To be fair, Journey to Atlantis is currently in a depressing state. It used to be a much better experience. Basically a microcosm of SeaWorld as a whole.

Idk. B&M track doesn’t seem to maneuver that well at slow speeds. At least on video. The turns are really long and graceful compared to Vekoma or Intamin family coasters.
I agree. Also, B&Ms lack of experience in the family coaster domain kind of shows in the layout: It looks very underwhelming, undynamic and uninspired, even for a family ride. Vekoma or Intamin (or even Mack & Gerstlauer) would have done a much better job here...
B&M's quality has dropped of a cliff as of recent, no excuse for a family coaster to have this much of a vibration
Agreed the recent B&M’s have had a rattle. I went on iron menace recently and had a rattle same with phoenix rising
This ride would be really cool if they built icebergs outside in the layout that you fly through and around....simple but effective theming

I went to Seaworld on Sunday and watched the train doing tests. The walk area was shaking pretty heavily on the launch and the brake run. From the POVs, there is definitely a rattle. Hopefully, it doesn't cause a problem that will close it down after opening. If you know, you know.
That’s normal for the B&M coaster nowadays
For those of you wondering about the rattle on new coasters, there are a few possible explanations:
1: Steel is more expensive than ever, so manufacturers want to save money on it, so they buy cheaper steel
2: Penguin Trek, Iron Menace, Hyperia, etc. all have higher heart line heights, meaning your chest is further from the center of the track, making it shaky.
Do you know what the reasoning is behind utilizing higher heartlining? Especially if it’s resulting in more rattling, what’s the benefit?
Yet every single Vekoma in existence, since the very first coaster that used their new track, is literally glass smooth. Every RMC hybrid using the steel track (not the Raptors) is smooth as silk. Most Intamin, with a few exceptions, are now also really quite smooth. Mack, B&M (Banshee was the first really noticeable one of their newer coasters), Gerstlauer and Maurer - they are all in the same category now, i.e. a 50/50 chance. So Vekoma and the other smooth ones are doing something different, and B&M having been in the coaster industry for so long, and having made some incredibly smooth older coasters, should know what they are doing. Therefore, because I am *certain* they know what they are doing and can absolutely produce a rattle free glass smooth coaster if they want to, I am not going to keep accepting fanboy excuses when the most likely reason is that they have changed something to save money on their end, without passing that saving onto the customer. Something a little shady and unbefitting their name. Occam's Razor. The most simple likely explanation is usually the right one.
@@ShinHito on some coasters it's absolutely necessary, like on pipeline the surf coaster where you're already standing up. it's probably just something with the design that makes it easier or better profiled, but I'm not sure. I know B&M uses 1.1 meters high heart line on kumba, mako, etc, manta is -1.1, Montu is -1.1, pipeline is 2.1 meters , and penguin trek could be 1.3 meters, which is the same as Velocicoaster, which does have a rattle.
I really am not sure why B&M doesn't just use 1 meter like rmc does, or even 1.1 meters like on mako which is glass smooth
@@teddym2808 yeah that's very true and is also what im thinking. it might not even be the track either, could be the prototype trains as well.
I think Iron Menace’s rattle makes it one of the worst coasters B&M has made. Maybe almost as bad as something like Iron Wolf. I have no idea why they would use that heartlining. Or maybe it really is cheaper steel which would result in the rattle.

I don't know.... their track just dosen't look good on small coasters, it's too blocky. Vekoma (and intamin) making such good family rides I don't see a space there for b&m, especially in the price range. For a smaller budget you already have fabbri, zamperla, art engineering, gerstlauer...

Ummmm where are the penguins? Seems like seaworld is focusing more on family coasters now. The last 3 have been mild thrills.
I noticed the ride seemed to have a rattle in your video before you mentioned it. Not great from B&M, and Iron Menace looks a lot worse. I found Banshee and Gatekeeper absolutely intolerable, giving me an instant headache during the ride.
I honestly wish they went with Vekoma as I just do not understand B&M these days when they used to be so smooth. Why won't ANY park confront them about it and say "your tolerances and/or build quality has plummeted, what the heck is going on"?
It's like the twilight zone when the smoothest new coasters on the planet now (besides RMC i box steel hybrid coasters) are Vekoma, and B&M no longer can even remotely guarantee a completely smooth ride. On such a tame coaster with simple shaping and to STILL not be able to nail the smoothness, well, that tells me something is very very wrong with B&M. If I had a new park, I'd honestly not even approach them for a single ride.

@@Themeparkfan630 It's not the point. And yes, rattles make it hard to marathon as although they don't hurt while riding, they can induce terrible headaches. The actual point however is that this should not be happening. It's B&M and a family coaster, not a Gerstlauer with a crazy layout.
@@Themeparkfan630the new B&M rattles are some of the worst I’ve experienced. There is no reason to have a full retrack on nemesis make the 30 year old ride rougher than it was before.

Looks like a solid family coaster. I'm sad that the coaster wasn't open the weekend of June 14-16 as my family and I were at SeaWorld on the 15th. It's kind of weird that it took this long for a new coaster to open, but glad that it is now.

Layout wise, Emperor is the king of dive coasters in the US. Theming wise put it inside of the damn ground. Seaworld San Diego is one of my most favorite parks but unfortunately, they love this park a lot more

I've heard clermont steel fabricators no longer employ the same level of tradesman they once did. Precision is key but also is expensive. I'm not the least bit surprised if this turns out to be the case. Maybe time to find another company to handle fabrication
