How To Delete 'Other' Files From Any Mac

- You can free up a lot of space on your Mac by deleting the Other Folder on your hard drive.
There are two applications that can help you free up space on your hard drive and show you the other folder of your Mac.
Both applications will organize your hard drive into different sections such as application, cache, systems, and so on. It will also show you the storage taken up by each section and help you figure out what is taking up the most space and what will clear the most amount of hard drive space.

Aw maaaaannnn‼️ Your a lifesaver lol. I been trying to figure out how can I delete files in the “other” section on my MacBook Pro for about 2 weeks and just stumbled across your video. I couldn’t update my computer or nothing because of the space issues. It was about 150 GB in that section. The only issue I had was after installing Omni & deleting the files from the “others” section I didn’t know I had to delete it out of the trash as well so at first I thought it didn’t work lol. Hi, my system storage is so big because of failed-downloaded OS Big Sur. I failed many times in downloading the new OS Big Sur because of my poor connection and now it took much space (my sistem storage is at 60 gbs now). There's actually no problem with my storage since I have about 100 gbs storage free left but the failure is eating up my storage. I tried to download it 3 times and it took about in total 13 gbs.
Please help, how should I delete or locate this failed-downloaded files.

there is something weird going on either with this app or with my 2019 mac.
My mac says that I've used 115G out of 250, where around 74G is OTHER
While the omnisweeper can only see around 80g of used storage in total.

Hi thank you very much for your video, nicely presented. I tried to use OmniDisk Sweeper in Big Mac OS and it does not show all folders/files (out 450 GB used only shows 190 gb in the folder "user"). Can OmniDisk Sweeper be used on BigSur Mac OS?
I'm following your steps but when I run the Omni it only shows a smaller percentage of what my storage is actually showing. Also I cannot find the files of "other" when I use Omni?

Hello I typically don't leave comments but on videos like this I'd like to leave one for future people skeptical of lots of different apps, so for the clean my mac x I wouldn't use it cause I was able to delete one thing then it would make me pay so fair warning there, but towards the second application you showed which is free it worked great

Thanks, but the problem with CleanMyMacX is if you going to delete something on another folder, you need subscription. So I preferred using the Omni Disk Sweeper.

Disk Utility X is freeware that also shows you things like Omni Disk Sweeper but its got a bit more of a visual element to it. I've used it for probably 5 years to manage my storage on my 2013 mac air.

Oh god! Thank you so much!! My MacBook air only has 128Gb of storage capacity and turns out 'other' storage was taking up 55Gb!! I just couldn't find the heavy hitter file! Turns out Telegram media file was consuming about 48 freking GB's!!! Thanks for recommending the omni disk sweep, I've freed significant amount of space!!!

You have to update it to sierra or higher I just found that out today when browsing my download folder and I saw download mac sierra.
