    We're not in the market for a 5th wheel, but I LOVE Cougar's "Ready for Anything" Dinette and this floor plan in general. And what exceptional foresight with the bunk to desk convertability! I'm waiting til they have something a little slimmed down for 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton truck for destination camping.

    I'm still saving for one but this comes close to ticking every box. I would certainly prefer the true queen if not king, and I would really like washer dryer hook ups 🥲 we want to full time, and I dont do laundromats. BUT if the rv was great in every other way, I could probably live with those portable washer/dryers you can buy off amazon. The bunk office is really great.

    Love white cabinets in kitchen.
    Outlet is good to have in kitchen but pop up electricity tower would be better.
    Need a backsplash behind the stove.
    Love the bathroom. Lose the bottom shelf in the shower. Too close to the bench. Toilet looks nice and tall - great for the arthritis in the knees population!! Might I suggest a grab bar just inside the door for those with mobility issues.
    Love the desk/flex space BUT that surface appears to be not quite deep enough to put a monitor and keyboard. Been waiting for a decent desk/flex option. The chalkboard is great for kids, but a whiteboard option for adults working on the road would be fabulous and more practical. Task lighting on the underside of the bunk would be great for both desk and bed options.
    Charger/electrical outlets for upper bunks. Flexible/fold away lights for reading too!
    Love outdoor kitchen.
    King option? Queen camp is . . . livable but not preferable for the fluffy crowd. The nightstands are plenty wide enough to give up a few inches.
    Not understanding the angled fireplace. Just square it off.
    A flip up cutting board/surface next to sink would be appreciated. I have to wash dishes right to left! 😉🙂 Plus extra prep space. Plus would be a nice bonus when slide is out and you're removing multiple items from fridge, or putting away groceries.
    Love the L dinette with freestanding table.

    I generally like this fifth wheel. It’s a good replacement for the 29MBS which I really liked except this floor plan doesn’t have a dedicated pantry. Kitchen cabinets are limited so the pantry work has to be done by the overhead cabinets above the dinette and those will be difficult to get into. The door, fold up desk, bunk feature is a home run and the small ward could be used for shoe or coat storage. The bathroom is awesome and the bedroom storage space is adequate. The versatility is very good with great outside storage.

    Two things I would change are -

    Uncle Josh, it an accepted fact that you are among the most knowledgeable and respected RV retail and repair experts. You clearly have your thumb on the engineering and construction pulse of the industry. You are right where the rubber meets the road when it comes to marketing, buying and operating all stripes of rigs from Class "A" to "Toyhauler," and everything in between. I understand your concern about the "HT" name. But it's just a label, not a model classification or category like

    • @rogerspalding5673
      @rogerspalding5673 Год назад

      To finish the above thought which was sent prematurely:
      Class "A" or "5thW." Isn't the real problem with RV retailers allowing newbies to leave the dealership under a false impression? The novice doesn't know the importance of tow capability of their pick up until it is explained to them. The retail industry and manufacturers can't assume Rookie RV operators know the difference between a half-ton or three-quarter ton tow vehicle. Doesn't someone have to make sure the newbie reads and understands the importance of the yellow sticker? The industry can police itself and forbid use of the "Half-ton" designation. But, that still won't change the info on the yellow sticker by which operators must abide to drive any 5thW safely.

I will give up the back room and the fireplace (😔) JUST TO HAVE ACCESS to the bathroom and the Bedroom in road mode. I have been researching and thinking about what would be my 1st fifth wheel and honestly, road mode is very important to me. I want to be able to access everything on the road, including my bed. I am happy you did this video. As I said, I was waiting on it to make a final decision. After watching all your stuff & although this space would be better for the kids, the 23MLE is what's for me. Great bunk office flex space. Great kitchen counter space. Great camp side windows. Well executed bathroom and bedroom. One problem - hyperdeck flooring. I've also not heard of them having issues with their floors breaking down despite this system being out there for years

    • @ispyred100

      Josh I’m an engineering nerd. I haven’t seen any data I wish the manufacturer would just do some tests. If you Google image simple beam load tests they could do that easily. They also could screw some bolts into the material an do a simple pull test. They have a video saying it’s great with no data to support it. It just seems not worth the trouble to do laminated floor when they could just buy plywood. I think freedom express came to that conclusion.

    Pretty snazzy, I like the bunk/office/mini garage concept, but it needs some tweaking, such as the access door moved to the back, so longer item can be loaded in. It's good to hear they will be flipping the fridge doors, such an easy thing to do. And i'm guessing thats a rack and pinion slide so it could be partially opened for quick stop bathroom access? And now a question more general... What does full time warranty mean? If an RV does not have a full time warranty and I'm on the road for 365 days, I'm not covered, but at 364 days I am? Can you expand on the practical issues involved in warranty coverage full time vs non fulltime?

      Full time RVing means you can camp the crap out of it as long as it’s not your 100% primary home
      That’s true if basically any rv warranty.

    fridge should open other way yes, even when slide open and in normal use, the other way still seems better for standard use. for bedroom, just toss in a full queen... really they dont need to include one, can keep a cheap camp queen in there, i would probably just buy my own queen mattress when ready.... i could probably get a better one for same or less money than one from the factory, a 1000 dollar mattress you get yourself will be nicer than a 1000 dollar mattress from factory i would think, or at least more to your specific liking anyway.... so a cheap camp queen mattress is fine.. anyone who can buy the truck and the trailer i am sure would have no problem ordering their own for 1k more, would only need to sleep on camp queen the first trip home with it really, order one when get home.... unless just dont want to mess with it. pretty cool cargo bunk room, would make a good work bench or desk indeed, top bunk could be all storage. very nice little 5th wheel, i would consider it a favorite in this size not being toy hauler model, still room for small toys, bikes, smaller scooter to ride to store etc. love dinnette and living area as well, also very versatile and good for company both. great unit, may not be my first personal choice, but i would not refuse to take it off the lot by no means either, only thing missing is washer combo, which no room for here, not a deal breaker either, all the rest fits, checks most all the boxes, nice job on outside kitchen making it fit, didnt really expect one on this unit... for those who have that single teenager traveling with them, perfect room for them, for me it would be more of work station, place to clean my magic fire wands, store bicycle, great room for many uses.

    It is really interesting. I like this style bunk better so it can be useful when you don't need bunks. I might like a window or a screen for that back area.
    I always prefer the queen bed being taller, but if it is not comfortable and being tossed it is fine.
    I don't like not being able to get to the bathroom in road mode. I would probably go with another option. I assume it can be stlightly opened if you need to get by right?
    Thanks for another interesting one.

    Overall, I really like the camper. Pros for me are the rear bunk room/office, the spacious central living area, the solar packages and the long list of standard features. Cons for me are the camp queen bed (I am 6'4"), the location/placement of the outdoor shower under the awning instead of the back side of the camper, and the placement of the awning. I am neutral about the slide blocking access to the bed and bath when in travel mode. My current camper you have move the slide outwards to access the kitchen or the bathroom, so although inconvenient, it isn't a deal breaker. For the outdoor shower, who wants to create a wet mess next to the outside kitchen and/or on your patio rug/mat? Just a bad idea. With the wet bay on the other side, who needs an outdoor shower in this location anyway? As for the awning placement, look at that huge, uncovered space aft of the entry door. Where are you supposed to slide the picnic table under the awning where it won't be in the way of something? Ditch the outdoor shower under the awning, flip the swing of the outside kitchen door and slide that awning back towards the rear 5'-6'. Again, overall I really like this unit, but whoever comes up with these designs really needs to try camping in one themselves.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Год назад

      I get what you’re saying with the camp shower. It’s not a bad point certainly. Some folks really like being able to clean your feet before heading into the camper after being in the sand/lake/etc

    Your suggestion regarding the fridge door would not only "not interfere" with daily use, but it would improve it. The whole kitchen area is on the other side, so I'm surprised someone mounted it this way in the first place.
    Also, I really love that L-shaped dining area. It's easier to access it from any side, and I can always adjust the position of the table to fit everyone comfortably. Well, the office area is also a good idea, but I have a feeling that it's not the most comfortable place to sit for long hours while working. I'd need a real chair and wider desk.
