Keep at it Stevo, can't wait to see her finished mate.. Capri 💕
A very very nice man to have a conversation about my era of Ford cars. I think you're right about the paint colour, it gave the Capri a sharpness to its lines.
Top quality Capri work. They used to be everywhere didn't they? The S, the 2.8, the Laser, the green Brooklands. What happened? We got old is what!
Surely back in the 80’s those arches were treated to sheets of mesh, a whole tub of filler and newspaper to pack them out.
I've seen the remains of an egg and bacon sarnie go in the wing of a MkIV Spitfire...
Chicken wire and newspaper was the way to go for my Uncle's Audi 60 in the late 70's...
😂😂😂
You lads are classic one does the camera other lighting smoking a roll up and fudgie rolling another, brillant don't change a thing👍
Looking good, got a 2.0 lazer in blue in the shed, in the family from 6 months old but not turned a wheel for years. After watching this maybe it is time to drag it out!
Drag her out and give her some love...get her back on the road 😊 can't wait to get this finished 👍
I had three Mk2 and one Mk3...should have kept them...
🥲
Great progress so far, driving it in the next summer seems possible...
👍👍👍
Nice work fudgie, really glad you and Al did tonights update video. So looking forward to seeing this capri come along.
A diesel Capri with a mercedes engine in.
Now that's a rare cat.
Sounds like a good idea 😊
A great " Capri update" a man who is not at all phased by welding, look forward to the next update.
Nice to see fudge is doing the capri the right way proper way it won't be cheap but be worth it when it's done its good of al to let you use hes unit could not believe the price of that £1500 panel and 8 months wait as well so don't blame you for making your own panel take your time and do a top job as its been done really bad before can't wait to see it finished 👍
What a lot of work, fair play to you Fudgie. Thats some dedication. Talented pair of gentlemen you two are
Thank you
Yeah, keep up the good work doing your recordings as you go along with the restoration like I’d love to see it when it’s finished😮😮😅
When you mentioned adding a diesel engine Fudgie turned into Jim from the Vicar of Dibley. No No No No No meaning yes lol
Thanks for the update lads. You got to love a Capri 👍👍 We are going to run out of good fabricators like yourselves in the years to come 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Omelette and cracked eggs n all....... 👌🏻
Here's hoping that weedy pinto makes itself scarce and a lovely big V8 appears under the bonnet!
Capri is coming together very nicely
Another great video has always al and fudgie 👍
Thank you Tony 👍
Fudgie finally has his 6d hoody.
Epic work Fudgie.
Gent's, i do like the running commentary 😂😂😂😂
I reckon you need to either Tickford it (was a chap a while back selling the Tickford panels over in Bournemouth) or Del Boy it in bright neon green, fandango wide wheels and rude in your face rally lamps up for'ard and a pink leopardskin interior... You would get us Reliant owners just queuing up to have foto's taken alongside with our crappy 3 wheelers hehehehe
Will see will see!!! Arhhhhh
A lot of work Fudge but coming on nicely, looking forward to more videos on this .
Great little car. Not many here in Australia.
Summer is my favourite day of the year.
😂😂😂 just choked on my tea
Nice to see the ongoing works, looks like a major job though, although having said that I've watched enough of your videos to know that the impossible is the norm.
Black 3.0S all day long.
Ta da da da,it’s here finally😃😃😃😃😃😃👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Al's got to have a turbo diesel capri😊 if only to piss off the anoraks 🤗👍
Pause the video guys and get that rollup rolled UP!!😂😂😂😂
Good job Fudgie its looking good 👍
He's doing a fine job, on most 80s ford's tin worm.. the Capri some love them .. never a fan . Good when done
I love Capri's had a few over the years, and great to see another good one Saved! Well done guy's 👏 ✔ 👍 😊
Bloody hell fudgie that's looking brilliant really good to get an update on this project thank you Al for your camera work top quality as always 👍🏻
Lived in Portugal in the late 80s in the village up the hill from where we lived was a fisherman had a capri with a 2.1 diesel in it top quality vehicle
How exciting!
Mid-week video
Perfect 👌 💪💥🏎️
I think the diesel engine swap would make a good experiment could always change it back but I bet if u done it it would stay
Great work Fudgie you 2 make a good team
I'm with you Fudge, just finished a 1.6 Laser and about to start a major rebuild on a 3.0S.
Love the 3.0s capri...what colour is yours? I'm keeping this one black now and not changing her to blue 😂
Diamond white. Its a MK3 1981, one of the last 3.0S's.
Reminds me of the "Chuckle Brothers"
Treated to a mid week video. We are blessed. Thank you.
Another ace video 😁😁
Good night everyone good work on the ford carpi please don't stop working on your cars lorries vans everyone
Love capris , actually old fords in general, not keen on mk2 tin corners tho . My first car was a mk 2 capri 2.0 S , engine was shot , rebuilt , bored out slightly bigger 🙄, wish I had kept it . Classic cars .
Maybe you could build a rat rod capri with a diesel, that would be bad ass .
It's coming along 👍.
Isn't there a mathematical formula for working out when a resto will be finished ?😆😉
Love the channel,it's nice to see real work being done by real people,I did a 2.0 laser for a friend 2 years ago,I feel fudges pain,6and a half weeks welding and fabbing, the one I did was black,it's so much better than blue, tell fudgey it's all worth it.,andy
We definitely need more updates on this one fudgie, right up to when you're taking it around wet roundabouts 😂
I'll do some on-board sideways footage when she's finished 😉
Keep working on him Al 😂 before you know it fudge will have that Merc 605 lump innit 😂
I had a Capri 2 3litre Ghia auto inter 1980’s and that would have benefitted from a parachute on the rear as the brakes were really only there in name only!
It won’t look like a 2.8 if it only has the one exhaust pipe at the rear. If you managed to get hold of a V6 2.3 or the 2.0 V4 that would really confuse folk but, you can’t beat the Essex 3.0 for me.
Awsome job and good eye for detail can't wait to see the end result . I love a good old Capri . Kind of wish I had kept hold of my old one . (That's what she said ) all the best Mark and Emily at Rooster Recovery
My 1 and olny capri I had i stuck it sideways round a tree and looked like a boomerang when it got pulled away from said tree
Yours is getting there now
Me n my m8 used 2 help by getting peoples cars thru the mot with 2inch gaffer tape n a can of underseal n some mud we told the owners n they were kl we only did bodywork lol good old days in the 90s lol
I have a Capri with a similar looking underside, But no ramp.
Well done Fudgie , where did you find such an understanding boss ?
Thank you..I'm very lucky to have found him 👍
I don't remember welding that Capri but the historic welding definitely looks like mine. 😂
How the heck did you do so many mot welds, on so many cars, if it really is yours...
I had a very unusual Crapri back in 95, a 3.0 Ghia, silver with a black vinyl roof sporting a Webasto and a bright red interior with Recaro front's in a lurid red leather... My mates said it was like climbing into and being driven around in a f*nny. Had a shocking thirst too, nearly as bad as my Ford Linc Conti 5, just starting it cost a quid, that Essex tho up front despite it being an auto it could wheelspin and it was in the rain like trying to slide down a banister made of razor blades using yer balls as a brake, extremely skittish because of that power up front. Luckily for me in my neck o' south London was a cut price petrol station over in Plumstead, 3rd cheaper than usual suspects then found out when they dragged owners off in bracelets it was nicked petrol a bunch of these enterprising Asian chaps would hijack tankers at motorway services and steal the jungle juices.
Capri getting there slowly mate 👍
Great update gents
Another great video from 6d 😊
Al have you been steaming on the fudgemister he doesn't look like he has been living inside a sprinter side exit exhaust lol ..... love this channel and your content is just addictive keep them coming Al
I remember my dad bought a new one at time it looked like something from space
Quality work going on there well done 👏
Thank you
Love the videos lads always very interesting, merry Christmas in advance 🎉🎉🎉
Cnt wait till its done
Me too, hopefully by next summer it will be my daily run around 👍
A Great video guys
Rather a vw...however sticking a diesel in a random car sounds dam. Good idea.....
capri with a merc diesel. That be cool
It is the strange thing about welding cars you have to find the good metal thats not ruty to give you a chance of getting a solid plate or panel attachment
had a cherry bomb exhaust on a citroen zantia diesel turbo and nearly destroyed the neighbours windows every time I drove past my house.🤣 Go on put a diesel engine in it pretty please?
That's I'm fantastic nick I watch retro rust and he bought a canal capri it's had more welding that titanic did before it sank
There's quite a lot of old welding on her that I'll be cutting out and redoing as its not pretty 😅 I watch retro rust too 👍
Chrystal blue,or pearl purple blue🙏🙏🙏
Looking good, Fudgy, and well done on resisting the offer of a turbo diesel, I'm sure Al wouldn't charge a penny...
Nope! Lol but as I’m sure you got by his tone…. He’s not letting me diesel up his capri 😂😂😂
@@6DDIESELSDorsetslap in the 850cc from the Reliant Regal whilst he’s not watching. 😂
You could stick a V8 in it, that would be good engine or a small block Chevy you better off, sticking it black again, do it original colour, 😮😮😮😮
That near side patch looks suspiciously like a Cornish Pasty 🤔
Lol it probably is....that's tomorrows lunch sorted 😂
A fun useless piece of information, about 20 years ago, I was going through some old cellar cupboards in the mother's house (which she'd bought as-is a couple years prior) and found a bunch of Capri bits, nothing that would have been of use here, but one item was a sealed-beam headlamp, brand new, never used, hooked it up to a battery, *POP*, instantly dead, qualiteh parts from the FoMoCo... :P
Theres a couple of bmw diesel converted capris
the guy probably stuck on the smallest tin cans he could find £100.00 saved on sheet steel but £200.00 extra spent on leccy gas and mini mig reels
Was you in Willington the other Friday,I spoke to a guy that was your double while you were in the carpark waiting to get in your van I was parked next to it
Can’t say I’ve ever been to willington fella 👍
Any update on the MK 1 Golf?
In store at current got some more parts to gather first 👍
Beautiful work Fudgie, but how long does it take you to roll a fag? Me and me Annie got through lots of fags and 3 cans of Stella in the time it took you to roll one. 😂
Thank you 😊...it took longer to roll than it did to smoke 😂
@@stevelodge6506 ❤️❤️
Ummm....maybe a 6BT Cummins would fit 🤔🤣
Typical Capri, typical English weather rotten and it be nice when it’s all done but why did you go for 1600 instead of a blooming 2.8 or something you can buy the repair sections anyway you already met so brand-new car when you finished I didn’t bring them back I could freeze😮😮😮😮
It's not a 1600 It's the 2.0 buddy ..couldn't find a 2.8 for less than 5k in this condition at the time..this one was 1k so a bit of a bargain 😉
SAD thing with fords motors good , electrics good . But they do rot body wise . HENCE nickname dagenham dust bin . MY/ First car was ford 1979 mk 4 1.6ohc pinto cortina base model . OWNED several since all diesel with bullett proof 1. 8 ford diesel . mk 4 escort mk 1 & mk 2 focus estates . PITY 1.8 FORD DIESEL ONLY COMPLY EURO 4 . 2012 DROPED off range . LAST 1s 2007-2012 WENT from chain bottom end to CRAP wet belts . IF not changed & same time as top cambelt 90.000 or b4 . THE wet belt snap , wreck engine . WAS chain converstion kit out there . PRE 2004 , direct Injection models would happly run on 65p litre bio diesel , drop kerosene in winter . 45+ mpg NOT NOT later common rail from 2004-2012 1,8 tdci turbo , intercool diesel
