same time as sewing the side seams . My old faithful Singer doesn’t have a detachable deck, so the more I can do in a flat format, the easier it is for me!
Hi Sam, thanks for the video. Just about to start cutting out the peasant dress. I’m not on Instagram so can you tell me where I can get some labels please. Also can I use a cotton jersey as well as a woven? Thanks again!
Hiya Kay are you in the UK - Jacqui Onslow is the UK contact for labels or I'm happy to send you a few but obviously don't give your address out on here, if you're on Facebook you could send me your address via FB messenger

I love this peasant style dress. It sews up so quickly!!!
What a great dress to sew for an older girl. I especially like the look of the gathered tier with a different fabric.
Hi, your tip on pressing the casing down first works a treat.
Glad it helped Toni 🤗
