I feel like nowadays I rewatch more old content from channels I watched religiously more than new content. There was something magical about the youtube space up until 2017/18 that just hasn't been the same since.
Ssohpkc was the first creator i religously watched. From Dark Souls, to CoD, to Pokemon, i watched it all. I'll forever miss the fabio of gaming. The Creatures back in 2013 got me through my last and roughest year of highschool. I'm 28 now and i still remember how i felt back then watching their content. Cheers on being a fellow fan to one of the greatest youtube groups.
I can't really connect on The Creatures specifically, but Machinima Respawn was a hugely influential era for me. Watching the whole scene form from nothing, soar, then splinter into the current shell of itself it is today has been... something.
I remember back in 2008 searching for cod 4 tips and finding that first blame truth video opened an entire portal to another world ever couple of years I'd still go back and check on some of those old cod channels to see what those guys are up to. Still can't believe that was 16 years ago.
for me, the faze trickshot era was the time i loved youtube the most. It influenced my music tastes, the games i played, and more. Great times. Loving the essays!
I loved the New York era of the FaZe House. That was really the only time i watched them BO2 era. It's truly was peak COD content. What a time to be alive.
Great video, I’m so nostalgic for that time it’s hard to put into words. Sometimes I’ll revisit those classic games and eras but salute to you for making such a good video out of it
Even tho I loved the 2010 to 2015 era of RUclips, it was something else from 2016 to 2020. I went from watching big stars like SeaNanners, GameGrumps, Markiplier, PewDiePie, and Tobuscus, to more group collaborative channels that came later like SuperMega and OneyPlays. All hilarious and high quality in their own rights. But it was super interesting learning about some these other RUclips groups and people I've never heard of, or knew little about! Awesome to get a detailed video about some of these guys, great work Buggy :^7
Man I watched woodysgamertag and wingsofredmption from their inception to I’d say a year or two ago when I realized the PKA show or PainkillerAlready was for about 30 episodes getting worse and saying the same things for hours straight and they were 4 hours long. Loved those boys but you could see through the facade. Don’t get me started on the wings guy but I hope he’s still ok. One day I may go back but Jesus could they at least try.
2009 - 2011 was xjaws and wings, then Ali-a, Fearcrads and whiteboy7thst were my favourites 2012 - 2014. Everyday after school, even met ali-a at an event in birmingham when i was 16. great times, and im glad i was part of the early days of independent online content
Growing up i watched GhostRobo, he was my go-to for Let's Plays/Walkthroughs, after him i learnt about PewDiePie and VanossGaming, watched Vanoss more than Pewds. After a while i become "annoyed" with GhostRobos commentary so i found....theRadBrad and have not stopped watching him since! Nowadays a lot of RUclipsrs feel "same-y" so nowadays i find myself watching only Vanoss, Brad, and DevilDogGamer. Yes i still enjoy my go-to RUclipsrs, I still do miss old RUclips, so many unique videos, genuinely fun times, the excitement i felt after school everyday. Now it's all background noise
Also my childhood was kinda shit but halo singlehandedly kept it alive for me. Not just the game, but the ppl and frends i made from those games made me into a whole other person i didnt get to be in school or whatever. Wish it lasted tho lol, but im glad i got to experience this short stunt
I have to delete my post and re-comment. I appreciate the heart, but my previous one was supposed to be for this video: ruclips.net/video/evwgwkgikbI/видео.html. I apologize for the mistake. So here's my actual comment for your video. I got into RUclips when epic fail compilation videos were booming during the golden age of RUclips. Other content I watched were RUclips poops, music, and gameplays. Sometimes I would find people just recording themselves for nothing. I don't remember much since I was restrained until I turned a teenager. This was when content creation innovated around the early to mid-2010s. This was back when RUclipsrs had genuine collaboration rather than do it for more attention and money. I used to see Jacksfilm's collaboration with Toby Turner and more. Content back then were much more organic compared to what have now. Sadly some of these videos are now being deleted like Filthy Frank which I missed out on during its heyday. Whenever I found old videos uploaded during the mid-2000s, I immediately saved them on a playlist. It sucks that those days are over, but at least we were all there to enjoy it.
Back then RUclips's gaming side was all about fun Let's Play personalities and dumb in-game skits with voiceovers. I really miss Uberhaxornova when he was a RUclipsr and all the Halo 3 machinimas the most. I kinda wish he didn't join The Creatures and just kept doing his own thing like Markiplier.
Small RUclipsrs/Content Creators like you are the closest we’ll get to the OG RUclips feel. Big Content Creators just come off as fake or shills.
Took the words right out of my brain

Agreed! I follow only a handful of new creators these days.
I miss the Machinima age of RUclips in the 2009 era when people used Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops to make parody skits!
I used to like Machinima so much I would make my own parodies and skits, good old days!
These were the golden days! Never forgotten brother.

That era was truly unmatched.

Well done on this. Took me back to a simpler time.
Enjoying this new format!
Came across this on my homepage, great video! I too had very similar experiences to this. 😀

The creatures were my entire middle school years
