I do believe yoga is from hinduism. But many tamil christians believe that yoga is christian. They claim thay Jesus christ came to india and practiced yoga and thats how yoga came into existence. I was in despair, terrified and stressed beyond my capacity for tolerance. My life was well and truly in danger, both physically and spiritually. I cried out, "Jesus, help me!" He immediately took action to remove me from that life, feed me and he surrounded me with brothers and sisters in the Church who carried the load for me until I was home, safe with my family. As a Muslim practicing yoga for several years , what I can say is this new born man experienced "Jesus", as a result of the rigorous practice of yoga. The mind was getting trained for intense focus. His experience is a result of that practice. Yoga is a tool that helps people from "believing" something to experiencing something.

Thats an interesting theory. I found Christ after yoga as well. However I would strongly disagree that yoga is the path to Christ. I realized that I do not and cannot follow the path of Shiva and rejected it entirely including poses that are worship of false gods. I saw that the guru was corrupt like many Christian pastors. He was about fame and fortune to the detriment of the people although he is very popular. When I realized that yoga and devotion to a guru was blocking my path to enlightenment the true G-d revealed Himself to me. I read the entire Bible in 6 months and devoted myself to an ascetic life and devoted my soul to the true and only and living G-d. According to His word, worship of false dieties does not bring one into holy union with truth. However in His everlasting mercy, He knows who is truly seeking Him. And to those individuals He reveals Himself regardless of what path they are on, what family they are in, what ethnicity, etc. According to the holy scripture those are few. Not many. Not the majority. Few. Although the gate is open, the path is narrow, and few there be that find it. But while we have breath we can still find truth if we seek it wholheartedly. I pray you ask and seek and find all truth with your whole heart, your soul, your mind, and all your strength. It will lead to enlightenment that cannot be described.

One should reflect that Jesus did not found Christianity. He tried to reform Judaism, and died as a Jew. It was not his intention to create a separate religion. It was Saul (later called Paul) who founded Christianity. I think teachings of Jesus were the real thing. It is not easy to find a book compilation of Jesus's direct teachings, which is a great pity.

The Holy Spirit just led me here. A few minutes ago, I got a pop up notification that suggested yoga to me, I almost installed when I realised it's not just exercises but it involves yoga. Then I had questions in my head about yoga ....and here I am. Thank you Holy Spirit for enlightenment

Yes, And Yoga is not the medium. Yoga which means union in you takes you away from Jesus. Concept of Yoga and meditation is to help a person achieve his or her own divinity. This is against Christianity which says as original sinners, our only way for salvation is to surrender unconditionally to Jesus. This Christian Yoga is nothing but a sinister business model to make money.

Yoga/meditation is a beautiful thing for mind and body. Yoga has been there for 5000 years and even today modern science acknowledges its benefits. In 60s and 70s the hippie culture unfortunately gave it a bad name by associating it with drugs.
Yoga is dangerous tho. If you are meditating to empty yourself then just imagine what will replace that emptiness. And plus many people who have gone into yoga experienced panic attack, anxiety, depression and also became more suicidal. Yoga is not smth for Christians because Christians depends upon Christ for our righteousness. The Christian meditation is upon the word of God and not ourselves.

Iam an Ayurvedic student in india and know about yoga. This is totally based on Hinduism. Iam currently in 3rd year of the course and am a Christian. After undergoing so many things about Ayurveda. I think iam going to leave this course. This is against my faith

We're so blessed to born in Sanatan, where we're bound to love every being including animals and not to eat them unlike what other religions say. To know yourself, you need to know the One who created you :) Jesus grew up in Spirit as He grew up but the truth is the same He was fully God and fully human and we were so loved by God that he sent his son Jesus our Christ to die for our sins and Jesus was risen from death on the third day. His death killed what was meant to kill us(sin), his resurrection gave us life in Him. He did it out of love, for you and for me. And he would do it again if that means you can be reconciled with God. I don't know how this seems like a guilt trap to you, I promise you none of the Christians who talk about gospel don't mean to guilt trap you, they just want to help you know that truth. God has given us choice, I hope you choose the right One. God loves you so much!

Truth was Christ was crucified for our sins but we were all forgiven on that cross, you just have to have faith in that truth that we are forgiven. And the thing is Christ just didn't die but He came back alive, He was risen. They say we have to work for our own salvation but the price for it has already been paid by Jesus, you are free of everything that makes you guilty, you are forgiven and you are a child of God. what he is describing, i experienced in yoga and meditation with shiva and kali ma....so i think it depends on what energies you are manifesting in your heart and that each person reached the divine in their own way. yoga is not right or wrong. it's just that that method was not meant for him to touch the divine. not to mention, he had people praying on him, directing energies at him he accepted and was probably open to receiving during his yogic training, and accepted what they were sending. this can really happen to anyone in any belief system. very nice story though.

I think there's a difference between using Yoga for exercise vs dedicating All your time, thoughts, and energy to using it. I believe like in most things, there needs to be a balance and an understanding of how things are used whether or not those things are Yoga or something else. Remembering to Focus on God as our top priority and following His Spirit can help us stay balanced.
You have no idea what yoga can do. There is no way to enlightenment except meditation. There is meditation in Christianity too, but they do not suggest that to anyone because they want to keep it to themselves and not make people enlightened. That way they can keep the power in their hand by not telling the truth. It's simple. Praying and clapping is one thing, but meditation is altogether a complete different experience. I can challenge you if you find any person with mild to medium depression, bipoar disorder ask them to learn Raj yoga and they will not be in need of their meditation in some time. Infact I'd it is started as soon as possible there won't be a need for meditation, but keep following with doctor too. Other mental health diseases like schizophrenia, psychosis,. OCD will definitely require medication. Our little poor kids are pumped with medicine for ADHD, ADD when that can be completely taken care of by meditation. Kids are suggested some simpler meditation forms, but western world is so obsessed with medicines that they don't care that little kids taking medication for AdHD to calm them down. what would it do to them when they grow up. They will be completely dependent on medication. Meditation helps in health and well being too. People are taking medication for anxiety as if it's sugar pills. Anxiety can be very well managed by meditation completely and even if one has started medication they can start Raj yoga meditation they will be definitely benefitted. It works on all levels. There are certain schools of yoga that focus less on Shiva and more on universality. Very true. This is by far the direction the entire world is heading. You may not be aware, but the pope of the Romans is promoting universality as are the Free Masons, the Rosicrucians, the atheists, etc. It is not simply a goal of Hindu, New Age, NAR and/or Buddhist leaders, but of nearly all groups. Everything is the formless god manifest on some relative sense, in the ultimate sense gif cannot be spoken of, this is the Tao, Brahman, the formless infinite. This reconciles duality and non-duality, because through this sense, the dualistic god (god the father, Vishnu, Allah, god with form) is only a relative emanation of what early Christian ascetic Meister Eckhart coined as: The god head, the formless infinite beyond all concept and limitations. Ramakrishna stated that both the dualistic god (god with form as separate entity, saguna Brahman) and the non-dual conception of god (god without form formless infinite as existence, consciousness itself, nirguna Brahman) were equally real and worthy of our worship and devotion, although these practices present themselves in different ways (which is why you get different religions) herein lies the peace of God: nothing real can be harmed, nothing unreal exists. This is a common misconception about yoga, which is that it requires non-Christian beliefs to practice. Yoga itself is nothing more than body weight manipulation exercise. Anything can be Godless or of any false god if someone makes it that way. Meditation is only the practice of controlling your thoughts and increasing your awareness. If you make these things about Buddha, Hindu or some other cult, then that is you imposing that on the practice. Me personally, I praise the Lord that I am able to be fit through yoga. I praise Jesus in the workout. That's because I am a believer. I could praise any false god in my yoga practice. I choose to praise the Son because I am born again. You can do anything on earth and choose to praise the Lord, worship a false god or be an atheist. The thing that you do does not make your faith. Your faith is an internal decision. If you are Christian and you drove a Chevy truck to work, would you say that the Chevy truck gave you the ability to work, and would you thank the Chevy truck for giving you life? Yoga is the same. The issue is that each pose is a pose of worship to individual “gods”. That in itself is breaking the commandment to not have other gods before Him, the one true God. All other (little ‘g’) gods are nothing more than demons. Even the poses, which may be beneficial physically, goes against God, whether the intent is there or not. That is just like Satan, to take a little truth, then twist it, so people will continue following him and believing him instead of God. Any and all exercise not rooted in idol worship will have the same benefits and more, because you are honoring God. I believe that is the point being made.

Everyone I knew involved w/ yoga usually also battled some type of stronghold as well. Alcohol, drugs, eating disorder, OCD...illnesses etc,. Yoga opens the door to spirits that are NOT of the Lord! I was tolerant of yoga until I had an experience w/ the Holy Spirit.. I then received clear discernment about it and to encourage people to stay away from it.
Yoga/meditation is a beautiful thing for mind and body. Yoga has been there for 5000 years and even today modern science acknowledges its benefits. In 60s and 70s the hippie culture unfortunately gave it a bad name by associating it with drugs. In fact if you are doing drugs with yoga you will not get any benefits from it.
Yoga is against Christianity and it defies the teaching of Lord Jesus. Yoga, meditation and other Hindu techniques are expected to help you find union and divinity within yourself. You could strive towards becoming Jesus and be independent of any surrendering. There is no such thing called Christian Yoga or meditation and they are just business model to exploit vulnerable people. Practice Yoga and meditation by all means but not under Christianity and by its faith because there is a serous conflict between yoga and Christianity.

I have a friend who grew up Christian who is now into yoga, then got into breaking crystals and now goes to coal mines with her daughter to get crystals and now her daughter is into witches and is gay. I have been praying for this old friend but recently I had a vision of all the times I've preached on social media in the past , and I seen myself typing ,putting up parallels of what's happening now In our society compared to the scriptures in revelations and people were saying, your tripping and not taking it serious, then in a flash I seen this old friend I just mentioned And she was looking at the TV and it was chaotic all over the place, suddenly in her mind she thought of me, she went to my social media and my picture was up but I was gone. I was raptured up. A lot of peoples social media pages were up but they were gone, raptured up already. Truth is needed now.
Keep praying and ask God to removed the spiritual blindness from her mind n sent some people across her paths to tell her about Jesus. Dont judge her, just show her love and be kind to her.. Set 30 minutes a day to pray for her and watch what God will do.. Write it down when you starting praying for her.....Try to pray early in the morning before the sun rise . jut just make sure you pray for her. Ask GOD to give you words what to say to her... The bible say with loving in kindness have I drawn thee..don't give up on her .just pray bc God does hear and answer prayers you dont want to run her away from Jesus, you want to run her to Jesus...always tell her that Jesus loves her.... I think a lot of yoga teachers are getting bought by the church to talk against yoga. Today I saw another yoga teacher giving similar reasons. Church is trying to supress yoga like the Romans tried to suppress Christains in the first 3 centuries. Church is insecure. It wants people to have blind belief. Jesus wanted people to learn yoga, pranayama and meditation. Church wanted to establish its supremacy over the whole world. That's why the truth was hidden. I follow Jesus not the church any more. Yoga, pranayama and meditation made me a better follower of Christ. I have more control over my mind and thoughts and Jesus wanted everyone to have more control over their thoughts. I have become more compassionate and loving, a better human being. These are the values Jesus wanted everyone to nurture. What is Yoga? The word yoga from the Sanskrit language means "connection". Yoga is the human endeavor to connect man with the Lord through body postures and breathing exercises. Yoga is essentially considered by many to be an individual discipline, a way of life, a tool for self-improvement, a scientific art of maintaining physical and mental health, and a spiritual device. They say yoga is a good weapon to combat social challenges such as depression, stress, anxiety, workload, polluted food, environmental and media impacts. Many of us think of yoga as a simple exercise that relaxes and tightens muscles. But it also focuses on the principles behind the gym. Circa BC. There are a total of eight types of methods such as Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyakaram, Dharana, Meditation and Samadhi. But later in the 15th century katha yoga, which incorporated only two aspects of asana (a particular sitting position exercise) and pranayama (breathing exercises that inhale and exhale), became popular all over the world today, somewhat cleverly avoiding the philosophical logics that confront other religions. Philosophical background of yoga: Yoga is clearly against Christian philosophy. We learned that yoga is an attempt to connect man with God. There is a big difference between the two in their view of God. According to the Hindu concept of thirty-three deities, all that is seen is God. It says that the Lord pervades everything in the cosmic average as a spiritual object without a dominion. But Christianity makes it clear that God is the one who created all the cosmic averages, including man, by His Word. There is a difference between the two in the concept of manhood. The idea of yoga is that since all that is seen is God, man also attains the divine state through physical asanas and breathing exercises. It is as if Satan deceived Eve by saying, "You will be like the gods, knowing good and evil" (Gen. 3: 4). The Holy Bible is a creation created by God in his own image; Says that creation and creator cannot be one. The idea of yoga is that man's inability to realize his superiority in the matter of his basic problem and its solution is the cause of all his problems and that he can achieve it by his own efforts. According to the Holy Scriptures man's sinful condition is the cause of all his problems; The blood of Jesus Christ removes all sin and cleanses him. It is a gracious gift from God; It is something that cannot be earned by effort. Yoga teaches one to focus on oneself instead of the true deity. It encourages him to seek his own conscience, preventing him from seeking Scriptural answers to life's difficult questions. What's wrong with that? That's right, yoga somehow benefits itself. Then what's wrong with that; It sounds to my ears that some people say that there is nothing wrong with just taking a yoga position and exercising, leaving out the philosophy behind it. That is unlikely to be right. All forms of yoga are spiritual practices. Every yogasana position is the worship of Hindu deities. Physical asanas and exercises are inseparable from their spiritual involvement. In this regard, the journal Hinduism Today (April-June 2003) stated in its own words, “Separating Gautama Yoga from Hinduism is a deceptive act. Many yoga teachers do not know that its roots are in Hinduism and its spiritual purpose. ” When diseases are cured by the grace of the true God, it is only by accepting that diseases can be cured by the power of evil forces. That is not surprising; Because Satan also disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). So one cannot become a deity by eliminating disease. But, because our God is the true God, He bestows not only bodily pleasures, but a perfect divine bliss on the whole soul and body. So do not believe all spirits, but test whether those spirits are from God (1 John 4: 1). How it does that job is very important. Is it driven by magical power contrary to Scripture? Then it will ultimately bring about slavery, not liberation. So you have to have the mindset to test everything before accepting anything. Only then can the good catch up. While it is not easy to clearly define what is good and what is bad in alternative therapies such as yoga, one must embrace the mantra of "abstain from all that appears to be evil". Everything that does not come by faith is sin (Romans 14:23). So it is better to stay away from dubious activities. Christian Yoga? In recent years a new form of Christian yoga has sprung up, combining physical and breathing exercises with biblical meditation. Christian yoga is basically a word paradox. Can we describe someone as a Christian Hindu or otherwise a Hindu Christian? Does it secrete bitter and bitter water from the same fountain? (James 3:11). A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit; Scripture clearly teaches that the bad tree will not bear good fruit (Matt. 7:18). So it is very important to consider the root cause of the tree of yoga. Preach the Gospel… Heal the Sick This is the sequence of the command given to the twelve disciples (Matt. 10: 7,8). Spiritual well-being is far more important than caring for one's physical well-being. Because, physical effort is of little use; Godliness is of value to all, because it promises promise for this life and the life to come (1 Timothy 4: 8). Let the scriptures be our meditation; Let prayer be our training: Biblical meditation refers to thinking about and embracing the truths revealed in the Scriptures to what extent they are relevant to us. David's Meditation Song. 119 are clearly repeated throughout. All Scripture is inspired of God (2 Tim. 3:16) and we are certainly worthy of meditation. God speaks to us through the Scriptures; We communicate with Him through prayer. We know that even in difficult circumstances, Daniel knelt in his attic three times a day, kneeling before his God in prayer and giving thanks. Prayer is the best exercise in taking our problems to the Lord and seeking a proper solution. Like Paul, who concluded: “If food makes my brother stumble, I will not eat of my flesh forever, so that I may not cause my brother to stumble.” We will lead the way. Therefore I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. This is the kind of worship you can do (Rom. 12: 1).

The reason why I practice bhakti yoga is that I can experience theory in my life and know it is true and it is logical and meaningful. I value truth, faith is not enough for me. I have tried to study christianity, but it does not make sense to me and it does not give me all the answers for my questions unlike teachings of vedas that is so complex and logical. So even If I wanted, I cannot be a Christian, sorry. Every Christian gives me different answers, there is so many christian denominations based on belief, not knowledge and truth. And I am a seeker of knowledge & truth, not just belief and sentiment.

I am an Indian Christian and I practice yoga every day. Yoga is basically an excercise for your body and mind. There was always some kind of meditation in each part of the world. Yoga helped the indian yogis to be calm and focus in their work. If you don't practice yoga or other similar meditations you alone are the loser. There are a lot of catholic nuns and priest who teaches yoga in their schools here. As an Indian Christian it is very disappointing to see people talking bad about yoga.

So thankful Jesus opened your eyes! I am a follower of Jesus. My doctor wanted me to try some easier poses of yoga for my health. I wasn't sure I should, but went ahead anyway. Very quickly, there were demonic manifestations. I repented to Jesus and renounced my involvement with yoga. I will never do it again. Christians (anyone!) who do yoga are playing with fire.

Thats an interesting theory. I found Christ after yoga as well. However I would strongly disagree that yoga is the path to Christ. I realized that I do not and cannot follow the path of Shiva and rejected it entirely including poses that are worship of false gods. I saw that the guru was corrupt like many Christian pastors. He was about fame and fortune to the detriment of the people although he is very popular. When I realized that yoga and devotion to a guru was blocking my path to enlightenment the true G-d revealed Himself to me. I read the entire Bible in 6 months and devoted myself to an ascetic life and devoted my soul to the true and only and living G-d. According to His word, worship of false dieties does not bring one into holy union with truth. However in His everlasting mercy, He knows who is truly seeking Him. And to those individuals He reveals Himself regardless of what path they are on, what family they are in, what ethnicity, etc.
According to the holy scripture those are few. Not many. Not the majority. Few. Although the gate is open, the path is narrow, and few there be that find it. But while we have breath we can still find truth if we seek it wholheartedly.
I pray you ask and seek and find all truth with your whole heart, your soul, your mind, and all your strength.
It will lead to enlightenment that cannot be described.

One should reflect that Jesus did not found Christianity. He tried to reform Judaism, and died as a Jew. It was not his intention to create a separate religion. Yoga/meditation is a beautiful thing for mind and body. Yoga has been there for 5000 years and even today modern science acknowledges its benefits. In 60s and 70s the hippie culture unfortunately gave it a bad name by associating it with drugs.
Yoga is dangerous tho. If you are meditating to empty yourself then just imagine what will replace that emptiness. And plus many people who have gone into yoga experienced panic attack, anxiety, depression and also became more suicidal. Yoga is not smth for Christians because Christians depends upon Christ for our righteousness. The Christian meditation is upon the word of God and not ourselves.

Iam an Ayurvedic student in india and know about yoga. This is totally based on Hinduism. Iam currently in 3rd year of the course and am a Christian. After undergoing so many things about Ayurveda. I think iam going to leave this course.

What's the difference between Abhramic and Dharmic religions is:
Abhramic religion believe that there is only way to reach god and they are superior than others whereas Dharmic religion teaches, the only way to reach god is by yourself. You need to understand yourself. To know yourself, you need to know the One who created you :) Jesus grew up in Spirit as He grew up but the truth is the same He was fully God and fully human and we were so loved by God that he sent his son Jesus our Christ to die for our sins and Jesus was risen from death on the third day. His death killed what was meant to kill us(sin), his resurrection gave us life in Him. He did it out of love, for you and for me. And he would do it again if that means you can be reconciled with God. I don't know how this seems like a guilt trap to you, I promise you none of the Christians who talk about gospel don't mean to guilt trap you, they just want to help you know that truth. what he is describing, i experienced in yoga and meditation with shiva and kali ma....so i think it depends on what energies you are manifesting in your heart and that each person reached the divine in their own way. yoga is not right or wrong. it's just that that method was not meant for him to touch the divine. not to mention, he had people praying on him, directing energies at him he accepted and was probably open to receiving during his yogic training, and accepted what they were sending. this can really happen to anyone in any belief system. very nice story though.

I think there's a difference between using Yoga for exercise vs dedicating All your time, thoughts, and energy to using it.
I believe like in most things, there needs to be a balance and an understanding of how things are used whether or not those things are Yoga or something else.

You have no idea what yoga can do. There is no way to enlightenment except meditation. There is meditation in Christianity too, but they do not suggest that to anyone because they want to keep it to themselves and not make people enlightened. That way they can keep the power in their hand by not telling the truth. It's simple. Praying and clapping is one thing, but meditation is altogether a complete different experience. I can challenge you if you find any person with mild to medium depression, bipoar disorder ask them to learn Raj yoga and they will not be in need of their meditation in some time. Infact I'd it is started as soon as possible there won't be a need for meditation, but keep following with doctor too. Other mental health diseases like schizophrenia, psychosis,. OCD will definitely require medication. Our little poor kids are pumped with medicine for ADHD, ADD when that can be completely taken care of by meditation. Kids are suggested some simpler meditation forms, but western world is so obsessed with medicines that they don't care that little kids taking medication for AdHD to calm them down. what would it do to them when they grow up. They will be completely dependent on medication. Meditation helps in health and well being too. People are taking medication for anxiety as if it's sugar pills. Anxiety can be very well managed by meditation completely and even if one has started medication they can start Raj yoga meditation they will be definitely benefitted. It works on all levels. I pray Jesus reveal his true preachings to his followers and not the ones given to people in it's current form. Amen

There is no 'central authority' hacking 'meditation?? Bizarre. My Christian church even teaches meditation classes. You do not have to leave the Truth to meditate. Meditate on the Bible all through the day, as we are meant to do, (including listening to youtube videos of sermons) & you will be free

Yogic techniques are used in several religions, like Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, etc. The tools of Yoga (meditation, asanas (postures), breathing techniques, etc.) can be used by anyone, including Christians.
Yoga has its first mention in Hinduism, it says a hindu can get Moksha "liberation" by yoga, which makes it hindu, Buddhism, Jainism incorporated those from hinduism as they were born out of Hinduism, it seems funny when random mofos like you says anyone can do Yoga, then every one can do namaz including Christians, do it then.

There are certain schools of yoga that focus less on Shiva and more on universality. Very true. This is by far the direction the entire world is heading. You may not be aware, but the pope of the Romans is promoting universality as are the Free Masons, the Rosicrucians, the atheists, etc. It is not simply a goal of Hindu, New Age, NAR and/or Buddhist leaders, but of nearly all groups. In fact, the popularity of this idea is growing so rapidly, we expect it will be the dominating doctrine worldwide soon.
In the teaching of Yehoshuah, according to the scriptures, this is the spirit of the antichrist and it is growing in popularity as many false christian churches are also now, against the holy scriptures, embracing it as doctrine.
While it certainly has it's appeal, it will ultimately single out one small group of non compliers who will be the remnant of those who truly follow Yehoshuah.
Certainly this offends others even though it is a teaching of nonviolence and charity. The spirit of this world cannot stand the Spirit of Christ and will not ultimately tolerate that YHWH is above all spirits, powers, and entities everywhere and is alone seated on the throne of supreme authority. So there will soon come a day that only His true followers will become utterly rejected of society for their devotion.

And Jnana yoga (the yoga of philosophical inquiry) this is the constant inquiring into the nature of self and of god, as Swami vivekananda so beautifully put it, the ultimate realization of jnana yoga is, “thou art that” the realization that you are one in the same with god, not that the ego and the body and the mind are god in the dualistic sense, but this is non-duality, the body kind and ego are all unreal, and false perceptions, an illusion if you will, and the ultimate realization that only God is. Everything is the formless god manifest on some relative sense, in the ultimate sense gif cannot be spoken of, this is the Tao, Brahman, the formless infinite. This reconciles duality and non-duality, because through this sense, the dualistic god (god the father, Vishnu, Allah, god with form) is only a relative emanation of what early Christian ascetic Meister Eckhart coined as: The god head, the formless infinite beyond all concept and limitations. Ramakrishna stated that both the dualistic god (god with form as separate entity, saguna Brahman) and the non-dual conception of god (god without form formless infinite as existence, consciousness itself, nirguna Brahman) were equally real and worthy of our worship and devotion, although these practices present themselves in different ways (which is why you get different religions) herein lies the peace of God: nothing real can be harmed, nothing unreal exists. Thou art that. We are all but instruments of the divine will.

This is a common misconception about yoga, which is that it requires non-Christian beliefs to practice. Yoga itself is nothing more than body weight manipulation exercise. Anything can be Godless or of any false god if someone makes it that way. Meditation is only the practice of controlling your thoughts and increasing your awareness. If you make these things about Buddha, Hindu or some other cult, then that is you imposing that on the practice. Me personally, I praise the Lord that I am able to be fit through yoga. The issue is that each pose is a pose of worship to individual “gods”. That in itself is breaking the commandment to not have other gods before Him, the one true God. All other (little ‘g’) gods are nothing more than demons. Even the poses, which may be beneficial physically, goes against God, whether the intent is there or not. That is just like Satan, to take a little truth, then twist it, so people will continue following him and believing him instead of God. Any and all exercise not rooted in idol worship will have the same benefits and more, because you are honoring God. I believe that is the point being made.

Everyone I knew involved w/ yoga usually also battled some type of stronghold as well. Alcohol, drugs, eating disorder, OCD...illnesses etc,. Yoga opens the door to spirits that are NOT of the Lord! I was tolerant of yoga until I had an experience w/ the Holy Spirit.. I then received clear discernment about it and to encourage people to stay away from it.
Yoga/meditation is a beautiful thing for mind and body. Yoga has been there for 5000 years and even today modern science acknowledges its benefits. In 60s and 70s the hippie culture unfortunately gave it a bad name by associating it with drugs. In fact if you are doing drugs with yoga you will not get any benefits from it.
Yoga is against Christianity and it defies the teaching of Lord Jesus. Yoga, meditation and other Hindu techniques are expected to help you find union and divinity within yourself. You could strive towards becoming Jesus and be independent of any surrendering. There is no such thing called Christian Yoga or meditation and they are just business model to exploit vulnerable people. Practice Yoga and meditation by all means but not under Christianity and by its faith because there is a serous conflict between yoga and Christianity.

I have a friend who grew up Christian who is now into yoga, then got into breaking crystals and now goes to coal mines with her daughter to get crystals and now her daughter is into witches and is gay. I have been praying for this old friend but recently I had a vision of all the times I've preached on social media in the past , and I seen myself typing ,putting up parallels of what's happening now In our society compared to the scriptures in revelations and people were saying, your tripping and not taking it serious, then in a flash I seen this old friend I just mentioned And she was looking at the TV and it was chaotic all over the place, suddenly in her mind she thought of me, she went to my social media and my picture was up but I was gone. I was raptured up. A lot of peoples social media pages were up but they were gone, raptured up already. Truth is needed now.
Keep praying and ask God to removed the spiritual blindness from her mind n sent some people across her paths to tell her about Jesus. Dont judge her, just show her love and be kind to her.. Set 30 minutes a day to pray for her and watch what God will do.. Write it down when you starting praying for her.....Try to pray early in the morning before the sun rise . jut just make sure you pray for her. Ask GOD to give you words what to say to her... The bible say with loving in kindness have I drawn thee..don't give up on her .just pray bc God does hear and answer prayers you dont want to run her away from Jesus, you want to run her to Jesus...always tell her that Jesus loves her.... I think a lot of yoga teachers are getting bought by the church to talk against yoga. Today I saw another yoga teacher giving similar reasons.
Church is trying to supress yoga like the Romans tried to suppress Christains in the first 3 centuries.
Church is insecure. It wants people to have blind belief. Jesus wanted people to learn yoga, pranayama and meditation. Church wanted to establish its supremacy over the whole world. That's why the truth was hidden.
I follow Jesus not the church any more. Yoga, pranayama and meditation made me a better follower of Christ. I have more control over my mind and thoughts and Jesus wanted everyone to have more control over their thoughts. I have become more compassionate and loving, a better human being. What is Yoga?
The word yoga from the Sanskrit language means "connection". Yoga is the human endeavor to connect man with the Lord through body postures and breathing exercises.
Yoga is essentially considered by many to be an individual discipline, a way of life, a tool for self-improvement, a scientific art of maintaining physical and mental health, and a spiritual device. They say yoga is a good weapon to combat social challenges such as depression, stress, anxiety, workload, polluted food, environmental and media impacts.
Many of us think of yoga as a simple exercise that relaxes and tightens muscles. But it also focuses on the principles behind the gym.
Circa BC. Yamam in Yoga according to the Patanjali Yoga Sutra which originated in 150 years. There are a total of eight types of methods such as Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyakaram, Dharana, Meditation and Samadhi. But later in the 15th century katha yoga, which incorporated only two aspects of asana (a particular sitting position exercise) and pranayama (breathing exercises that inhale and exhale), became popular all over the world today, somewhat cleverly avoiding the philosophical logics that confront other religions.
Philosophical background of yoga:
Yoga is clearly against Christian philosophy. We learned that yoga is an attempt to connect man with God. There is a big difference between the two in their view of God.
According to the Hindu concept of thirty-three deities, all that is seen is God. It says that the Lord pervades everything in the cosmic average as a spiritual object without a dominion. But Christianity makes it clear that God is the one who created all the cosmic averages, including man, by His Word.
There is a difference between the two in the concept of manhood. The idea of yoga is that since all that is seen is God, man also attains the divine state through physical asanas and breathing exercises. It is as if Satan deceived Eve by saying, "You will be like the gods, knowing good and evil" (Gen. 3: 4). The Holy Bible is a creation created by God in his own image; Says that creation and creator cannot be one.
The idea of yoga is that man's inability to realize his superiority in the matter of his basic problem and its solution is the cause of all his problems and that he can achieve it by his own efforts. According to the Holy Scriptures man's sinful condition is the cause of all his problems; The blood of Jesus Christ removes all sin and cleanses him. It is a gracious gift from God; It is something that cannot be earned by effort. Yoga teaches one to focus on oneself instead of the true deity. It encourages him to seek his own conscience, preventing him from seeking Scriptural answers to life's difficult questions.
What's wrong with that?
That's right, yoga somehow benefits itself. Then what's wrong with that; It sounds to my ears that some people say that there is nothing wrong with just taking a yoga position and exercising, leaving out the philosophy behind it. That is unlikely to be right.
All forms of yoga are spiritual practices. Every yogasana position is the worship of Hindu deities. Physical asanas and exercises are inseparable from their spiritual involvement. In this regard, the journal Hinduism Today (April-June 2003) stated in its own words, “Separating Gautama Yoga from Hinduism is a deceptive act. Many yoga teachers do not know that its roots are in Hinduism and its spiritual purpose. ”
When diseases are cured by the grace of the true God, it is only by accepting that diseases can be cured by the power of evil forces. That is not surprising; Because Satan also disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14). So one cannot become a deity by eliminating disease. But, because our God is the true God, He bestows not only bodily pleasures, but a perfect divine bliss on the whole soul and body. So do not believe all spirits, but test whether those spirits are from God (1 John 4: 1).
How it does that job is very important. Is it driven by magical power contrary to Scripture? Then it will ultimately bring about slavery, not liberation. So you have to have the mindset to test everything before accepting anything. Only then can the good catch up. While it is not easy to clearly define what is good and what is bad in alternative therapies such as yoga, one must embrace the mantra of "abstain from all that appears to be evil". Everything that does not come by faith is sin (Romans 14:23). So it is better to stay away from dubious activities.
Christian Yoga?
In recent years a new form of Christian yoga has sprung up, combining physical and breathing exercises with biblical meditation. Christian yoga is basically a word paradox. Can we describe someone as a Christian Hindu or otherwise a Hindu Christian? Does it secrete bitter and bitter water from the same fountain? (James 3:11). A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit; Scripture clearly teaches that the bad tree will not bear good fruit (Matt. 7:18). So it is very important to consider the root cause of the tree of yoga.
Preach the Gospel… Heal the Sick This is the sequence of the command given to the twelve disciples (Matt. 10: 7,8). Spiritual well-being is far more important than caring for one's physical well-being. Because, physical effort is of little use; Godliness is of value to all, because it promises promise for this life and the life to come (1 Timothy 4: 8).
Let the scriptures be our meditation; Let prayer be our training:
Biblical meditation refers to thinking about and embracing the truths revealed in the Scriptures to what extent they are relevant to us. David's Meditation Song. 119 are clearly repeated throughout. All Scripture is inspired of God (2 Tim. 3:16) and we are certainly worthy of meditation.
God speaks to us through the Scriptures; We communicate with Him through prayer. We know that even in difficult circumstances, Daniel knelt in his attic three times a day, kneeling before his God in prayer and giving thanks. Prayer is the best exercise in taking our problems to the Lord and seeking a proper solution.
Like Paul, who concluded: “If food makes my brother stumble, I will not eat of my flesh forever, so that I may not cause my brother to stumble.” We will lead the way.
Therefore I beseech you, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. This is the kind of worship you can do (Rom. 12: 1).
Yes. Yoga is NOT based on blind belief monotheism followed by Abrahamic religions. Yoga is based on well validated Vedic metaphysics around which the whole hindu tradition was built. The reason why I practice bhakti yoga is that I can experience theory in my life and know it is true and it is logical and meaningful. I value truth, faith is not enough for me. I have tried to study christianity, but it does not make sense to me and it does not give me all the answers for my questions unlike teachings of vedas that is so complex and logical. So even If I wanted, I cannot be a Christian, sorry. Every Christian gives me different answers, there is so many christian denominations based on belief, not knowledge and truth. And I am a seeker of knowledge & truth, not just belief and sentiment.

Bhakti yoga offers crystallized conciousness which is a powerful tool, it can create what you want.. that's how devotees claim to see the deities they worship.. the most famous case in India is Ramakrishna Paramhansa (guru of Vivekananda) and his deity Kali, where she literally used to eat the food offered by ramakrishna, compelled by his devotion.. 🙏
I am an Indian Christian and I practice yoga every day. Yoga is basically an excercise for your body and mind. There was always some kind of meditation in each part of the world. Yoga helped the indian yogis to be calm and focus in their work. If you don't practice yoga or other similar meditations you alone are the loser. There are a lot of catholic nuns and priest who teaches yoga in their schools here. As an Indian Christian it is very disappointing to see people talking bad about yoga.

So thankful Jesus opened your eyes! I am a follower of Jesus. My doctor wanted me to try some easier poses of yoga for my health. I wasn't sure I should, but went ahead anyway. Very quickly, there were demonic manifestations. I repented to Jesus and renounced my involvement with yoga. I will never do it again. Christians (anyone!) who do yoga are playing with fire.

Actually the point is they are removing some practices from yoga and adding some Christian aspects to it which makes it bad
Means they are mixing with it, so it's their fault
