    Hauling livestock is about as close to old school trucking you’ll ever get these days. There’s a reason you don’t see livestock haulers running modern conventional trucks and still driving long hood trucks.

    Yep like the saying goes " everybody wants to be a bull hauler - till it's time to do bull hauler sh*t " .
    Just last week pasture loading cows & calf's got hit in face w/ Alley gate when a cow came backing up at light speed hit gate - gate hit me in head broke my nose and put BIG gash on forehead. Blood went flying. That was in 1st. 30 minutes. Still had 20 cows & 30 calves left to load and drive 4 hours . Looked like something out of a Friday 13th movie when I got them to sale barn . These cows not only never been on a truck hell they never seen a truck . That's how it goes sometimes hauling livestock ...

      what most ppl don't understand. Yeah some cattle are mean and will get you, but its them gate that hurt the most at times lol main thing is your all good now.

      Don't want just anyone but damn sad truth is no one wants to do it right now. Currently pull hopper till I can get a pot of my own and then I'm going back to livestock. Hopefully sooner than later. I miss it.

    • @lincolnbates13
      @lincolnbates13 10 месяцев назад

      Seen new drivers say they want to pull livestock and either quit after a few weeks cause they can't handle the sleepless nights or they roll it thinking they can drive like a freight hauler. But there's some out there that will train. I would if it was the right person.

    • @caaguilar82
      @caaguilar82 7 месяцев назад +1

      @@lincolnbates13 Talking about sleepless nights, how many miles does a cattle truck average a day? Driving your usual 11 hours a regular Joe can cover 700 miles easy. I’m guessing a cattle wagon has to cover 800-1000 miles a day? Or am I wrong?

    • @lincolnbates13
      @lincolnbates13 7 месяцев назад +1

      @caaguilar82 it all depends where there going but to give you a idea. I picked up a load of hogs once and drove the load 14 hours to Curtis WI. And that load came from western Nebraska. Once there on trailer you can't stop no matter how tired or weather. A 10 minute cat nap will make a difference. Seem loads picked up in Minnesota amd taken to southern Texas. It just depends.

    • @caaguilar82
      @caaguilar82 7 месяцев назад +1
