I was an EO in the Seabees. We had a Brockway Conventional to pull a Lowboy. Had a five speed main box, and a three speed Brownie. No power steering. When you took a sharp turn taking off you had to hook your arm thru the wheel to hold the turn and then throw two sticks st one time!
I got my start driving 2 stick trucks! Can you imagine how any of the new generation CDL drivers would do with that 😱😱 Even the instructor would be baffled 😂😂. Sweat pants and flip flops wouldn't work too good for bull hauling either 💩💩! Great video and God bless 🙏🙏🙏
Never been a bull hauler with all the chicken lights, long hood, double stacks, and stuff. However, I drove truck off and on from 1973 to 2018. All sorts of trannies and splits during that time. My favorite? In 2004-2006 I had a 10-speed auto. Yep, loved not having to mess with shifting. From 2007-2018 I was back in an 18-speed. These days, I drive motor coach and back with an auto. Yes! Nevertheless, good looking rig my man, and you command it well!
@@mosyinmoses ok yes 18 speed almost the same only u can split the lower gears we use a lot of 18 in logging and construction trucks anyway nice post very smooth operator 👍
Imma green hand in the seat and see you veterans shifting with your Jake on. I need tips on to make her quit bitchin (grinding) when trying to lay her in gear. Love your channel buddy.
I am totally baffled by this ! Why in the hell would you replace the splitter on the main stick for ANOTHER stick???? FYI, I drove REAL sticks for 30 years!
OK. Tell me your secret. I'm a 48 year veteran long haul driver who has driven the real double stick trucks. I can't figure out where your range selector is. OK. Watched it again. You move the splitter stick side ways. Right? Sneaky guy!
Nice to follow you around but as a Swede, i cant for my life understand: 1) it doesnt look as you can even see over your dashboard? 2) the seatingposition seems reaaaaally awkward and uncomfortable 3) and the gearsticks?
1) I can see enough over the dashboard 2) it’s actually really comfortable for the really long days to be stretched out 3) the second stick is my splitters just didn’t want them on the main stick anymore
How can it be called a day in the life of a bullhauler? It dont show loading, unloading. Then climbing up on the side of the trauler to check cattle to see if they are still standing. All the good things about the job. 🤣
Cause true bullhaulers don’t show loading and unloading you Ned to be in the industry to see that part. Not gonna give the animal rights activists any fuel for their fire 🤣
@mosyinmoses5232 without a doubt. Have had run ins with them idiots more than once trying to get some of them up using a hotshot. They yelled at me about inhumane treatment. I told them what's worse, let them lay on the floor and get trampled to death or try and get them up. They didn't know how to answer that. 🤣🤣
Thumbs up to all who caught that. Not a set of boxes. Why do folks try to make other folks think they're doing something spectacular when they aren't? Get a real set of boxes and make another video.
I started out on a 65 Narrow nose Pete with a 275 (iron lung) Cummins and a 4x4 set of sticks. These sidewalk sissies today couldn't drive a sharp stick up a goats ass, much less a real truck! Started in 1982, 59 now and still trucking in N. Idaho where there's still "a few good men"!

Most relaxed trucker I ever saw. Myself included.
Also, I'm digging the rainflaps on the smoke stacks.
Not many people can do them old school sticks anymore love it old buddy
Lol but they’re not real sticks so there’s nothing to be impressed about here.
Deep reduction splitter on the dash and the extra lever is actually an air splitter as well that's not old school lol
@ronniemctaggart6301 wrong no switch on the dash both on the stick. The truck is old school with out the stick it’s a 81
@@mosyinmoses so the second. Stick is air splitter
@@mosyinmoses not trying to disrespect anybody but the old 359 Pete I started in back in 1992 had a 6x4 spicer and you had to work them clubs

How do bull haulers not get tickets? Is it a unwritten rule that you don’t pull them over cause they stop or do y’all just know we’re they sit?
This ol' boy is haulin' bulls and at the same he's haulin' ass as well.....
Let's put the hammer down and go!!
Do u like the range select on the dash?

Are those old bulls or yearling bulls and where they going? To slaughter or out west to fatten up on that good western grass.
