    I wish this had two bunks in the bunk room. I would also get rid of the tv. Otherwise this is a perfect little family camper! The north to south bed is my favorite layout for the bedroom. Makes for quieter lovey dovey time at the campground.

    Ok, this one is my most favorite FW. I absolutely LOVE‼️ the kitchen. OM-od! All that counter space....
    The hidden mid-bunk is so fun AND practical to have for guests or to put your husband in (the dog house/LOL). So much great storage in this little room. How cool is that!
    The ONLY thing I would like is for Cougar to start offering KING BEDS. Can you please tell them it would be a good idea to put into practice for their RVs? Thank you, thank you. 🤞🏼🙏

    We own this model, it’s a 2021 we bought late last August. We love it..... and we were able to get the darker colors inside... theatre seating Rocks!
    Rear kitchen is what sold my wife and works out well, it really opens the layout and gives a lot of space to move around... The windows on the camping side (where the fire and everyone hangs out), are great....
    I tow it with a F250 Platinum Diesel, I definitely wouldn’t want to tow it with a half ton... just my opinion!
    We’ve had several different manufacturers and types of trailers, (toy haulers, bunk house ...). This is by far our favorite, we almost bought a class c and are so glad we went with this Fifth Wheel!

    FINALLY feel vindicated related to the short queen. I had asked you a couple of times related to bed size as at every local RV show I would jump in one of these with my little tape measure only to find a short queen, but was contrary to your videos. Thanks for validating that I was not crazy. 👍

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 года назад +2

      I couldn't remember who was asking, but thank you for mentioning several times and apologizes for the confusion, Al.
      The crazy part is the Cougars we had in stock at the time DID STILL have the 80" queen. That's why I was so confused.
      Apparently it's been a transitional thing, but due to mattress shortages Cougar has been flip/flopping between the two sizes for a little while
      Unfortunately there isn't always a lot of clarity on something like that from the factory. We just sort of... *find out* later
      I've never claimed to get it all right, but I will also own up to my mistakes. Thanks for hanging with us, Al :)

    Josh, long time subscriber! The passion you show in reviewing rvs is amazing! Thank you for making all these videos! Onto my question, being from Michigan, I would assume you know what rvs are the best for cold weather full timing. You said this cougar is good but nothing really good, would I do just fine during the Massachusetts winters full timing in a cougar such as this model?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 года назад +1

      I don't remember saying they're "Good but not real good" for cold camping. Cougar has proven itself as capable as anything else. If it's going to be HARD sub-freezing, then *ANY* RV benefits from some extra protection like skirting at the least.
      Basically any and all Jayco & Keystone FWs we have enjoy the same testing and assurance.
      In travel trailers White Hawk, Cougar, and Eagle have all been tested and proven 0 degree functional

    Love this model if we were looking for something a little bigger for extended trips (which will hopefully happen in the not too distant future), but still relatively compact and maneuverable. Absolutely ADORE the kitchen-it’s perfect! Love all the windows. The hubby will be happy with the theater seats. That mid bunk room could be my office, and double as a giant dog bed for our two beasts, or my stepson when we have him. Love the nightstands in the bedroom, but would need a true queen. The time out bench would make a great raised feeder for the dogs. All in all, definitely a thumbs up-I’ll be dreaming about that kitchen. :)

    You seem to be encouraging the choice for the 12v compressor refrigerator. I thought it was just a cheaper option. How much do they drain the battery while boondocking compared to the propane ones?

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 года назад +1

      Their cost is quite similar to similarly sized 6-8cu ft 2-way fridges while providing some significant benefits.
      Once at "cruising temps" they only draw about 3-4amps which is not a lot. Furrion did some testing they shared here ruclips.net/video/HNCnwXOh1ng/видео.html
      If someone is serious about boondocking, then they'll want to provide the same upgrades to their RVs with a 12v fridge as a 2-way fridge -- things like perhaps an extra battery, some kind of solar, a portable generator, or combination of any 2-3 depending on their needs. So the fridge doesn't really change how someone camps

    Alright Josh, you can't have it both ways: Floor vents - in other videos you state how Cougar puts them in the floor because they are more efficient. Yet, here they take up cabinet space in the kitchen and bunk room. Actually, I am just giving you a hard time and really enjoy the details you present in spite of your humor attempts - just kidding - somewhat. You mentioned the large space in the back corner of the kitchen, yet the only thing I see outside is the power plug. The cabinet under the oven is also shallow. It looks like that might be due to the heater. BTW - nice recovery on the bed length :) Keep up the good work as your videos are well done.

      @@getcraig55 It's often necessary to avoid adding significant length/weight/cost to an RV (all of which are factors the public does not like). Smaller campers are also designed with the expectation more time is spent out doors than indoors, so the positioning of the windows becomes less important
      Given the choice? Yeah -- I'd 100% want windows on the camp side of the RV. But I need the basic functions of the RV to work FIRST with preference stuff like that secondary to my personal style of basic camping

      They needed to bring the entertainment center uncommonly close to the theater seating to make sure the "hidden" middle room's slide can close behind it.

    I like what they tried to do. Fifth wheel bunkhouse but not some 40 foot 15000 pound monster. Love the rear kitchen but that entertainment space is to small. So here is what I was thinking design wise. Take out the the bunk room and move the slide a little bit towards the kitchen. Turn the slide into a TV storage monster. Put a sleeper sofa on the wall next to the steps. Turn the other slide into a giant sofa slide. Maybe that would allow them to move the 1 ac closer to the middle of the rv. Where it is now makes me think the back would be super cold while you would be hot and sweaty in the front bedroom.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  3 года назад +3

      I do not believe that would be a good pairing. The EMPTY hitch weight of this RV is nearly your entire payload rating -- and that's before any cargo, the weight of the hitch itself, or occupant pile into the vehicle.
      Half tons just generally are not a good fit for fifth wheels (no matter how hard marketing agents attempt to indicate otherwise).
      Something like this is a brilliant fit for a 3/4 ton gasser or above
      Your truck can tow like a mule. It just doesn't have the chassis/suspension/braking for a heavier RV/trailer to be hitch atop the bed.
