This is fantastic! I really like the idea of these exercises. They're very short, allows me to follow along at my own pace, but also allows me to try it myself for 10 minutes. Gets the creative juices flowing faster when under the pressure too. I'd love to see more of these :P
Looks great! My main fear in art is color, actually. I mean I know how to use the color wheel, about complimentary, adyacente colors and how to combine them. I can draw and ink a character in less than one hour, but when is time to color, man, that can take me hours and sometimes days! Need more color theory clases.
The fact you barely use any layers is incredible! And it's really pushed me to simplify my own process which has really helped me speed up my work though I'm nowhere near making something this good in only ten minutes

Well I think if you know all the commands it is really possible to do something acceptable xD I don´t understand anything about digital art, I am a traditional artist but I would love to learn this skill some day.... Maybe you have give me that motivation... ok let´s see I will gave myself a week of learning how to work with photoshop and then I will do your challenge :O Let´s see if I fail xD
Im in Walid's class 'Cinematic Design: From Idea To Finished Concept Art', and there is a good module on just learning all tools of Photoshop. It helped me a lot to get started with digital painting. I have to say though there are a lot of tools. but it just gives you more ways to do things. It means there's more than one way to do the same job. You can build up a piece of art in multiple ways and come out with the same result. Its kind of like learning a new language. You know how to paint, but now you have to do it in a new language. Don't pressure yourself to hard to get digital painting on the first try. Like Walid says "Practice makes Progress.... not Prefect!" each time I try a digital painting I get better. Not every one I like! But I can see some improvement, in some area of that piece, at least. So if you start you may just enjoy it, just as I have.
I would love to take your corse but 400$ is to expensive for me it is around 2400kn(kn is Croatian currency[it may sound like little amount of money but for Croatia it isn't]) what is little bit under what my parents earn, but hey at least you have free videos on yt, love your art
