I'm sure there's endless reasons people do dumb shit with bad consequences even before they become a horror movie/game protagonist. You can see those traits in Sara the way she interacts with the world around her despite almost all the people around her basically telling her "It's late at night, you're in the sketchiest part of town with a killer on the loose targeting women, GO HOME." If she had any kind of sense, even before going to that 24 hour laundromat I'm sure she could've tried rescheduling her interview, going to a closer/safer laundromat first thing in the morning, or handwashing a set of clothes in her apartment and using the working dryer. I like the games feeling more like complete games. Also like how not everyone in them is an asshole, felt more like real people aside from the protag's absolute stupidity in going out knowing of a killer with an MO she's perfect for. But hey, slasher flicks love that shit.
This could have been avoided if Sara washed her clothes in either the bathtub or sink for her interview. And the code was for the safe in the Appliance store, you would have received a picture that would have provided more dialogue.
40:34 - "How am i supposed to get out of here..." I mean, you could just... Break the windows and leave? Then don't seem reinforced, and it's definitely better to get an early start than trying to stay in the same building as killer is. But eh, horror protagonist syndrome.
Nah man, that would be the OBVIOUSLY thing a real human would do when in that situation. In horror universe, they forgot windows exist until the writers put that in
Apart from the fact that Sara is really dumb, the voice acting is great and the characters are very interesting. Mostly Stan. Everyone needs a neighbor like Stan. We stan Stan
The true horror of this game is that it takes place in a universe where none of the people know that you can just wash your laundry by hand in the sink.

I gotta say, if a random woman going around asking questions to people in the area and looking around was able to crack a decade old cold case/serial murders then I gotta question if the police were even doing anything at all? Like how were they stumped by this lol
Just like real life. Cops are either very stupid when it comes to crime outside of their own clique, and very clever when it comes to covering up their own murders
One of my favorite things is seeing consistent creators works on a channel, and seeing ones like Puppet Combo and Charon as a staple on Manly's channel is nice to see
I kinda knew the killer was gonna be a woman who lost her child. I feel bad for her because of what happened to her and her child but at the same time I don't because what she did is disgusting.
The way these killeds always have the magical ability to remotely cut off power/lights, obviously teleport, can just survive 7 gunshot wounds to the head and pretty much anything obviously lethal and then just go "Oh its just a normal psychopath" is really just dumb. Give us a paranormal monster OR give us a realistic psycho killer. Stop these magical murderes, unless you actually make them in some way connected with the paranormal. Otherwise, very good game. Extraordinary voice action and nice ranchy graphics.
I agree, this game is just good but the main character and the killer just feels out of place. Like Sara is just fucking dumb in terms of her brain and the killer barely do anything that we'll "Pregnant women killer" would do. He barely killed anyone that IS a women in this game. And then there's the police who is just idiotic as Sara, seriously. The entire game could just end of the police knows how to even shoot his revolver and not just holding it without any ammo
While I personally think certain other Puppet Combo games, like Murder House and Nun Massacre, are better at the sheer horror aspect of things, I really like how the majority of this game is optional exposition that allows the player to learn more about the world and the mystery of the Womb Ripper while having unique, interesting conversations with NPCs. Pretty neat stuff
This game has some legit good voice acting and is pretty entertaining overall. Puppet Combo seems to be improving as a game dev company while still keeping to its niche.
I think it relied too much on jumpscares, i like how the killers body shape did kind of look feminine a bit. But the twist jumpscare ending just feels bs
12:00 Well Manly, when taking the rest of her life into account, a crazy man on the bus is probably just another day for her. A normal person wouldn't have stayed on the bus with that scummy driver.
The fact the guy knew she was pregnant (and it's implied she isn't that far along) might make this crazy guy a bit more creepy than what she's used to.
Fuck, that's probably puppet combo's best game yet. Nice atmosphere, tension building, lack of stupid annoyingly loud screeching sounds, final battle, protag surviving, great music
Ehhh I wouldn't be TOO sure about the body being identified until work on the body itself is done. You can identify the ID, but the ID doesn't necessarily identify the body. If you consider the final chase to be more than just the part with the gun, it can work. Ending quickly once the protag gets a big advantage isn't bad, you just have to make sure the last confrontation doesn't start with the advantage.
The junkie was such a good foreshadowing of it, I realized it when the dude in the laundromat told us about the one that burnt down next door. The junkie in the beginning was talking about how "it" was gone, and that "the people in the walls took it". This is obviously in reference to the fact that Samantha was living in the walls of the laundromat taking people's babies. Really well done there.
I know, horror and stuff, but oh man, he's right there, he's now stabbing the guy, he's now cutting the guy's neck, HE'S NOW JUST RIGHT THERE IN THE OPEN, just don't give me a gun if I can't blast the murder man standing there asking to get blown away lol
10/10 jumpscare on the bus. Can confirm that this happens to me at least once a week as a bus commuter. Most of the time the creepy guy also has bonus awful odor as the stereotype goes.
40:38 this makes literally no sense its implied that she was in the office which has a front row seat to the front door. This game was cool but it seems to devolve into impossible by human actions pseudo supernatural bs

The player character has the worst case of "dumb horror protagonist" I've ever seen in a while.🤣 That said, I gotta say this isn't one of my favored Puppet Combo games. Can't put my finger on it, since the animations are great and the voice acting has also improved, but i think the concept and scares felt a bit lacking.
I like how the character’s a girl and her apartment is trashed. lol. Just like mine. And, hey, I’ve desperately needed washing done and my building’s washer as broken for MONTHS and had to brave the laundromat during at creepy times at night lol. Gotta do what you gotta do!
It's small and kinda dumb, but hearing you sing "telephone number" made me smile. I felt this giddy surge of pride since it reminded me that my fellow asians are out there living our best lives while being visibly and unashamedly asian. keep doing you
Okay, I will be that guy that's not fun at parties: I like the atmosphere of this game, even though you couldn't do anything that important during the washing (besides collecting clues). But then the last third of the game comes around and is a rollercoaster of "hilarious insanity, in a bad way". Also, "Womb Killer" ? More like "Peen Killer" from what was shown. And then it goes supernatural ??!
Now, now, hear me out, what if, and I know this might be crazy, you wash the clothes you need for tomorrow in the sink and dry them in the working dryer. "Unlocked the; of fucking course ending"
This whole game reminds me of a classmate of mine (who’s story I’m allowed to share). She was in a similar situation to Sara’s: boyfriend who was abusive while drunk, and dismissive while sober. She didn’t have a laundry set, so every Saturday, she went to a local laundromat. While she waited, she crocheted. Another lady was always there on Saturdays; a young lass, who went to a nearby college, whose (not actual) name was Beth, Bets for short, since she loved playing cards. Pregnant, a grave-shift worker, and sweet as can be. The two began to talk, my friend even making a baby blanket for Bets. When Bets found out about my friend’s situation, she actually began to stash money for her, to help her get out. When my friend found out, she was obviously touched, and… it’s almost like a classic love story, the two fell head over heels for one another. One night, my friend packed her bags, stashing them in her laundry. The two met up, and drove off, never to hear from the boyfriend again. They’re still together, and have two kids: a baby girl named Jenny, and a young boy named Ace. They’re both hella smart, my friend even making a little dinosaur plush for my nephew called Wrecks, since the plush had little tank treads for feet. They’re absolute legends, I still talk to em two years later, after we met in a sociology course (me and my friend, not me and Bets. I met Bets through my friend).

That is the happiest ending yet of a “Puppet Combo” game. It’s going for the stereotypical slasher ending, sure, but hey it’s unambiguous what happens to Sara and her loser boyfriend is still alive, not like the ambiguous ending in “Murder House”. I just hope she skips town after that shit.
How was Murder House's ending ambiguous? It pretty clearly ended with the Easter Killer dying and the protagonist escaping.
@@deen7530 I mean, what was that light that appeared in the end, and what was with zombies? Of course, thanks to the extended ending showing that it was all a movie, that ending can be explained as just a weird ending that happens in some movies. Although, that doesn’t explain what was in the car with the protagonist; is it just the costume or was there someone really in her trunk?

I suppose she could've also been planning to splurge on a cab the way back or that was the last bus going to that part of town but not necessarily the only bus coming back.

I like the games feeling more like complete games. Also like how not everyone in them is an asshole, felt more like real people aside from the protag's absolute stupidity in going out knowing of a killer with an MO she's perfect for. But hey, slasher flicks love that shit.
This one was only Published by Puppet Combo that's why it is so different
This could have been avoided if Sara washed her clothes in either the bathtub or sink for her interview. And the code was for the safe in the Appliance store, you would have received a picture that would have provided more dialogue.
I dont get why the cops in these game always come by themselves

But eh, horror protagonist syndrome.
Nah man, that would be the OBVIOUSLY thing a real human would do when in that situation. In horror universe, they forgot windows exist until the writers put that in

Your right on the money my guy

Did it? I mean, it spent a good long while doing a build up.
See this is why I don’t do laundry! Take this, mom!
Also he said "Oh God, she's here now" right before you went outside and saw what we know now was her car.
Manly that Telephone Number reference made me happy. I am glad more and more people know Japanese city pop
Man they sent the officer with the slowest draw to the scene as usual
Man that Sin Eater Comic Looks real interesting, I’d read and collect it.
I feel like after the 10th person telling her she was going to die, oh I don’t know she would’ve just gone home
"devolve into impossible by human actions pseudo supernatural bs"
Sooooo.....your average old slasher film, then.
I like the buildup at the start, with the hard timer created by the washing machine. A huge amount of nice side characters for such a small game too.
Don't know how that explains Samantha having superhuman strength though, nor why the old laundromat is HUGE.

Stan's a good man. Jo seems nice too but jumpy.

"a game presented by puppet combo" ah shit, here we go again.
33:21 Ahh, that gave the twist away. The girl you're playing as died in the fire/was murdered in the fire.
I hate that the basement in Sara's building looks exactly like the basement where the laundry was in my old building
What was the safe code for tho? I kinda wish the game told us what happened afterwards with Sara and the other characters.
I like just listening to manly’s voice it’s so soothing to hear while watching a horror game.
That’s awesome
You missed a whole store in the game and it was killing me...the appliances store next to the pizza place :(
