Nice!! I have a 1995 ZRT 800 thats really a ZRT 900. I also havent rode it in at least 20 years. Its in excellent condition with about 5000 miles on it. When I put it away every season, I completely drained all the fuel from the tank and carbs, fogged the engine, loosened the track tension, greased everything and sprayed the suspension components with WD 40. It sits about 3 feet off the ground on a cart in a shed. I hope when I go to fire it up soon, I have as good of luck as you did!
I’ve got a 90 440 prowler that’s nearly mint. We got her going this weekend for the first time. The prowler is liquid cooled vs fan but the Arctic cat 440’s of the 90’s are great sleds
Good looking sled! I picked up a 95 Jag Deluxe and watching your video was like a rerun of going through this one. I like the single carb, no synching to be done. What do you use to clean a carb if it's all gummed up? Mine wasn't too bad but needed more attention than yours. Got it running good now I just need to fix the taillight wires just like you did 🤣. Keep the great videos coming, I'm enjoying them 🤘
air screw is 1 turn out on a 95 Z 440. Main jets 280 was stock. 270 down to zero problem with that they are so cold blooded. Got play with the choke they take a long time to warm up. 1500-1800RPM I have had 3 of those 95 Z 440's . Bought 1 in early 96 traded in with 7 miles on it from a dealership I traded that in for a 98 zr 600 LE EFI Cross Country could years later. Why? Know idea it was a great sled. I got one given to me oh about 4 years ago. Same thing been sitting. then I bought another one for $300 2 years ago. I also have a 92 Jag Special which is the same thing as the Jag Z 440. We have raced that. In different events. The Jag Special, Jag Z and Z440 all share the same engine 440 Fan with dual carbs. They are 50hp the Super Sport 440 should be 50hp also.. They made a Super Sport 488 fan. That had 56hp. Race rules got changed so JR race sleds basically what the super Sport and Z's and Jag Special are got limited to 50hp. Stock E. The 488 fan super sport is the same as a Indy trail. 56hp. The Indy Trail 488 fan was at one time the I500 sled. Until the 90 or 91 XC400 which was really a 440 liquid. Why they called a 440 a 400 is beyond me??? Then the next year called it a XCR 440. I think the Cougar 500 fan was the Arctic Cats I500 sled. Before the Prowler Special and EXT Special liquid 440. They had a 530 EXT Special which there was a kit to limit it to 56hp. It was a race rules thing with ISR. I got the part numbers for the 56hp detune of the 530 liquid.
I've got a 1993 artic cat 700 that I've got sitting and wanted to revive. I put it away and it had great spark but no fuel,so I got new fuel pumps and put those on it but now no spark. Any ideas what to check?? It's been sitting outside any obvious things you would look at? I don't see any chewed wires and splitting the ignition at the 4 wire plug still didn't give me spark. Love the vids tho.
At the 4-wire plug you might have to jump two wires some cats are backwards. Where they need to be grounded to run? Normally like a brown and black wires. Don't quote me on that but you can find a diagram and verify. That's definitely the first step though is bypassing switches.

Didn't you put oil in cylinders before trying to start it?
That one no, did use mixed fuel on the first time start to see if it would run.
Twin carb 440. They don't make em like they used to.
I would agree!
