@NitroAndDeathMetal Wang zhong shan (王中山) composed this piece It is far more common for classical musicians to play and modify the compositions of others than say rock musicians. Yuan Sha mostly plays the works of others but Wang Zhong Shan composes quite a lot and his work is often heavy.

Wang Zhongshan is one of the best guzheng player in China.
My friend in Canada is a Gu Zheng improviser and she creates very dark and moving pieces too. Look up Vi An Diep or "nivsha" is the channel name.
