Well I am a licensed hair stylist and you did a great job as a non-licensed person. This is super helpful to all the people out there who quite frankly can't afford to get there hair done by a professional. However, You should use toner on clean and damp (not wet or dry) hair because oils and buildup on dirty hair can interfere with the toner’s ability to penetrate and deposit color evenly.
2:23 did you use 1/2 oz of the ion!? Or 1/8oz or 1/4oz? I’m doing this for the first time and a little scared! Also, totally black and white type of person. Why did you mix the 10 developer with the 20 developer?! THANK YOU!
I’m sorry no one answered your question. I do this to my hair as well. However, I wash it first. The Ion stuff is like adding the Olaplex stuff they do at the salon. It’s 1/8oz per 4oz of toner. I use a bottle of T18 (2oz) with 4oz of 20v developer and still use 1/8 oz of the Ion color brilliance. I’m guessing she mixed the two developers to get a 15v? I use 20v and keep it on for 20 minutes. If I see some parts turning too ashy, I take a wet washcloth and wipe it off and continue with the rest. It will “bump the base” a bit so you don’t have such dark roots compared to blonde hair. I was looking for the new T19 Wella came out with and just happened to run across this video. I hope I helped in some way
Yes because those areas were darker than blonde. T18 has lift power since a 20 vol is used therefore the lift is warm on hair that is less than a level 7. Her darker roots will lift to an orange brassy colour. (From a qualified hairdresser)
Hi Kathy May, The products used in the video are the products shown in the video. I also have additional products listed in the description box. Hope this helps!
Love how your hair came out! I can’t stand the Wella toners/dyes though, they suck in my opinion or at least in my hair anyway. They don’t hold at all. My hair is a different breed 😂
@@MadisonKateif you want me to be honest they all suck but then again it could be because my hair doesn’t hold any these products very well - the closest I’ve found that does would be Ion or Clariol. I’ve tried soooooo many even box dyes and those are the only ones that “work” other then getting it professionally done but it all depends on what they use too because sometimes that doesn’t even help 😂
Final result came out very nice. Ty for sharing
You're so honest in this video... Loved it!
Thank you!! So happy to hear.
So I do my own hair as well! I love wella. Also try the violet additive. It works wonders to pull that yellow!!!
Can we put some purple shampoo with the toner?
I found your tutorial very helpful.😊

Elle banks use it on dry hair and she is an amazing stylist, she has a you tube channel
When I pull platinum I love the icy white ion toner! Try that one as well 🤍
I actually have tried that one in the past and did not have as much success as the Wella.

Is it just me or did her hair actually look like it has more of a yellow/orange/brassy tint AFTER the toner?
@@mmorrow7243 I sure hope not 👀

Hello, the products listed are not the products in your video. Can you clarify?

Thank you! Do you have a different product or brand that you recommend? I’ve tried others and nothing compares.

Great vid, but music drives me crazy… 😅
You still look a little yellow at the root growth line other wise you covered this content really well thanks 😊
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Do not use that purple shampoo on your beard, it WILL stain your face purple. Just FIY.
LOL you should ask your wife first next time… 🤣
You don’t put T 18 with 30 developer on your natural roots! LMFAO
SHE DOES and it looks good!
Love this but pls get rid of the music😘
@@ilinewyorkleather8873 thank you! But Really!!? Okay, so what do I do in the background because I feel like it’s too quiet with just the voiceover?
Perhaps something a bit softer in the background. Your content is awesome.

Brassy yellow hair was more beautiful than the platinum or white
I personally like a "Sunkissed" Blonde, but not a "Brassy" Blonde. Platinum can be harsh on the skin tone.
