    OMG, it's so frustrating how people keep missing the point of this palette. Let me explain, for the regular makeup consumer this is a pretty steep price and can totally see why people would be turned off by it.
    However, for a makeup artist, this is an investment so for their kit. It's a reliable palette with a wide arrange of neutrals. It is highly pigmented (meaning on swipe of the finger over this palette w/o primer will still show up even on deep skin) so you use less of it at a time. The packaging is sturdy and practical as opposed to being an aesthetic showcase.
    You spend $80 now so you can avoid wasting money on other products that don't hold up as well or produce reliable results.
    That's the point of this palette.

      Exactly!! Compare this to the overhyped & overpriced huda beauty, abh and JSC palettes it will be more than fair! The colors are great super pigmented and well chosen

    I have the Viseart dark matte palette. I took the opportunity to get it during the VIB Rouge sale. You're absolutely correct, nobody *needs* and $80 eyeshadow palette, but then again, nobody *needs* makeup at all. Makeup is a fashion accessory that we use to make ourselves feel better. I agree that the quality on these is top-notch. I also did the comparison on the amount of product that you get for the price and they are comparable to other high-end shadow palettes. It's a splurge for most people, but then, so is any high-end makeup. I choose to pay for quality, because what is the point in buying numerous makeup items that are cheaper if you're not going to be happy with them? I'm not saying that cheaper products are necessarily inferior at all...I use plenty of drugstore makeup, but I'm not going to use a product just because it costs less if it doesn't work for me.

      +Hilda Perez I'm glad you're liking them! I'm really wondering about the neutral mattes. I'd love to know specifically how it compares to KVD Shade & Light eye palette if anyone knows! :D

      @kellyturnerphotography 8 лет назад +4

      +emilynoel83 I have both, and I have been reaching for the Viseart over the KVD. Nothing blends like these shadows do. Don't get me wrong I still like my KVD palette, but I adore my Viseart palette ☺️

    • @hildabyui
      @hildabyui 8 лет назад +5

      +emilynoel83 I had the KvD palette and returned it. The center section was too cool toned for me. The color selection for the KvD and Viseart are essentially the same. However the Viseart greys have a warmer undertone thereby they work better for me. I can get a great smoky eye with those grays.I use the neutral palette for contour as well. The dark mattes I am using the brick colors as blush. I found that I can use the dark mattes with no primer and it gives a lovely diffused eye look. Add eye primer and I get the dramatic looks I love.

      I just got Neutral Mattes and Paris Nudes yesterday. I only played with them a little bit, but I already prefer them to the KVD palette. They just blend SO EASILY on my hooded, almost crepey eyelids, and don't skip at all. They really amazed me, and I didn't expect that. I am bad at blending, and these look really good pretty quickly.

    I have the Viseart Neutral Mattes & the Editorial Brights palettes and I'm just so amazed every time I use them. I looked at the brights palette and at my age I'd almost never wear those super bright shades... BUT... what I do is mix them. They mix amazingly well. As an eg...I take my brush and put it in the white first & then dip in straight into the purple and then apply to the eye. And omg the beautiful soft shades you get are amazing. Love love love. Dark Mattes will be my next addition to my collection.

  • @perfumaphilia3246
    @perfumaphilia3246 6 лет назад +19

    Honestly, I'm not wealthy and I'm not a makeup collector. I only own, like two high end eyeshadow palettes. The Viseart Neutral palette is one of the best makeup purchases I've ever made and if I ever lost it, I'd just use the makeup I have and save up to buy another one. For that quality and versatility, it's absolutely worth the money. When you break it down per eyeshadow, it's actually not expensive. I recently spent $26 on a single Bobbi Brown eyeshadow because I thought I needed that color. As it turns out, there is a nearly identical color in the Viseart Neutral palette. The pigmentation on the Bobbi Brown one is complete shit, and next to the comparable Viseart color, it's a joke. Don't waste your time, just take the Viseart plunge. They've set a new precedent.

  • @5062001
    @5062001 8 лет назад +51

    Yes $80 seems like a lot but if you think about it this way... If you were to purchase say 12 makeup geek shadows that would be $72 and then you would have to buy a z palette so it would be cheaper going with one of the Viseart palettes. I got the neutral matte one during the VIB sale and I love it.

      +Kerri walsh I have been contemplating getting MUG shadows and the Z palette vs Viseart. The only huge advantage with MUG is that you can create your own palette. There are always at least a few colours from every palette I own that I never end up using. So, I will go for the MUG shadows.

      Great point, although, I think if they would have slapped a well known brand name on this people would have been falling over each other to nab them more...or at least would not complain about the price so much. Heck they could have painted the plastic gold and slapped a small mirror and people would have been happier...but that is not who they are. Since they are designed for artists in mind ;)

      +DonutCare I totally agree and Emily pointed that out,this is a professional makeup brand so their focus is on the product you don't see RCMA foundation palettes with fancy packaging just amazing product with functional packaging for the working makeup artist but RUclips has changed how people view makeup,and have also brought professional items to the general public but yeah if you even labeled one of these limited edition they'd be snapped up,NOONE bitches about a $50 Bobbi Brown highlight and its 1 product

  • @elalir26
    @elalir26 8 лет назад +17

    I have the Dark Mattes palette, and I agree that more indigo blue is definitely different in texture than the rest of the palette. Also, each shadow is $6.68 when broken down, which is cheaper than some drugstore shadows, and the Viseart ones have better quality overall. They're definitely worth the $80 price tag and, IMO, better than Urban Decay, Tarte, and MUFE shadows (not that I don't love those).
    I think it comes down to do you want to spend your money on pretty packaging or actual shadow quality?

  • @LindaPatch1
    @LindaPatch1 7 лет назад +8

    A few months ago I got the Viseart Matte, Bold Matte, and Sultry Muse. There is NO going back. Holy gorgeous what I can do in just a few swipes. The blending is amazing, the color combos are endless. I have not picked up another eyeshadow I own since getting these, and can't see why I would. In the long run, they'll save me significant $ as I have no desire for the next shiny object, and the amount you get in these palettes will last you a very long time. Well worth it if you calculate the value.

    Hi Emily: thank you for this honest review. Your statement is correct as these palettes (as well as their other products) are primarily used by pro makeup artists. I totally agree with your assessment of these palettes. I first bought the neutral matte palette a year ago, and I remember swatching them and thinking "these are pretty nice!". Then I forgot about the swatches on my arm and started doing chores around the house and went out to run some errands. When I handed my money to the check-out person at the grocery store, I glanced at my arm and saw the swatches again, and they were super pigmented and beautiful, even several hours later! That's when I realized they were really special. I noticed that I kept reaching for the palette every day to compliment my other shadows. I've since then picked up two more palettes: sultry muse and cool mattes. I love all of them! I highly recommend waiting for a Sephora VIB sale, because the 20% off helps. I couldn't recommend them more!

    Hi girls - when i was getting my makeup artist certification in NYC i was introduced to Viseart palettes. They had the old packaging which was not as cute & honestly looked cheap but all it took was one swatch and i was HOOKED. They are pigmented, blend like a dream and stay on all day primer or not. So happy these are more accessible now and yes they are pricey but they will become a staple palette for you and you get a ton of product. Try the cool mattes palette, there are a ton of warm neutral palettes in the market so it will be different and special. Go Viseart!

    The two palettes that you mentioned are the two that I am missing in my collection. I have all the other Viseart palettes offered at Sephora and I lOVE THEM. I have put a stop to my makeup purchasing until I have put a dent in them and start hitting pan on them, but if I cheat and buy one more palette, it will be the dark mattes one from Viseart. The reason is that I have lots and lots of shimmer shadows. The dark mattes for me is a palette that I would go to every day for my outer corner color.

      Nope they don't muddy up. They stay true to color. I know exactly what you mean. I bought the IT pretty pallet when it first came out and returned it for this exact reason. The colors in that pallet just all ran together. The matters pallets from Viseart stay true in color even on deep skin tones. I'm Nw45 or so and they work wonderfully for me.

    I bought the neutral matte, cool matte and bridal satin during the VIB Sephora sale. I have absolutely no regrets. I like the simple packaging, reminds me of a small z palette. I use the bridal satin mostly for all over lid shades and then use one of the neutral mattes for the crease and outer V. They are so buttery soft and the colors are so easy to blend. They make application a breeze and even with my oily lids, they do not crease and the colors are long lasting. I almost bought the dark mattes but decided to keep it at these three for now. I still want to get the sultry muse and dark mattes eventually. I love these shadows and have not used any of my other palettes since I got these. Well worth the $$, especially if you hate to blend and blend and blend. These shadows blend well effortlessly

    I bought my first one during the Sephora VIB sale.. Paris nudes. It's lovely. Absolutely perfect for someone who likes a daytime smokey eye, but there is a darker neutral brown and a couple of light shades as well for options. I think you did a great job of describing the texture, I was commenting to a friend and said "they just melt onto the eye". No fallout, patchiness, skipping, and they look exactly the same at the end of the day. Every color is the same quality, not a dud in the bunch, and they are all beautiful muted colors and extremely wearable. As for cost they work out to $6.66 each at full price.

  • @jilliansmith8080
    @jilliansmith8080 8 лет назад +3

    I love these!! Well I have both neutral and dark matte color... They are by far the best shadows next to MUFE. They are amazing for travel. 80/12 $6.66 per full size shadow . And you don't have to put them in a chunky z palette. Not that I don't like the z palette but 4 of these would be less space! They are big upfront costs and it's easier to buy one single shadow then buying entire pallet at one time. That's completely understandable. If you're able to get a hold of One more of these palettes that's fantastic, if not don't worry about it. Its not that big of a deal . Although I'm absolutely crazy about them they are not necessity .

    I have been following you for awhile and tonight when I searched "Viseart Matte" You popped up, Yay! 😊 I have been drooling over the Viseart Grand Pro Vol 1 for a few months now but I haven't clicked yet, hehe. At 56 yo I tend to like more mattes. I loved your look with the Sultry Muse Palette, I may have to add that one to my wish list! Gorgeous! 😍

    I have the Dark Mattes and I am obsessed. I do think the one blue shade is kind of gritty and has a different texture, but the two blues are the only shades I don't use in the palette. I have been using it obsessively since I got it... I usually use about 4 of the colors to make warm, smoky looks. It is beyond versatile for my skin tone (NC35-40).

    I own the Dark Matte palette and I really like it! I might be alone, but I love the packaging. It's simple, sleek, and lets the quality of the products speak for themselves. I just don't think a good product needs a flashy palette design. The Dark Mattes definitely work best for me when used in conjunction with another palette, but it's still a great buy. I'm going to get the Neutral Matte palette soon and I can't wait.

    I consider myself makeup obsessed as well..and as much as I would have wanted viseaet palettes, I likely would have never shelled out the $80 for one UNTIL I recently recieved the matte nudes palette in my boxy charm and WOW....I was blown away like never before! I own a lot of the typical "higher end" palettes but this is beyond that...this is like luxury. I would say DEFINITELY worth the $80 and now I'm obsessed to the point where I only want viseart palettes and will throw away all my others! Viseart has opened the door to next level eyeshadows.

    Next the Dark matters: Emily you are spot on in your review. The blue does have a different texture BUT the quality is the same. And finally I have purples that actually show up, not choppy, skipping, etc. Apparently it's hard to make a great purple, well they got them right. I plan on trying some as blush also, so I'm really getting my monies out. I am tempted to get the sultry because I feel with that one I will be complete and can do hundreds of looks if you don't want to not go all matte. You can also mix the colors, for example use the lightest color from the neutral as a base and use a darker pallet to make a lighter shade. I see why makeup artist use them. I got the VIP rouge coupon from Sephora for 25 off 50and so tempted to get sultry. Can you tell i love them! For you more mature ladies or deeper skin tones that have trouble with colors not being true or skipping you will be in love. The shadows just look expensive too. Finally I've heard Viseart is releasing some new pallets, I can't wait. Thanks Emily for telling us about these. You are awesome!

    I do plan and splurge and get a few of these palettes. I've been a makeup enthusiast for years. While I still love my affordable shadows, there's just a greater appreciation for higher quality. I've noticed that more often than not, I gravitate to high end products. I want high quality, extended wear and amazing output with the looks I create.

    i own all but Pearl Brights 02 (but when they re-release it i'm going to get it!) I LOVE THEM ALL!I use them on my clients and they look great on EVERY SKIN COLOR and like you said, EVERY AGE!! ahhh so excited this brand is getting recognition.
    also...almost everyone is crazy over makeup geek (for good reason) and say that they're great quality and so cheap at $6 per shadow, but if you sit down and do the math, viseart is less then a dollar more per shadow. if you wait for a sale, viseart is cheaper then makeup geek. :)
    awesome video!

    Emily, I could not agree with you more...!!! This is the BEST review I've seen on these shadows... I own the Matte Neutrals and the Bridal Satin palettes...and I am eventually going to purchase the Cool Matte, Paris Nude and Sultry Muse palettes. I have been gaga over makeup for almost 50 years...and for me these are the BEST shadows I've ever used...!!! I also believe that the price is very fair for what you are actually getting...!!! I know for a fact that had these shadows come into my life a long time ago, I would not own nearly as many eye shadow palettes. I have been searching for the "perfect" eye shadow for years...and I think the Viseart shadows come as close to perfect as any shadows ever will. I do own many great shadows...high end and drug store...but NONE, at least for me, compare to the quality of these shadows...!!! xoxo Wanda :D

    Great review. I agree $80 is pricy for an eyeshadow palette but from what I see, you do get a lof of eyeshadow in them .84oz. AND the quality does look AMAZING!!! When you price each eyeshadow individually it comes to $6.70ish for each, which is EXTREMELY affordable. I buy high end and drugstore makeup and when I'm at the drugstore I'm amazed at how things can get pricy for an eyeshadow for example. A L'Oreal Infalible Eyeshadow is $7-8. So as you said these palettes may not be for everyones budgets but I can see me purchasing these in the future.

    I got the mattes pallet neutral and warm during the VIB sale and let me tell you they are worth the price. They are like no other pallets I've ever owned. First neutral: I was on the fence about this one too because I own so many neutral pallets....they don't compare at all, the quality y is phenomenal. They blend so well and are so pigmented. I'm a bit older so my eyelids have a few wrinkles and I always struggled with a nice even blend especially in the crease, not anymore. I use the brown for my eyebrows AND the black is great as a eyeliner because I like the soft smudged look. Add a bit of fix plus and it's great as a regular liner also. Is 80 a lot yes BUT urban decay, Kat Von D and all the others are 60 or close to it , so for 20 more you get a lot of product, wearable colors and GREAT quality. Everyone keeps comparing it to the Sonja K one. There really is no comparison except for the colors. During the sale they were 64 so same price as others but superior quality. I have the Kat V D shade and light also and love this one more because of the quality.

    I bought the bridal satin palette. I'll admit I wouldn't normally gravitate towards to colors in this palette, but I bought it to try out some makeup looks for my wedding. Since it had the name bridal, I figured there must be something special about it (at least that's what I told myself to justify the price tag). I wasn't disappointed. The palette and colors are so amazingly pigmented. They're rich and buttery. I'm in love with everything about it. I'm sure I'll be adding more of the palettes to my collection in the future.

    Great review. The first time I heard about this palettes was Killercolours make up review/swatches on the neutrals palettes and I really trust her opinion on makeup products. Recently I read how more people rave about viseart in general and I think it's worth the price. One day when I'm actually be able to afford a pricy palette I'm totally going to buy it!(Actually I think the price seems reasonable for the quality. Some palettes have so little amount of eyeshadow in it you literally feel like you pay more for the packaging than the quality). For everyone comparing those eyeshadow palette packaging to drugstore brands, try to think about the target of these palettes. It's not about fragile pretty packaging but more for MUAs,professionals. I really need to finish some of my palettes and invest in a viseart palette.

    Great review. I own the Viseart neutral matte palette and I'm in love with it. There is a lot of matte palettes out there that are cheaper than these, but the quality of this product is outstanding. I can use these mattes and not worry that I need to blend the colors a lot to get the look I want. Buttery smooth and super easy to blend. They preform great. Now I want to try that muse palette.

    My favorites are the bridal and matte neutral palettes. I have swatch video on the ones I own. I just adore the formulation. i think everyone should own one or two of their palettes. They keep the mattes and the shimmers separate because they don't want matte looks to have any sparkle contamination. Just gorgeous.

    I got the neutral matte palette during the Sephora sale and use it almost everyday. That is saying something because I have a pretty big collection so lots from which to choose. One of the things I love about these shadows is the ability to combine shades to create the exact color you want, really feeds the creative side of doing makeup. That said I think I might spring for the cool mattes palette next, then one with satin/shimmer finish. I do wonder though if I end up with all that I want from this line if I will ever go back to using all the other shadows I have. 😉
    Thanks again for a great review!

    Viseart is a pro brand and they are highly pigmented. What's great about them is that the colors are true to the pan and even in photography. The configuration of their palettes I think are more geared towards makeup artists like their neutral matte works in conjunction with their sultry muse or paris nudes, etc.

    I own the neutral matte, dark matte, sultry muse and bridal satin. They are 100000000% worth the money. I have dry eyelids and these are the only mattes I've ever owned that blend and don't look patchy. I use one of the matte pallets every single day for transition shades or brow bone highlights. And the shimmers and satins are so sophisticated and creamy. No chunks of glitter. I can wear them without looking like a teenager. These do go on sale occasionally at Frends or Muse Beauty, so wait for that and snatch these up next time they are on sale. You won't regret it!!!

    Emily you would love the Bridal palette the purples in there are to die for....the palettes are 80$ but if you bought 12 makeup geek eyeshadows plus a Z palette you would be paying close to the same and that brand people always label as affordable "drugstore" priced makeup.

      I love how single eye shadows at a drugstore can be up to $12. horrible deal. and then they have $10-20 palettes where most of the shadows are chalky or you have to wet them to even get decent pigmentation. i never buy them because I prefer to spend $30-60 on a palette that has 9+ eye shadows with better quality. I don't think I'll be purchasing the $80 palette anytime soon but I would consider it

    Because of the price, I reluctantly purchased the Bridal Satin pallet during the VIB sale. I'm a skeptic; I was hoping not to like them so I could get my money back ;) But they were the nicest shadows I've ever used. They actually performed the way I expected them to. I didn't have to tweek my look or make adjustments along the way because a shadow wouldn't blend or was too sheer. So yes, I am a fan, and as long as I can get a palette at a discount, I'll be buying more!

    Great review! I got the Warm Mattes palette from Viseart during the Sephora VIB sale. I've only used it a few times so far, but I do really like it! I'm considering getting the Dark Mattes palette, too. I agree about how the colors really translate to the eyelid and look exactly the same as they do in the pan! The formula doesn't feel as soft or creamy to me as, say, Lorac shadows; they're more along the lines of MAC in terms of how they feel, but I like them better.
