As far as I've read, the caste system is more like a symbiotic relationship. Utai are also short lived, so it makes sense they'd let the elder, often wiser Pauans run most administrative duties. They've been around for eons and have so much experience. It would make for a fantastically stable form of governance, at least from the Utais perspective.

    • @stingerjohnny9951

If I remember correctly, the Utai and the Pauans had something of a mutual respect for one another, with neither side being hateful or abusive towards the other.

@@jimmyhamms4698 I think in Disney Canon, that right before the First Order blew up Hosnian Prime (whose turn it was to be the New Republic capital), said New Republic was trying to diplomatically address a "Neo Separatist Union." Perhaps this Neo Separatist Union could have grown from a Separatist Alliance Remnant, like the one you proposed. Perhaps throughout the years spanning from the clone wars to the Disney Sequels, it was hiding in the ocean waiting to touch base with similar minded resurgents.
If we incorporated EU, it would be interesting if this Neo Separatist Union saw fit to ally themselves with the Corellian Confederation mentioned in Legends, the one that tried to break away from Federal Republic's Galactic Alliance. Even if we fuse Legends with Canon, and the Corellian Confederation surrendered, the Neo Separatist Union could still be around, contesting the Federal Republic (aka Galactic Federation of Free Alliances).

This is legit one of the most interesting star wars planets I've seen, I'm surprised it's not explored more often in the EU since they apparently already thought about this stuff since episode 3. Just another example of how great Lucas actually was at worldbuilding.
I wonder how the pseudo-case system would handle the more politically-minded utai; do they ever get representation in the affairs of their planet within galactic society? That might make for an interesting story

    • @FalconWindblader
      @FalconWindblader 3 года назад +7

The utai live for around 50 to 60 years on average, & one can deduce that the ones with longer lifespans live up to 80 years old at most. With the bureaucratic pau'an easily being over 100 years old by the time they hold prominent positions, i'd say no utai would even bother vying for positions with someone who easily has 5 decades of experience more than they do. As for any outliers among utais who lean more towards administrative & managerial work, i'd say they would be given positions like team managers & foremen, with the highest they could go being aides to pau'ans of lower administrative positions.

    Coruscant: a planet wide city.
These are but a few of “real” Star Wars examples of unique cultures and there architecture.
There’s so many I can’t even name them all.
These 5 are just the ones I could think on the top of my head.
    It’s so magnificent.

Alderaan with their sleek like shining sky scrapers, Mandalore with their geometric squares and globes, geonosis with their more primitive pillars and statues, Naboo with their beautiful Roman-ish stone and green domed buildings, yavin 4 with the abandoned sith temples used by the rebels (irl Mayan temples in Guatemala) Felucia with the circular huts, bespins cloud cities with the sleek like architecture, reminiscent of Alderaan and Coruscant, Muunilst with the towering pillars and banks, Cato nemoidea with the several bridges and pentagonal shaped buildings.

I get we ring how Utapau has two sentient species as almost all planets in the Star Wars galaxy only have one.
This is because it’s rare for two species to evolve on one world but also because when it did happen it would always lead to conflict. The two species would fight war after war for millennia over recourses and land until one would inevitably exterminate the other.
The only cases where this didn’t happen where two species who didn’t compete over the same resources and therefore had little reason to fight each other.
Like on Naboo with the Gungans and the Naboo. The Gungans lived in the swamps and built their cities underwater while the Naboo preferred the plains. The two sides did have conflicts and wars but ultimately there wasn’t too much reason for them to fight. Same thing with the Mon Calamari and the Quaren on Mon Cala. The Mon Calamari lived in the shallower waters of their water world near the surface while the Quaren lived deep in the trenches well below the waves. The two had conflicts but never really much reason to fight as they didn’t share the same spaces.
Which leads us to Utapau where the Pau’an evolved to live on the surface of the planet and the Utah lived underground and in the sinkholes. There really wasn’t much reason for conflict between the two

Now THAT is some good world building. I hope Filoni or somebody does a Star Wars story arc that goes into detail about that. Probably some KOTOR era stuff when the planet was founded would explain that amazing back story.
Also, the socio cultural and political dynamics between the species kinda reminds me of fantasy dwarves and elves. Not how they look, but if Dwarves and Elves had a more symbiotic relationship, it would reveal this.
Subterranean short and squat beings who prefer to do manual work, tall and lithe aristocrats who prefer to do statesmanship-anyone else see the parallels? I guess on a planet where they substituted timber for the bones of, well, basically dinosaurs and dragons (if not kaiju). Sounds like something fantasy race elves obsessed with trees and nature would propose.

Okay I went and looked there was a video done on Korriban a year ago.
Still would you mind making another?
Perhaps one that focuses on how the dark lord's haunted their tombs and affected the present long after they died?
How and the examples like the way the one sith Lord convinced Exar Kun to go Korriban and then turned him to the dark side are really interesting.
