Did the self same route last year, going down to Wythburn much easier than retracing route back to Swirls, which we'd done in 2021, but the forestry road seemed never ending. Had the delight on the descent of looking down on RAF planes doing low level flight along Thirlmere.
Brings back good memories and when I saw that mist rolling in over the summit, I thought, here we go again lol. Real pleased that you got some superb views from the summit and on the way down, looked a cracking day. Thanks very much for the shout out, cheers Alan
Nice video buddy. You say a lot of what I say on our videos. We also highlight mental health. We hiked Scafell pike yesterday for a mental health charity & posted it on our channel.
@@bodgeroutdoors3161 I'm not the easiest to understand.... lol.... I've just returned from Inverness running the Loch Ness Marathon - and very much in the mood for some thing new... and If I'd have known about a route (from Swirls Carpark) i'd have ventured out too and explored - hope that helped
Good job lads and alan is some fella gets all over the place im doing this again my self this week with someone that hasnt done it and must say not looking forward to the breathing hahahaah subbed 👍
Went up today with guys from work. A filthy wet day (The sun came out just as we got back down 😂😂). Cracking day though. Took us 3 hrs 15 mins car park to car park, but we weren’t after setting any speed records 😜.
Is there a link to the map of the route you took? Dying to do this in a couple of weeks with the family.. we’d ruled out Helvellyn due to Striding Edge but this looks really do-able! 😍
Went just last week with the family. We are novices but it was doable via Thirlmere. The entrance is Swirls car park and from there is a well-defined route that is easy to follow. It took us 4 and a half hours up and down including rest stops. It’s breathtakingly beautiful; the wonders of God’s creation! Have a wonderful time.
@@samhurley4934 its a bit of a slog but a really simple hike. I done it again about 6 weeks ago with the wife. You will love it. Promise. Let me know how you got on.
Great video lads. Thanks
So glad you got the views, you are a pleasure to watch, keep the channel going, it will grow.
That's very kind of you, thanks so much 🙏

Nice hike and views ✌✌✌🍻
Can you tell me how many hours you done it? Thanks Adrian
Hi Adrian, Just over 5 hours. The views were amazing. Thanks for watching and all the best.
It was 3 years ago and still not achieved with Striding Edge?
Nice T-shirt
One of my fav bands 😁👍. Thanks
How long did it take to get up and then how long to get down?
From what i remember about 5 hours
what was the total distance and how long did it take?
From Swirls Car Park can you walk up to the top without having to do the edge part?
That is correct
@@bodgeroutdoors3161 thank you so much! Given me the confidence to get up there next weekend!!
