The flexing is kind of good though its absorbing a lot of recoil instead of going right into the shooters shoulder, but at the same time thats a big piss for controllability.
@Snake Eyes The walls of an AK barrel are pretty thin. Especially when you're talking about 7.62x39. Combine that with the violent, long stroke gas system of the AK and the barrel is going to whip. This one looks like it's getting a lot of gas too so that is going to exacerbate it even more.

Yes, everything is simple, he was in Russia and we showed how to properly shoot from an AK ... It's good that you don't know how to shoot from the Kord machine gun, from the hands ...
A person on the history Channel said when you hear that you know you have 30 rounds of rock and roll. And it's true. If you need to grab a weapon to start blasting it's a good sound to hear.
Using an ak is like loving old trucks Kinda wanders down the road, don't stop to good. But it starts and drives every damn time you need it. Good to see you playin' Larry
Larry, you legend. Thank you so much for showing this to us. Will you consider to have our friend Ian at Forgotten Weapons to do a history video on this Eastern German art work? Hopefully we have enough likes on this comment, to make it happen. :) Greetings from Australia
One of the few guys that gets the nomenclature right instead of calling every variant an "AK 47". If you happen to read this, I did 8yrs AD as an 11B starting at Bragg, 19 in VTARNG and worked at Century a couple years. Hope you enjoyed your trip to VT! Salute.
The slow-mo wobbling wet noodle that is a sustained full auto AK being ridden by jelly-man Larry never gets old. He is a freakishly talented purveyor of the full auto shuffle. He just rides it .... whereas most others would just get bounced and ground off target.
As always we really enjoy seeing you online. Whatever the weapon, you always do a super job of presenting it. Looking forward to the next one. Take care sir.
Can’t wait to see a video on your East German MPi AKS-74. Would love to hear about what Century has hidden away in their bonded warehouse! Any importer that has been in the game long enough has stuff they forgot about laying around in bonded warehouses.
Couldn't have come at a worse time, been collecting MPi parts over the last few months and I'm watching some high dollar parts on some auction sites...
Iraq was lousy with these back in '05-06. I had an issued East German Side folder from my company. I bought another side folder and one of these from one of my locals for 3 Bennies a pop, both still in the Cosmo. Broke my heart to leave them there.
That flange on the end of the muzzle really does make a difference acting like a muzzle brake. The barrel flexes downward while the receiver flexes upward due to the motion of the bolt carrier. A precursor to counterbalancing AK assault rifles. Amazing gun and very rare piece of German and Russian engineering.
Great timing. Mark Felton Productions comes out with a video about former Wehermacht generals joining the NVA (Not the North Vietnamese Army, Nationale VolksArmee in East Germany) and Larry vickers coming out with a East German AK. We are truly spoiled.
My Dad was in the II Corp Mike Force in ‘68. A team went out on an ambush and ended up ambushing a fairly small element. Upon checking the bodies discovered it was an NVA Docter, a couple of nurses and their security. The reason I bring it up was the Doctor was carrying an East German AK and to everyone who saw it , said it was the nicest AK they’d ever seen , ever !
Nice to see that east german ak. My father and my uncles served in the east german army with this rifle. Nice to see that in action. It were very interesting to see an original Wieger stg 940 or some of its variants and what you thinking about that. You have the best channel of weapons
When I was in Iraq we carried a East German AKM on our tank we had a polish underfolder and a East German akm both guns where in great shape the East German models where top quality and where very dependable my only regret is I was not able to bring it and others home as a souvenir what a interesting piece of history that traveled the world.
I'm weird, barrel harmonics just turns me on, but man that was some sweet video. You can watch the wave from barrel tip all the way to your shoulder! Loved it!
Other than ky ballistics and the ak guy, definitely one of my favorite channels to go to where I can learn about the firearms I want, and also get those sick slow mo shots. Well done Larry!!!
It’s amazing to see how individual parts of a weapon bend and flex when fired. We never see it of course because most of us don’t have high speed cameras.
All that flexing under fire is precisely why AKs are riveted together instead of machine screws or being welded. That's the only fastener that will hold up to the abuse and not strip out, malfunction or fall apart. A weld is strong however it can't flex and would be rigid eventually cracking with stress.
Man that brown plastic was used for everything in east Germany and Czechoslovakia . From tool handles to toys.. might still have a file or 2 with that stuff on it.
Man the amount of flex in these AK rifles is insane
True.
Let's the dirt fly out.
The flexing is kind of good though its absorbing a lot of recoil instead of going right into the shooters shoulder, but at the same time thats a big piss for controllability.
@@SMGJohn yep
Never stopped em from working though...
I am always amazed when AK's are shot in slow motion and you see the flexing.
Most guns flex some
That barrel had a lot of whip to it

something looks wrong about that rifle
@@germanwarrabbit it's shooting brass case ammo that's what is wrong
Looks familiar.
Btw. E stands for "Einzelfeuer" (single shot) and D for "Dauerfeuer" (fully automatic).
Greets from East-Germany.
Ah, thanks. I was wondering about that... I had "halbautomatisch" and "vollautomatisch" coming to mind, but that obviously doesn't work with E and D
Wollte ich auch gerade so schreiben🤣🤣
Oberste Stellung: gesichert. Erste Rastung unten: Dauerfeuer, zweite Rastung: Einzeilfeuer. Mit etwas Gefühl konnte man auch in der ersten Position Einzeilfeuer abgeben.
Einzelschuss for single shot,
Dauerfeuer for continuous fire
There is no more east germany. We're one now, and I know it's a joke but some people actually want our nation separated. Ein Deutschland 🇩🇪
Larry is always flexin' on us with his brass cased AK ammo
Haha
Right!😆
That stuff is over 80 cpr.
I believe he gets the ammo as a sponsor from S&B.
I just posted the same comment before finding yours lol. You beat me by a full 24hrs 😫👍
I’m always so impressed how little muzzle movement there is when Larry Vickers is behind a gun on full auto, no matter the platform or caliber.
I commented the same stuff, evento on high power rounds
Watch his video on techniques for firing automatic/burst fire. They work. I can confirm as I've tried them on select fire
Yes, everything is simple, he was in Russia and we showed how to properly shoot from an AK ...
It's good that you don't know how to shoot from the Kord machine gun, from the hands ...
well, he used to be in the Delta Force, got a lot of experiences,
Can't believe I get to witness this. Larry you are an absolute madman for firing this one of kind, never fired AK. Legend.

Greetings from East Germany!
These recent videos are a Double treat. Cool weapons and getting visual confirmation that LAV is still kicking butt.
This thing is actually pretty rare in Croatia aswell. More common but still rare is the MPiKM 74, the DDR copy of the AK 74.
The MPI AKM-K and MPI AKS-74NK are both super rare but very cool, they are side folders with the "carbine" mid length 12.5 inch barrel
@@barneymiller7894 the MPi-74 much common than the MPiKM acutally
East German AKs are so beautiful. Love the OG stipple look of the handgaurd and stock. Hope you are doing good Mr. Vickers 👍🏽

I hope you snag them before the gun of the week crowd shows up to bid 😄👍
True classic and for me the best assault rifle ever made , despite this version with the “wobbling” stock . Stay strong LAV
Love the furniture on it
And I love how AK dances under VT slow mo, twistin n flexin.
