    nice work! small comments for the bits i saw (weapon slots and hull mods):
    1:55:15 - you said something about the Flux / damage stat on the weapon card indicating its effectiveness against shields, but the stat merely indicates how much flux is generated by the weapon per unit of damage it does
    2:01:56 - only certain weapons will pierce shields, like the Tachyon Lance, and even then only for hard flux, and technically this mechanic isn't related to EMP damage
    2:24:10 - while Auxiliary Thrusters don't increase max speed, they do also increase your acceleration and deceleration, beyond simply improving turn rate/acceleration. Also, I've never experienced or heard any one else mention your overturning problems, fwiw

    • @HitPointInnGaming
      @HitPointInnGaming  2 года назад +4

      1:55:15 - I see. I was under the impression that per 1 point of dmg, it generates 0.9 hard flux on enemy when hitting shields, thus it states the effectiveness against shields, correct?
      2:01:56 - Then it practically only arcs through the shield on energy beam weapon types when enemy has high flux? I've seen graviton and tachyon lances do it. Maybe I thought the Ion cannon had a similar effect.
      2:24:10 - True, I must have forgot to mention acceleration and deceleration. Regarding the overturning problem, it appears when you are not using Shift to aim the ship towards the mouse pointer and it is more noticeable on frigates.
      Thanks for the feedback man! I really appreciate this! I am aware that I still have things to learn.

    • @Sypher32
      @Sypher32 2 года назад +7

      @@HitPointInnGaming A Railgun does 100 points of damage per shot, which, due to its kinetic type will be doubled to 200, prior to other modifiers. However, it generates 90 flux for the firing ship, hence you have 90 Flux / 100 Damage = 0.9. The Flux / damage stat has no relationship to shields; it's purely a measure of the efficiency of the weapon.
      Ion Beams can arc through shields, Graviton Beams can not. It's specific to the weapon. Ion Cannons can arc, but only on hits to hull/armor.
      Fair enough re: overturning. I tend to use the turn to cursor setting often.
      And yeah, no problem! These things will pop up here and there when you make an 11 hour video! It's still impressive work regardless.

    Been watching since your Warband guide and I have to say that I love how thorough you are in your guides to these games that have so many different mechanics. One thing I do want to point out though is that the Colossus is okay for a cheap cargo ship early on but once you need to buy another, it's a much better decision to sell your old one and upgrade to an Atlas. An Atlas compared to 2 Colossus ships takes up only 1 ship slot, less supply upkeep, less fuel burned, and more cargo carried. The only drawback to the Atlas is that it's 1 burn speed slower but you can slap on Militarized Subsystems and Augmented Drive Field

At the helm of a Prometheus tanker, overdrive'n and rigged to blow those Ludd damned Moloch pawns, and techno-bastards to Kingdom come. lol what a wonderful meme that would make.

  • @guitartruong3981
    @guitartruong3981 2 года назад +41

    I'm not sure if this was mentioned anywhere, but one thing you don't seem to mention is how fragmentation damage weapons are very flux efficient in their stat. You have to multiply the flux per damage number by 4 when calculating damage towards shields and armor sure, but this makes them function like pseudo-energy weapons for ballistic slots (1.2 flux/dam (on thumpers) is comparable to many blaster type energy weapons that can cause hard flux). This makes them good generalist weapons that can be used for pd or keeping up pressure on both armor and shields.

That being said you use the word utilize constantly and you use it to mean use, which it doesn't actually mean :p I know its a small thing but it was like Chinese water torture lol. For the record you use a shovel to dig a hole, you utilize a shovel to brain an intruder. To utilise something is to use it beyond its intended use. Other than that though it was great.

    Hardened systems lets your frigates last longer in battles of attrition and fleet engagements. Comes in handy when you start fighting large fleets and stations.
    Current state of the game(0.95.1a) lets you select any skill you have the requirements for.
    Speed is great for chasing down enemies that want to fight another day.
    Integrated Point Defense AI makes all your small ballistic and energy weapons in Point defense negating your opponent's burst damage (in the case of missiles) or reducing or negating it in the case of strike-craft.
    After all you can't do damage if you're dead.

    The first thing I did after the tutorial was survey and settle a planet in the system next to where I started.
    Early game late game.

      @@HitPointInnGaming actually, after watching it a couple times and thinking a bit about it, I think that an "in-depth ship analysis" would be pretty neat, specially abstract concepts like "is this ship worth it's DP cost", and "punching above it's weight"

    At 23:10, I'm not sure why you'd deactivate sustained burn, over holding down the S key. I can't say it faster per say, but I prefer not having the delay as I transition back into sustained burn.

      QQ if its not too much hassle buddy, when (if you even will) you drop a video going indepth about the full range of ships, strengths/weaknesses and/or their varients? as thats basically the only thing im left scratching my head at.. i mean its nice having 4 differant varients of Brawler (Elite/Assualt/Com & TT) with 2 differant types of hull (Standard and TT) but its got me stuck on what ones overall the best at what job and what i should and shouldnt be sending what ships/fleets into combat with other varients ects even after using the simulation like a TABS minigame.
